I doubt the producers really pay attention to it - Wicked, historically, has never really been cast based on the names (pardon the OBC). The Wizard is the only role which ever tends to attract "names wot people in street know". That said, they did try to big up Ben Freeman.. Fiyero seems to be the role aside from the Wizard and Morrible that is 'stunt casted' at least in London you had Adam Garcia, Lee Mead, Matt Willis etc Morrible has had Miram Margoyles, Susie Blake, Harriet Thorpe, Julie LeGrand. I assume it's because those roles aren't as vocally demanding compared to Elphaba and Glinda Morrible definitely was not vocally demanding for Margolyes - she didn't sing a note! But yes, I had forgotten that role sometimes attracts solid stage/TV alumni too.

It begs the question though re Carrie, does it matter that she has fans? In terms of the UK legs she could certainly shift some tickets (not that the non-stunt casted first UK Tour didn't manage to shift tickets!) but if she were cast for the international parts of the tour, would anybody know who she was?! Just thought - I wonder if restaurants are going to start snapping up slots to put their flyers on seats for the Part 1s on the matinee/evening days. Try to persuade people to visit them with a few quid off between halves, etc.
Doesn't really sound like Nimax's style though, to allow it.

Good grief - does this mean it isn't the creaking NT set that's been wheeled out again for once and we've got something different?
