Yes I agree, would have been much better! I agree. The piano could be just one gift, maybe a doctor's kiddie set another and ballet shoes etc etc...could work! Very's Christmas ad has the 'a gift can influence the rest of your life' theme (animation of a little girl who is given a space/astronomy themed gift and the ad ends with the girl, now a woman, working on the ISS, orbiting earth whilst her parents stand in their garden looking up at the sky.

Who's Becca Dudley? Apparently she's hosting the XF tour!

Why aren't they wearing their coats properly? Is it a fashion thing?

I'm watching on catch-up.
So far, Gio, Dalton and Scarlet have given strong performances. I can't help thinking that putting three of the four best vocalists (Shan being the other one) on at the beginning is a bad idea. Oh, it appears that next up is Brendan! From the sublime to the squeaky!
Brendan - is like a young Eoin McLove (from 'Father Ted'). No doubt the old ladies of Craggy Island are clogging up the phone lines (and breaking the voting app) as we speak! He seems like a nice lad with a sweet voice, but he doesn't exactly scream Pop Star to me.
A & A - Someone decided to take inspiration from Maria Von Trapp by making their outfits (and those of their dancers) from curtains! More lively than Brendan, and thankfully they're singing this week, though their rapping last week had more sass.
Bella - She has an interesting voice, but this is the wrong song for her. It doesn't help that the spoken intro seemed more like it should be leading into 'This Is Me', not this song. I think Bella would have been better swapping songs with Scarlet.
Misunderstood - I'm not sure that I understand them. The backing lacked oomph and I wasn't overkeen on the arrangement. Also, why is the one in the hat dressed as a giant teabag?
Ayda is very shouty tonight!
Danny - The VT is a bit odd "I don't have any kids of my own, so I'm going to borrow someone else's for this VT!" Oh blimey, he's singing 'My Heart Will Go On', complete with epic key change! His voice is very nasal, and he always sounds as if he's got a sore throat.
Anthony - I'm disappointed he's not dressed as Rocky! Shouty and pitchy, though loads of passion. I think he's been binging on haribo, and this is the result!
Shan - The "I'm changing your song at the last minute!" VT! I like this song, but she does seem to be oversinging a bit in the latter part.
This weekend is yet another double eviction. It all seems so rushed, to the point where I'm struggling to remember anyone who went out before last week. I also don't like this thing of the person who is last in the voting not getting a chance to sing off. I can see that backfiring spectacularly if one of the stronger acts (Gio/Dalton/Scarlet/Shan) ended up being last in the voting!

I must be the odd one out as I thought it was awful. I love Sheridan as an actress but not really as a singer. But hey we all have opinions. She's definitely a stronger actress than singer. That being said, I thought her voice sounded good with the songs she was singing from her album. Probably because they weren't big, belty MT numbers. I found the documentary a bit odd - it felt like they couldn't decide whether it was a 'fly on the wall' thing about Sheridan's life or an album promo, so it ended up as a mash-up of both.

Shan is oversinging now. She is good. But she has an over inflated sense of how good she is- meaning she is just coming over as over-intense and somewhat arrogant. No likeability factor there at all. Dalton is a more complete package. Shan was way OTT in her singing. I was longing for one of the judges to pull her up on that, but they didn't. There's no need to sing every song like it's a power ballad, or stick unnecessary riffs in (Shan did both) - The Sound Of Silence is one song where riffing should never be attempted!

Why haven't they paused the show until this is resolved? It makes no sense to carry on when they are placing certain contestants at a massive disadvantage. Tonight's show isn't live, it was recorded earlier in the day (to accommodate Robbie Williams having to catch a flight during the evening). Ooh, just noticed the message onscreen now about the vote being cancelled until tomorrow. Good, it would have been a farce to expect the public to vote on two performance where there were sound issues.

“Janice Robinson”. A name to conjure with. (If you like conjuring at your local tax office). LADIES AND GENNELMAN PLEASE WELCOME...janice robinson Buzzkill. 😐 Danny Tetley's another one - not exactly a name that conjures up images of a platinum selling pop star...more like a northern pub/club singer who performs on Thursday and Friday nights (after the bingo and the dodgy psychic) at the Phoenix club! It's a pity there wasn't a contestant with the last name Tea. Simon could have put them together as a duo - Tetley Tea!

