Sad this isn’t extending. A summer filler for the GL to be announced any day now. Is this likely to close before 20 June? Which is when we will be arriving in London from the States.

A reminder that van Hove did direct a non-musical version of Opening Night nearly 20 years ago (in Amsterdam and New York City). And he used onstage cameras and a screen then.

I do wonder how close this musical version is to the van Hove stage version of almost 20 years ago.

The Old Vic production should be called Oedipus Next.

I wonder if MickeyJo can keep their video commentary to under an hour. That was quick - MickeyJo is up with video on 5 December and comes in at - drum roll, please - 37:18 - I don't know if that is a failure or a success.

Just saw the filmed version. Barnaby Hughes was the standout for me in an excellent cast. Was not a fan of the camera moving constantly - I was getting seasick. This show, in my opinion, did not need such active camera work and lots of editing from mefiun to full to closeup. The sound mix seemed off at first so the vocals, I thought, did not seem to soar as much as I remember. Still, Zi swear it was my allergies acting up making my eyes watery and teary.

I wish they gave this to a director who can actually, you know, direct. Except that Pillowman and 2:22 sold a lot of tickets, in spite of the direction, or I'm sure his agent highlighted how his shows have sold a lot of tickets and attributed ticket sales to his direction.

Stimpson's comments don't really give an indication of what ATG is going to do - it's a word salad of "stay the course" but something prompted this move such that "stay the course" does not seem like it will be what actually happens going forward.
Looks like his major experience is in selling passes to entertainment venues.

Did Sugar! ever play a West End theatre? Because, it's from the same film and had more non-preview performances on Broadway than Some Like It Hot - Sugar had 505 performances (plus 14 previews) - Some Like It Hot should end with 483 performances (plus 43 previews). So, if you count previews, then Some Like It Hot wins 526 to 519.

Not sure this is a good idea - but you never know with the creatives involved. The Tom Cruise character is now female. Minority Report for UK
