Hasn’t this one been seen plenty over the last few years though? It’s done two national tours. More than enough for something as decidedly average as this. Yeah and the concert version doesn't do the show any favour, since the score is hardly is hardly a gem. Plus Karimloo is not exactly known for his comedy skills.

Hit musical The Addams Family is set to come to the West End for two nights only!
The piece is set to star Michelle Visage (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Morticia Addams and Ramin Karimloo (Funny Girl) as Gomez Addams. Lesley Joseph (Sister Act) will play the role of Grandma, while further casting is to be announced.
Following the much-adored dysfunctional family who love all things melancholy, monochrome and menacing, the piece’s book is by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, based on the characters created by Charles Addams. The musical has played two UK and Ireland tours since first appearing on these shores.
The show will be directed by Matthew White, with choreography by Alistair David, production design by Diego Pitarch, orchestrations by Richard Beadle, lighting design by Ben Cracknell, sound design by Richard Brooker and casting by Jane Deitch.
It is set to play at The London Palladium on 12 and 13 February 2024, with tickets on sale now.

Im sure I’ll be the very last to the party on this but I’ve just been watching a pretty decent full length video of the second Sydmonton try out in 1992. Not the very first one with Ria Jones and Michael Ball but Patti’s unofficial audition for Norma with Kevin Anderson. Google “Jeff smith sunset blvd”. Who is Max in this? Good question! Trading websites say it's Daniel Benzali, but I don't think so, he joined the cast shortly before rehearsals started at the Adelphi. Kevin Colson played Max in the first workshop (with Ria) but it's not him either. I think they had a really hard time casting Max, Trevor Nunn even went to Germany and Austria to see if he could find someone Erich-von-Stroheimesque enough

Can someone explain to an oldie what "meta" means that seems to be used a lot in this thread? I thought it was the new name for Facebook that no one uses so presume it means something else. Thanks "Meta" refers to information about information. Anyone using it differently is likely being a tad pretentious. It comes from the computer programming world where data values are either explicitly defined or there is metadata that helps set the rules as to how the data values are determined. For example, a customer name could be taken from a particular column of a particular table, or it could be taken from column x of table y, where the values x and y are variables. x and y are metadata looked up or derived elsewhere. metadata comes from meta, not vice versa

"It comes from the computer programming world..." What about "meta" in "metaphysics" and "metaethics"? yeah this is why cuts of the humanities are a tragedy, you end up with people saying stuff like that.

Even if they had the money they'd be foolish to mount a full production since it already tanked on Broadway twice. These one off concerts should be regarded as the West End versions of the Encores! in New York

Can someone explain which lines were changed during I'm Still Here? I'm baffled as to why they did this She sings the original set of lyrics until "Amos 'n' Andy / Mah-jongg and platinum hair / And I'm here". Then she starts singing lyrics from the Shirley MacLaine version: 10 years of braces, voice & tap Touring in places off the map Giving auditions on zanick's lap. Never fear. My mother drew up the contract, So I'm here. I've done commercials & club dates & talk shows. Gee, that was fun and a half. When you've done commercials & club dates & talk shows Anything else is a laugh! And then goes back to the original version from "I've been through Reno etc" to the end. The Shirley MacLaine lines replace the original: I've stood on bread lines with the best Watched while the headlines did the rest In the depression was I depressed? Nowhere near, I met a big financier and I'm here I've gotten through Herbert and J. Edgar Hoover Gee, that was fun and a half When you've been through Herbert and J. Edgar Hoover Anything else is a laugh

For the first time ever in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, experience the work of Henrik Ibsen, one of the most influential dramatists of all time, with his scandalous Ghosts, a searing exploration of family secrets and forbidden desire. Running November 10th - January 28th, directed and adapted by Joe Hill-Gibbs.
Very promising cast featuring Greg Hicks, Paul Hilton, Hattie Morahan, Sarah Slimani and Stuart Thompson.

Currently looking for tonight…£67.50 for stalls Row M - with £87.50 for more further forward. Are these likely to drop anymore or should I just bite the bullet? You can buy Row J for 50£ at TKTS or the fourth row for 70£ which is a better deal

First saw her on stage in 1995 in the RSC Peer Gynt with Alex Jennings. Last saw her 2018 in The Way of the World at the Donmar. She was also a fine Volumnia for the RSC

It could also be objected that Norma Desmond has been deeply re-conceived in the Lloyd's revival so that NS could heavily rely on her persona in order to pull off the role and that there is nothing of Wilder's character in her performance

I'm impressed that Crazy For You has managed to stay open this long. I still wonder if they might close a little early though. At this point I doubt it, but producers are bleeding money over it

Maybe the Jake Gylennhal rumours are actually about London and not broadway. I know, one can dream. He would certainly be better box office here. Jake was due to do Sunday in the Park in London and not Sweeney. Jake was recently rumored to take over from Groban in Sweeney Todd on Broadway
