I was in there on Saturday for the first time since 2019, and I must admit the spark had gone from the place and the music was far too loud. Sad to see it close as it did have some lovely events every so often!

Saw the show last night on a whim to desperately catch Laura as Elphaba because I've wanted to see her in the role for over nearly 5 years and my presence in London finally coincided with her being on!
If you look back through these pages and the pages of the 2018/2019 UK Tour - I have praised this show to the heavens. I managed to snag a front row ticket off a superfan on twitter and even down at the front now the sound is tired and tinny. The actors sounded far away and watery when in reality I could have reached out and touched them? Luckily it didn't pale the vocal performances of Laura and Michael as Elphaba and Fiyero. Laura gives a very powerful performance as Elphaba that made me very glad I've waited all this time and been right about her needing to play the role.
Just makes me so sad that it really would take me a miracle to get me back through those doors because of things that could easily be fixed. A new sound system, a MD that doesn't want to get himself next door into The Willow Walk before 22:20 and toning down the damned smog during certain songs I nearly choked! I cannot fault the cast though, I really enjoyed watching this ensemble of people.

Does anyone know what the deal is with standing tickets for this show currently, I want to see this next week. But I'm not sure if the standing tickets will have already been sold or not? Do they still sell them on the day provided you're at the box office in time? On the day I believe, but I’m not sure if they release them if there’s a lot of unsold seats (more common nowadays) The show I want to go to is very nearly sold out so I'll take my chances at the box office on the morning! Thank you, I just really struggled to find this information anywhere on Hamilton or Delfont Mackintosh website :/

Knee dislocation recovery day 3, even though it feels like day 1 million. Got a bit clever today and ended up reversing my progress from yesterday by thinking I can walk around without crutches. I know this is a great time to not be able to walk because we can't leave the house anyway but it's proving incredibly challenging because I live alone. My small success of the day is the trip to the Sainsbury's local (from an upstairs flat!) and finding the balance to stand over the stove and cook a proper meal instead of sitting at the microwave.
Amazing how one wrong move that took a second is keeping me off my feet for possibly weeks.

Dislocated my knee today doing some home exercise. Hospital was surprisingly quiet and that was the quickest I've ever been in and out of A&E. The pain is real though. But atleast I literally can't leave my house so social distancing is going amazing for me now (even though I was doing very well before).

I will likely be posting on this thread everyday because eating is just about the only hobby I've kept up with in these trying times 😂. Today was beans on toast, with scrambled egg, a few mushrooms and a tomato which I do just eat like you would an apple. My diet is a bit odd because I'm a dairy-free vegetarian, which is practically plant-based except for the eggs.

Signed up this morning, while I will be watching things I've not seen yet - I decided ny first viewing had to be of my all time favourite animated classic Aladdin. I've been without ability to play my DVD/blurays for a while so this is amazing.

Begrudgingly doing my university assignments at home, which is very hard for me because this is not a great environment for me but even if I wasn't social distancing and self-isolating for my own benefit. The library has been closed. After that's due on Thursday though - I have no idea. I'll probably get to that list of Nintendo Switch games I want to play.

No idea if anyone was going but Queens Uncrowned, a fundraiser featuring the Queens from Six the Musical's UK Tour at the Charing Cross Theatre which was on Sunday 22nd has been postponed without a rescheduled date.

I was almost convinced it would come to Sunderland because every current venue is ATG. I'm glad it's coming to this area but my bank is not so glad about it being the Theatre Royal, which I find very pricey in comparison to the Empire.

Is the tour programme identical to the London one? In content yes, only difference is the principal photography and of course the cast information. If you're talking about the souviner brochure, it's completely identical.

Another weird heads up it looks like if you want a physical ticket and not an e-ticket/print at home ticket, you now have to book through the Arts Theatre website and not the Six Tickets website. I lost out on a front row ticket for cast change due to this, but at least I'm going and I get a proper ticket 😂

I meant to post when I saw this in Hull on the 25th Jan, but I couldn't find the thread, so thank you for bumping it!
I had Vicki Manser as Carole, which was not surprisingly the reason I travelled to Hull. I saw the show almost 2 years ago on its original UK tour and would nearly say I disliked it. However this cast is much better in my eyes and Vicki is absolutely brilliant Carole. I saw her second show as alternate and you would have thought she'd be playing the role for years. Incredibly different use of her talents compared to Six and a much better use of them her rendition of Beautiful had me crying. The rest of the cast are brilliant to me, highlights of the ensemble are Jordan Fox and Toyan Thomas-Browne.
I will be seeing this again in Sunderland with Vicki as Carole again. I'm hesitant to see Daisy considering how much I enjoyed Vicki, but I likely will if I can get a cheap ticket for Saturday during the Sunderland run.

It's about 80 minutes so before 5.30 x If I saw a 6pm on Thursday, could I make a 7:30 show of Evan Hansen? Depends on where you're sat, due to there only being one door and a small foyer it can take up to 10 minutes to get out of the Arts. But with a decent aisle-ish seat and a few "excuse me" thrown in its certainly possibly seeing as DEH is 5 buildings across the road.

Noticed West End Understudies tweeted that Laura was on tonight ... does anyone know if Nikki performed at today’s matinee? She didn't, unfortunately don't think Nikki has performed since before christmas.

