The prices for this are appalling...I wouldn't mind seeing it but not at for that much Also the fact that they don’t even bother about day seats/rush/lottery or at least ANY discounts avail for general public really puts me off… Would live to see that too, but not for 100 quid in a restricted seat view..

Finally TT £25 rush tickets in the courtroom allowed me to take it off my list. The combination of the setting and the story makes it a worthwhile visit. I didn't like the final twist but too late to discuss with ms Christie. Could you tell me where in the court room Rush Tickets are positioned exactly? Are they lower/upper gallery/restricted? Thanks!

>>All credit to the understudy cast, mind, who threw themselves into it with a will, and were technically irreproachable Did you go to an understudy runthrough or were Luke and Patsy BOTH off, which seems unlikely? I must say, their performances are as fine as anything London has seen all year. I have a ticket for Oct 30, they are both off due to covid reasons it says in the email.. but it makes sense if one of them is ill, the other is the contact... I was so much looking forward to this but now I'd rather pass.. hope they both will be alright soon!

There's something odd about this livestream, I live near the Almeida and when they've done live streaming before, virtually the whole of Almeida Street has been filled with satellite trucks and broadcast paraphernalia. Nothing today, I assume from the post from rumbledoll that it was actually streamed from a live performance, but when I walked down Almeida St at 5.30pm before the performance and back at 11pm there wasn't any sign of anything other than the usual performance. So I assume that they are using a different process that is much less resource-intensive, although I wouldn't have thought that affected the filming choices. The usual bar (currently closed) was filled with all sorts of equipment, wires and lights-beeping stuff, people with headphones. Looked v serious. Various cameras used - hand held, one on the rack and one curving the stage. I do agree that making it look like cinema only takes away that theatrical experience another broadcasts (NTlive) are famous for. Must feel disconnected from the essence of this experience, audience in particular.

And I must admit that guy that shove his camera into actor's faces was extremely distracting!!

Watching live stream and you'd never know you were in a theatre, no sign or sound of audience and all lots of close up shots that I am finding strangely distancing. Yes I agree, it is making it seem even more over-stylised than it appears to be. Cutting the audience applause to a blank screen at the interval was just odd. It is reminding me of the recent NT Romeo & Juliet broadcast (the O'Connor/Buckley one). Was at the actual performance tonight. All side stalls were off, about 60 seats. We were encouraged multiply times not to clap however appreciative of the performance we must feel. No clapping before the interval and at the very end.. 20 seconds of wait for the curtain call when we finally were allowed to cheer the cast!

If anyone booked via Rush tickets already. Could you share where in the auditorium are these seats placed and how hard was to get them? Thanks!

I have a ticket for today’s performance, no link so far. If this one is off I expect they’d inform us... Anyway, hope Andrew gets well soon! Good it’s not a problem to relocate the ‘seats’, not like in the real auditorium.. Small blessings!

Watched from my sofa last night! Very unusual experience. Seeing expressions on their faces certainly added to the previous viewing - seeing the production in October a bit far back from the Circle. I agree they are perfect together, the writing is so spontaneous and honest, it’s refreshing. The only thing this renewed production lacks is a bit of human touch.. made me sad again thinking of this gap existing.. when you can’t hold a hand of the person you love.

Is it worth getting a programme for some more explanation? I think so.
There is a family tree which is helpful. What I found more helpful was the cast page is seperated by time period, and it tells you which role the actors are playing. Comparing that to the family tree during the interval and breif interludes while the set changes made things a little clearer for me.
Oh my. I generally got confused when there’s a need to distinguish 5-6 people but with the cast this large I’d be completely lost.. Can somebody be so kind to post pics with the family tree & cast (if such thing is allowed in here)? Would be most helpful for us, who are yet to see the play so we won’t go through the pages during the action on stage)

Has anyone had a glimpse of Jamie Parker? Wondering if it’s just a passer-by part or a fully developed character.

A friend of mine contacted BO today re:Day seats, here’s the reply quoted:
About day seats, producers confirmed that we will have some for all each performance but at the moment we still do not know how many per person and how much they will cost. However, we have been informed that they will be only on the Grand Circle level.
I hope this helps.
Kindest regards,

I found it much cheaper with a bank card recently (only charged me 1 pound regardless while with Oyster it costs 2.10-2.40 depending on the time of day you travel). Not aware any journey on London Transport is priced at £1.00. I can see a 1/3 discount on a £1.50 bus journey but I thought that only happened with a combo of Oyster/Senior Rail Card. What was your journey? Glouster road -> Blackfriars and Piccadilly -> St Pancras. Maybe they only charge you £1.00, when you don’t change between lines? 😁

No celebrities, that’s right.. but if the webpage at DTM does show all the availability, the first two weeks are pretty much sold out..

In doubts of seeing during a very short weekend break, but only due to the prices.. Trafalgar used to run a cheap ticket scheme (15 quid per ticket to buy one-two weeks in advance), but I can’t see that it’s been available for this production.. anyone here can consult maybe? Thanks!

There’s an interesting discussion with Robert Icke about this play on Front Row from Monday (19th Aug). Available as a podcast and the interview starts at 10mins 52. A link please? If it’s allowed in here.

Went to see the last matinee yesterday. Reminded me a lot of The Last of Haussmanns but this is less funny, less sharp and less affecting, though it moved me in the end. The humour seemed a bit forced though, as if the playwright persists with this or that phase only for the sake of encouraging laughs, not to serve the story.. and it shows. Acting very good all around, especially Kate O’Flynn.

Shame about NT Live. I think it’s exactly the kind of stuff they should film! I’m just wondering how hard would be getting a day seat for this.. Never queued at The Bridge. Anyone’s planning?