As for the bit about no two performance being the same - obviously live performances aren't going to be identical anyway, but to emphasise that in the announcement seems a bit odd. They played that up for the Starlight workshops at The Other Palace earlier this year as well but worded it a bit more logically to emphasise the point that its a workshop and will be developing through the run. That makes sense.

Given that it appears to have the Official ALW backing/seal of approval, I can't see it being that unreverential. ALW's sense of humour will only stretch so far! As for the bit about no two performance being the same - obviously live performances aren't going to be identical anyway, but to emphasise that in the announcement seems a bit odd.

"I have so much more to give!" That put me right off. It was bad enough when one of the Overs did it (adding that she was 50, presumably to emphasise that this was her last ever chance of having a music career), but when one of the Girls did it (adding that she'd been dreaming of being on XF since she was 7), it became truly ridiculous!

Because the very fact that Robbie Williams and Sharon Osbourne are judges prove that you don't need any talent whatsoever to judge this show, so why shouldn't Robbie Williams' wife? Next year's panel:- Simon Cowell's dentist Robbie Williams' postman Cheryl Whatsit's neighbour's best mate Thingy, who was booted off the X-Factor 2005 in week one

Roxanne definitely seems to be a nasty piece of work. I was absolutely gobsmacked watching it play out last night. It was actually frightening seeing how easy it was for her to make people believe she had been the victim of a deliberate assault - she even had the brass neck to demonstrate what Ryan had done (except he hadn't done it!). It's a good job she did all this in a house filled with cameras, or she could have ruined someone's life and career. Actually, the most chilling thing for me was when that was pointed out to her, and she still didn't come clean!
It was good to see how quickly the older Housemates cottoned on to the fact that Roxanne wasn't being completely truthful. Nick played an absolute blinder there!
The people coming forward with their own stories about Roxanne serves to emphasise just what a piece of work she is. It would seem that she's done the "He hit me!" thing at least twice previous to Ryan - Sam Attwater (as mentioned a few posts back) and someone she was in Panto with last year. I suspect her career is now over. No-one will want to run the risk of being falsely accused of anything by her, or generally suffering any nastiness. Would-be employers will be wary, and rightly so IMO.

Julian Clary, Paul Zerdin and Nigel Havers were in Cinderella, Dick Whittington and now Snow White - so not exactly different casts! And both Gary Wilmot and Charlie Stemp were in last year's panto (Dick Whittington) and are in this year's.

So the whole cast of Dick Whittington then. If you had recorded it you will hear the exact same routines. Definitely not worth the high prices the Palladium is charging. It does seem to show a lack of imagination. At the very least, couldn't they have gone with a different actor for the Prince, instead of the same actor as last year? It seems like Qdos aren't interested in refreshing the majority of the cast. It comes across as a bit lazy, tbh.

Yes it's extremely sad. Poor man. Very sad. It sounds as if TPTB were taking out their dislike of the contract situation on the man himself, when it wasn't his fault.

Not sure about Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella. I was hoping for someone a bit older, who could convey the fragility and the sadness of the character. Loving the idea of Sir Ian McKellen as Gus, though.
I wonder which character will get the new song? Or will it be an ensemble number?

Throwing it out there, I don't want John to win, I didn't think he was that good in Jesus Christ Superstar. Wouldn't mind seeing Sara win though, her solo was the best part of the while thing! Even though I don't think he will win, Darren Criss really does deserve it. He was amazing! Darren Criss was phenomenal in The Assassination of Gianni Versace - he definitely deserves to win!

I doubt they'd use Charlie Stemp again - they seem to change their Prince/'love interest' each year. I could see them casting Danny Mac, though.

Fascinating - in the code-word sense - to hear how far back in the mix they've kept Andy Garcia's voice. Perhaps they learned something from the Pierce Brosnan debacle in the first film.
Cher sounds pretty good.
It sounded unbalanced to me. It should either have been a Cher solo, or a duet with someone who could sing properly, so there would have been no need to turn the volume down on AG's voice (or up on everything else).

I thought it was a nice service. Enjoyed the music. Not sure about the over-enthusiastic Rev - perhaps they should have done what they do at award ceremonies when someone blathers on too long, and had the trumpeters play a loud fanfare!

Desperately sad. Poor Ruthie! There are times when life really isn't fair, and this is one of them! RIP little one.
