I am enjoying seeing Luke Thallon grow up. I first saw him in the Guildhall production of Crazy for You back in 2017 (so his singing ability was no surprise to me). He was such a ball of energy in that. My eldest son is one year younger than Luke and so I know just how much people mature in their early twenties. It's a real pleasure to watch. Isn’t he wonderful? I fell in love with his acting on the spot while seeng Leopoldstadt, he nailed both characters that could not be more different and just made we weep in the end.. What a discovery I thought, and since then I try to see him in things.. such a shame he’s not extended his talent onto tv and films just yet.. Wish for more chances to watch him perform! Looking forward to this though.. didn’t know he could sing! Wondering, is there any footage from that Crazy for You maybe?

I went in with high expectations that this did not meet. It wasn't very funny, and it wasn't very dark - despite promising both. It was an amusing enough hour, but i didn't quite get the 'point' of it? Why this story? Why now? Well, I believe it's highly relatable in terms of insecurity, hiding behind masks, even on a larger scale the anxiety for the future to come.. Very topical. Even wrapped up in a form of a specific community of a sort I as a heterosexual female was able to connect to it big time.

It’s all coup de chance with these Queues - for Christmas Carol I learned a bit late, got in and was 107, today I was at the webpage super early and had landed only in the second thousand. Bit stressful and also a two ticket limit applied but I eventually got x3 Dress circle side (never sat there, hope it’s fine) for the very first preview (and the only date I could have made anyway) with a little help from my friends

Just trying to ping the exact date the PwC tickets are released (always better chance if I block the slot in my working calendar). Does anyone heard anything? I called BO yesterday and they said I should have received the email on the same day but I’ve got nothing in my mailbox/spam still.. The mailing list notifications have been dodgy with me before so I’m wondering.. Thanks!

I saw the very first preview on Nov 10 and loved it! Been following Sam Barnett’s stage work over past 11 years and I don’t recall a single time he disappointed. He has a unique aura about him I can’t quite explain.. the radiance, the energy, the sort of irresistible magnetic field. Anyway, he is a very special performer for me and it’s so satisfying to see him shine in a one man play praised all around by audiences and critics alike. I personally connect with the character a lot as I am no stranger to catastrophysing myself, I love how the stand up comic routine here blends with real life events he’s depicting and the laughs come easy to the point that it gets hysterical on many-many occasions. In more poignant moments of truth it doesn’t lose its weight or tension either. It’s so fast paced and physically demanding, we talked after for a bit and Sam mentioned that in Edinburgh they were limited to 60 mins so he had to go even faster over almost the identical text! It’s hard to imagine, this. I hope the show has a smooth and ever successful run and maybe gets a life somewhere else. Congrats to Dos Santos once again, i’m rather curious what he’s up to next.

The stage is indeed high but for 10 quid there’s no point in complaining, isn’t it? Always fancied seeing Luke Evans on stage, but rather thought it’d be a musical. Yet so happy to get this as he has a perfect coming timing and just nails the part! So does Penelope Wilton, they share some beautiful moments together and wonderful chemistry throughout. Young lads the servants from supporting cast were both very good as well! I got a bit distracted when a corgi had been put on the lime spot on the sofa I gotta admit! Such a sweet pup! Not so sure about THAT scene at the end like many mentioned it’s s bit too much (though it makes sense when you think how it had played), but still giving the show the highest score cause it made me laugh so hard my cheekbones ached long after.

Was there last night as well. Missed mince pies (sadly) this time but caught a tangerine instead It’s an absolute joy of the show, all smiles and tears, from the two leads I’ve seen Stephen Tompkinson is still number one, yet Christopher Eccleston looks exactly like a Scrooge I always imagine and he will very soon own this part through and through. He also jumped down the stage and kissed my friend’s hand (she loved it) which gets him some extra points! Good shape for the first preview, dinner scene is a show stopper! This really is the most heart warming show in town, you can’t fault beautifully sung carols and bells, I hope Old Vic will bring it again and again every year.

Got pre-sale link from Love Theatre into my Junk Mail. Just to be on the safe side booked row D for 86.50 for the very first preview as the only chance to visit during the upcoming trip. On ATG, all I saw in stalls row D were package seats at £130 for the first preview. Were these in the four end seats of row D (sold out now) or the central £130 ones inbetween? I booked Stalls D20 on the side (three seats from the aisle) and the rest in Row D on my date were unavailable (gone in ATG+ presale, I suppose).

I might be in the minority here but I don’t give a damn who’s in it.. It’s Jez!! It’s gotta be brilliant or very close to it. Just the playwright that shots right through my heart.. I can count them on the fingers of one hand.

Can’t wait! Do we know when exactly the pre-sale is? Signed up but judging by the recent experience the links are so unreliable.. better know the exact time and date in advance.

I’d take anything with Luke Thallon in it! Didn’t know he could sing though.. Remember the design for the film looked absolutely stunning on posters but never got a chance to see it.

I really enjoyed this - thank you to ceebee for the free ticket. I was delighted to be sat with the wonderful John Heffernan and his mother and we had a lovely chat before the show started, as he just finished first day rehearsals for The Inquiry. [/span][/quote] Sorry for a quick off top, can’t help but say how envy I am about sitting next to Heffernan! I remember having a chat with him once in the interval of Chekov trilogy at The National some years back, he is such a warm generous soul (apart from being an incredible actor). Any insights for The Inquiry? Booked as soon as I knew he’s in it (maybe should discuss it in another thread..
