Comedian and Cabaret star Sooz Kempner is also in this... which added it instantly to my must see list.

Also going to Ally Pally for those interested in a more central (though equally awkwardly accessible!) venue

I went in with high expectations that this did not meet. It wasn't very funny, and it wasn't very dark - despite promising both.
It was an amusing enough hour, but i didn't quite get the 'point' of it? Why this story? Why now?

Any board members popped along to the kit kat club at selfridges bar or seen if there is any special merchandise. The menu can be down loaded and tables booked from the link below. Caviar top item at 49.95 and a bottle of dom perignon at 425 so bit above my food budget. Think there was meant to be a special window display which would be free to view. Only merchandise which seems to come up on the site are three different handmade upcycled pouches at 170 each. Money definitely makes the world go round. www.selfridges.com/GB/en/features/services-appointments/london/restaurants-bars-cafes/kit-kat-club/There's definitely more merch now - some nice hoody's alongside some t shirts with costume designs on... though i don't seem to be able to add any of them to my card?

if it’s ‘not a thing’ why is it on their internal schedule with dates and a director listed?
granted things fall through all the time so i’m not guaranteeing we’ll get it - but it’s certainly the current aim for their next musical post The Witches.

this isn’t a musical - pretty sure it’s a dance show in the vein of Play Without Words?

Surprised casting hasn’t been announced for this yet. I know one big name is involved so would expect something to have been shared around nowz i wonder if said big names TV reboot finally being picked has anything to do with the late announcement...

Chess is coming back to broadway with Lea Michelle supposedly - though rumours abound that she's now too busy and they're holding off for a few seasons til she's available.

i went on monday night and managed to catch the whole thing, though i wish i hadn’t.
Albin is played purely for laughs & has no depth at all, the accents i didn’t mind but the pier explicitly stating the location was blackpool did kind of take me out.
personally, considering the current political scene i just don’t think a musical where a family try to change themselves to fit in with a. at right fascist politician (who’s only comeuppance is managed to escape the press?) is needed.
The score is one of my favourites, and i worked in the menier transfer so i had such high hopes… but Tim’s lack of imagination, and the lack of clear dramaturgical reasoning for presenting it in 2023 made it a dull, if occasionally pretty evening.

She sounds beautiful - but videos like this never do anything for me - its just a pretty song sing nicely?
Considering what the song is about, her weird almost jig at the mid point made me question a lot - i know press sells etc, but id rather we didnt see there performances til the acting and direction is locked in.

Can't say the Frozen 'situation' ever took me out of the show but each to their own 🙂 I've never seen it on the West end but it just feels a bit bizarre to me through I get why they do it. I don't think some people on here realise that a lot of the more controversial colour blind casting (which undoubtedly this is) probably divides rather than unites. i don't think some people on here realise that colour blind casting unites rather divides.

Not sure on Rob as Tinkerbell to be honest. Gay guy = fairy seems pretty outdated, especially with the inevitable fairy jokes that will come with it. Rob is actually Non Binary. not a gay man - and in the script so was his cow, which was handled sensitively and with humour. I hope for more of the same from them. (..though more of the same does seem to be all we can expect from palladium panto's these days...)

I saw Mountview's The Little Mermaid last night & the cast were universally excellent. My first time in The Mack but it struck me how much it looks like the Arts Ed theatre - do all drama schools have the same architects!?
The show was lovely, despite some questionable directing decisions, like mermaids on office chairs etc but the cast sold it enough and it was a joy to hear the full score live for the first time.

i saw the show this evening & was pretty disappointed to be honest. it’s a brilliant cast and production, but the material is severely lacking and at points completely tone deaf.
glad the white girl ended racism by standing up to her dad 🙄