I've seen the new cast a number of times now but now I can say I feel like they're settled. Despite her not being my favourite Queen, or getting my favourite song from the show: Danielle Steers as Catherine Parr runs away with this one. From the moment she sings her first few lines in Ex-Wives her voice just fully makes you want to melt.
Nice to see Cherelle and Zara who have been on as Cleves and Howard for the best part of a month due to injury and casting gaps have developed into those characters leaps and bounds since the last time I saw both of them roles in particular.
The Queens do everything they can to make being in the front row the most special experience.
Also shoutout to Courtney Bowman for always being brilliantly hilarious and just on point as Boleyn.

That was my clip! And it completely broke the flow of the megasix for me. It was very jarring not to mention completely unnecessary, the Stage Door at the Lowry is lovely. A friend and I went in there to drop off a gift for the same people, who we were seeing at the same show. The stage door handler was kind enough to let us take our time and check everything was there and write a note. Not to mention it was handed to the correct people almost immediately. Except for that, the tour is in BRILLIANT hands. Those girls have developed so much since the beginning and the alternates are incredibly strong as well. You cannot go wrong seeing this cast close to you. Think I prefer these Queens to the London Queens. Are they ok with people filming them? You're allowed to film the end of the show! After the Queens bow after "Six" I've found to be the time to start and literally two seconds after this bow before the megasix/encore Cleves tells you to "get your phones out, you're gonna wanna film this". Filming during the main show is prohibited though.

Saw this tonight on a whim, and there is a tradition to see a Disney show for my birthday if one is available. I was sat in Grand Circle box 2 and I'm not ashamed to admit I completely cried when Mary flew past me at the end. I cannot fault this show and wish it's predecessor Aladdin had been of the same calibre. In no rush to see Mary Poppins again but what a brilliant show, this is the quality Disney should be at. (Also brilliant to see so many well behaved children at the theatre!) I'm looking to go in this box when I go. Which seats did you have? Do you think the ones towards the front of the box are better, or the back? So glad you enjoyed it, and happy Birthday! The seating was unassigned in the box, as I was the first one in there I tested each seat and preferred the view at the back of the box. The chairs can be moved. I also liked the back because I meant I could lean over as much as I wanted without disturbing anyone. Thank you!

Six appears to have found a "solution" to their problems. Jen Caldwell who is alternate Boleyn/Howard on the tour and has been covering Cleves in London for the weekend appears to be staying in London as a swing until February. While on the UK Tour, Alicia Corrales-Connor who was Katherine Howard on NCL Bliss will be 1st Cover Howard on the tour until Jen returns. This is backed up by Alicia's spotlight profile. This shouldn't cause problems for the ship because they only do 4 shows per cruise and some cruises are 3 weeks long. They're also nearing the end of their contract. A creative solution I must say but with so many main cast members out in London, a 5th swing is probably a better option. There is no Howard, Alexia has a severe knee injury, Danielle has a sinus infection, Natalie is now indisposed and Cherelle Jay is feeling overworked as an alternate and is now taking some time off. What's wrong with Natalie? She's just not well, they've had to cancel a concert she's appearing in tonight.

Does anyone know if the leads scheduled shows off are mandatory/written into their contracts? I've seen a couple occasions where they've got someone in (e.g. Maiya) and had a lead backstage on their show off. To me it would make more sense to just give them another show off in lieu if they really have to which made me wonder whether they have no choice but to give them that scheduled show off. The show has a constant 9 show week, which means the weekly show off is written into their contract. There have been instances where girls do the show and take an extra show off later but that is at the discretion of each actress and their wellbeing at the time of their scheduled show off. Many of the girls feel like they need it due to the high energy nature.

My average was £19.03 for 58 shows, helped by a lot of gifts from my very generous Mum, being a young person/student and the fact I'll get an overnight coach to London just to dayseat instead of getting the train in the next morning (dayseat + coach is a lot cheaper than pre booking and train, even if it is twice as tiring). However, drove up by the fact I took a liking to Six this year which is quite expensive for the length and location.
Next year will probably push the £20 mark if my pre booked shows are anything to go on.

Is Danielle Fiamanya down to cover any roles in this? I saw her in Curves The Color Purple as Nettie as she was excellent and she's not long won a The Stage Award for that role, it seems a bit of a waste if she's just in the ensemble. Amazing voice. She's 1st Cover Lady Capulet and 2nd Cover Juliet 😊

Saw this on Thursday afternoon and this is just the most brilliant thing they could have made with this concept. Every performance was outstanding and I just want to see it again because I have no idea where to start with how brilliant each part was. I went through every single emotion I could have possibly felt. The love story between Francois and May was probably one of my favourite bits.
A show has never left me speechless in such a positive way, I do hope I'll find the words for this brilliance soon.
Also RE: Dayseats, my friend and I arrived at 8am because that's when we got off the coach but I would say 9am is safe for the most central seats and showing up to the box office at 10am will be fine to just get a dayseat. There was around 10 people in the queue for two shows when it opened.

Travelled up from Newcastle to see the Friday "matinee" (feels weird saying a matinee is at 6pm) and it works incredibly well in the larger venue, I was sat in the back of the upper circle and I still felt very much engaged by the Queens. My worry isn't so much large venues but wide venues.
The Queens are exceptional, wary to say they're stronger than the current London cause because I haven't paid my visit to the new London cast but they are something. Pleasantly surprised by Lauren Drew as Aragon but the stand out is Shekinah McFarlane as Cleves, I think it's something about the character of Cleves but she's just brilliant.
