Unfortunately looks like that only works if they sent you an email invitation. They also say not to post it anywhere...

Always been unlucky with lottery monkey - do you know if they do day seats at the BO? Same. Been entering almost everyday. Wonder how many tickets vs how many entrants... I understand that they offer the 'winners' tickets 4 hours before curtain up, then if they don't take them up they offer them to the next selected people after one hour. Which explains why I sometimes get my "sorry.." email at 15.30 and other times at 17.30. So I guess this means sometimes I'm ruled after the first draw. All very fascinating stuff, I'm sure you'll agree 😂

Free Hamlet talk Monday afternoon! And I'm in London that day with time to kill - hurrah! It was a nice, relaxed little chat between Andy and Rob (gosh, he's young! Or looks it anyway). Was pleased to hear it'll be somewhere online to watch/ listen to again as I couldn't hear lots of it due to 1. AS & RI speaking too softly and 2. Tons of giggling girls (yes, it was 90% women under 25 I'd say) finding every.little.thing. so hilarious. Bits I did hear were; AS chose Judy over Richard, Fergie is his favourite royal and they looked at doing The Glass Menagerie before deciding on Hamlet.

Not sure what I'd have done if I had, though, LOL. Same! The whole needing exact names at time of booking was stressing me out anyway as until I knew the date I was going, I wouldn't know which friend / family could come. No need to worry about that now

No success here either, nor for my 4 family members.
They'll have had thousands of entries. It's been all over the media all week.

Maz Rory was my hands down fave Hamlet before that one, Scott at times excel but Ike's production is just more inventive, accessible and fresh comparing to Hytner's. It's spot on and to the point with remarkable clarity of language. I hope you'll enjoy it! Do let us know afterwards I've thought of little else since Friday night. I was blown away! Pretty early on I found myself thinking, this is incredible and I already want to see it again! For me it was in a different league to any Shakespeare I've seen before. Mainly because I actually enjoyed it! And enjoyed it A LOT. What is was that made it so accessible and easy to understand was probably a combination of things - modern production, front row seat (I don't think being near the back of Olivier circle helped last time), me knowing the plot quite well, possibly my being older(!) - can't believe that Rory one was 7 years ago!, - and of course the actors, in particular Andrew Scott. His slowing down of the text was, I think, one of the best things about it. And not just slowing down, but giving each word and line it's meaning, allowing me to take in and understand it before moving on to the next thought, and all the time without it dragging at all. Early on he has the exchange with his father's spirit, and Hamlet Sr speaks at a quicker (normal?) pace - an appropriate speed for the speech he was making, I think - but it just highlighted to me how much better I could follow Hamlet Jr. All in all what an extraordinary production, and I know I keep saying it, but it was Shakespeare!! Never did I think I'd say these things about a Shakespeare play. Music, set, casting - I'm actually a big Juliet Stevenson fan and try to see her when she's in something in London but I felt glad that I'd seen this Gertrude as she was so right for it and now can't see JS being right for it at all! - all spot on. I very much do hope to go again. I'm not sure how I'd feel about seeing another version. My enjoyment of this will hopefully mean that I would give Shakespeare productions more of a chance now but at the moment it's kind of made me think the opposite (for Hamlet at least); that this cant ever be topped so there's no point in seeing another one lol. So though I have entered the ballot for Hiddlestone, I'm not sure I even want to see that one now! Andrew Scott's Hamlet was/ is something else and will stay with me for a very long time.

Have a spare ticket for this for tonight - £5! (Not sure where the seat is yet but looking at a booking site there are so many empty seats that you can probably sit where you want, more or less). Let me know if you're interested. Side note - I feel bad that he/ they are playing to a fairly empty theatre every night

Going to this tonight. Excited! - don't think I've ever said that about a Shakespeare before. I admit, I do struggle a bit with his plays unless it's one I know *really* well. I did see Hamlet once before (Rory Kinnear / NT) as I felt it was something I ought to do. It was of course good (great, even) but I said once is enough. Let's hope I was wrong!

Going to see this in about 2 weeks and was moved back from row AA to row A by the Box Office who emailed me to tell me of the change. I would be interested to hear what the view is like from Row A (specifically seat A4). Is Row A now the third row behind rows AA and BB? This is what the BO email said: Since your booking was made, the production team has informed us that there will no longer be a 5-seat row AA. As you originally booked a seat in this row, we have moved you to seat A4 You'll probably get better opinions from others (like some who've actually sat in row A ) But my impression from seeing the layout last night is that row A is a MUCH better seat than AA. It is technically the 3rd row but set far enough behind AA and BB to be a sort of front row itself. I've been thinking this over and really can't think of a good reason why they added the 2 rows. Extra revenue doesn't seem like a good reason when it's not sold out. They are soo close that I almost felt like I was putting SC off by looking at her. (Possibly just my impression but I thought she seemed nervous, esp at the start).

I will happily pay for someone else's ticket (yes, even a £95 ticket) if they take me as their +1. I mean, obviously I will be entering the ballot myself, but honestly, I NEED to see this, so if everyone who is not especially bothered can please enter for me?? If I don't win the ballot I will go out of my mind knowing this is happening and I can't see it.... I hate f****** ballots!! God this is going to be so stressful! I think I'm hyperventilating already! You may well be getting lots of chances to go at this rate! Another possible offer here as I don't think anyone else I know will want to pay £95. Or even £45! Having said that, 5 Angels in America ballots and absolutely nothing. So I have no ballot luck. Or maybe it's my turn I do understand the frustration that some people feel with ballots but given the choice of that or getting online at certain o' clock, refreshing, queuing, website crashing, more queuing, and finally no ticket, I'd probably prefer the ballot. Anyway, good luck all

We went last night. Really great! Didn't know much about this play at all, which makes a nice change from the norm. There were a few little things which didn't quite work for me, but thinking about it more today, I think some of them could be 'preview' issues which will work themselves out. It's been a while since I went to a show at the start of the run so might try and catch it near the end to see if much has changed.
Will give a few more thoughts about the play and cast (overall all were brill) when I get a chance but mainly came on now to say the view from row AA is most definitely restricted at times. I don't know about official or legal definitions, but I basically couldn't see an awful lot. I didn't mind the looking up at all, but it wasn't a case of as long as you look up you can see all the action. You couldn't. Course, it might differ where along the row you are (and maybe how tall you are?) but imo they should absolutely be advertised as partially restricted. I know they are cheap seats and therefore could be said they are good value for money but it should be made known to the buyer about the view.
Having said all that, what a great play! It gave me A LOT to think about. Think I'll be buying this one to read too. Enjoy it if you're going and I'd be interested to know other thoughts about row AA!

Had this reply from Todaytix :
"I can assure you however that with Apologia at the Trafalgar Studios row AA are clear view seats. The box office at the Trafalgar Studios have stated that although a customer on the front row will need to look up there is no restriction of the production from the front row. I do hope that helps."
I have 2 tickets for tonight but my friend isn't sure she can make it now so I may have a spare, if anyone is interested ? (£15)

So, in conclusion, AA and BB are (partially) restricted?
