Aren't they limited because of the railway children playing as well. Surely their rehearsal in the theatre would have been when railway children is playing in order for the former cast to do a show in the evening, which is not possible therefore they have to rehearse on show time and can't perform ? That's what I assumed was happening I think they usually rehearse most of it in a rehearsal room and then have a few put in rehearsals on stage. Nothing to justify the long break Stage rehearsal for this would take at least a week if they had access to the theatre like any other long running show but the fact that they have to put the set and everything back from the railway children performance during the day probably mean it would take longer. They have to go through the entire show on stage to make sure staging is good and people know what to do with the actual props and set (the laders are probably gonna take a while) as well as having a look at the choreography and making sure everyone stands in the right position. The blackout scene must also take a while to make sure that people don't run into each other in the dark as I'm assuming they didn't turn off and on the lights in the rehearsal room (even though I think it would be pretty funny)

I only played the online lottery once and won and I assume it's because one of the day I entered for was the Wednesday matinee which is not very requested so I would say give it a go.

War Horse had an interesting way of understudying for the ensemble called the knock on where instead of having people covering one track they had different people covering different part depending on what they were doing in that scene or the next and then somebody might cover for something they would usually do. That's because they didn't really have swings. Everyday every department would receive a long list of who was playing what when. It sometimes just was a line said by somebody else. But it meant every department had to work out how to amend their plot to make sure everyone was on stage with everything they needed at the right time.

I was told the reason why Frankie is "backed up" is to recreate the effect on the real recordings where Frankie was actually recorded a few times and then mixed together

The UK tour is now over. It is still playing at the Gielgud in London though. It is also not a musical but a play
