Apparently Gigi did some dodgy stuff going into the finale which probably lost it for her... Gigi already lost before she even filmed THIS version of her final lip sync because she cannot follow simple direction and broke the stay at home order and filmed her final lip sync in a studio somewhere. To the point of Production threatening to disqualify her. Between her constantly breaking the stay at home orders (filmed two Digital Drag performances with entire crews of people, broke the stay at home order & filmed a video with Jeffree Star) & making tone deaf comments after George Floyd was murdered and made her response to the backlash all about herself. I liked all 3 equally so didn't really mind who won. Big congrats to the real star of the season Heidi!!! Nooooooo that's so disappointing!!! WHY would you jeopardise your health, someone else's health and the competition?!

I'm a little disappointed tbh. Gigi was the winner for me! Crystal was probably the worst in both 3-way lip syncs but I LOVED her solo lip sync, that was just Crystal all over. I just found Jaida a little basic and......boring? Ah well - thought they did a great job of putting the finale together though I agree that it's SUCH a shame these queens won't get the theatre finale they deserve after such an overall enjoyable season. And it makes me scream how incapable Ru obviously is at getting herself ready!!

Further to my post above, why would you even consider easing lockdown before lowering the threat level?

Whilst Johnson was announcing the new lockdown measures yesterday, the two medical advisors present looked SO uncomfortable with how Johnson was presenting the information rather nonchalantly with hardly any warnings or caveats. They kept reminding people to still be careful and not to go crazy with these new rules. You can't help but wonder that Johnson was so desperate to get Cummings off the front pages that he announced these rules in the way he did.

Still waiting for a response about the fact that Emily Maitlis said she'd be back tomorrow? And then “wanted a day off”? And @jeanhunt , now that the Durham Police have confirmed a breach may have taken place, could you point me towards anything that Emily Maitis said that was a lie? And, as above, she is quoted as saying she'll be back tomorrow and then suddenly request a day off? And you sincerely believe that? And I would like to preempt the points of “no fine” and “minor breach” by asking where there was ever a discussion of different levels of breaking lockdown? You either did or you didn’t. And it's looking increasingly like Cummings did. In my opinion there is simply to defense, no matter how much effort the government go to cover it up. Happy to help. I didn’t say she lied, I said she editorialised. She basically said Cummings had committed an offence before any police investigation returned any such suggestion. It’s a clear breach of BBC guidelines. But anyone who works there in a reporting capacity should know that, it’s pretty simple: if what you’re saying sounds like an opinion, not a proven fact, you need to caveat it. From what I could read between the lines of the BBC statement following it, if she’d said something like “tonight we’ll be asking questions about...” before the rest of it, she’d have been fine! Re Emily Maitlis saying she herself specifically requested last night off. She may be lying but if she’s doing it on her own Twitter account, that’s her business. I might request a day off too if I was teed off at being reprimanded by my employer. Or maybe she was unwell. Or had caring responsibilities that arose unexpectedly. Who knows. I just don’t see a grand conspiracy. Police statement appears to say only the Barnard Castle trip ‘might have been a breach’. And even if it was, they seem to say they probably wouldn’t have done anything about it then and certainly don’t intend to now because there was no risk caused to others, due to social distancing being observed (as far as they know). Short of the result being ‘he did nothing whatsoever wrong and wasn’t perceived to have done anything wrong’, this is about as good an outcome the government could have hoped for. I see your point for sure. But now the police investigation has returned a result (and many thanks to the poster above me for quoting the Secret Barrister tweet regarding “might”), should the BBC not retract that statement? I understand *at the time* some viewed it as an opinion. Many viewed it as fact, which is what it turned out to be. And why does the BBC not afford the same practice to Laura Kuenssburg who appeared to be personally defending Cummings when replying to other reporters when this story first broke? And numerous other occasions which seemed to demonstrate a clear political bias. Or when Andrew Neil gives his own view in his monologues? Or even when Maitlis herself sat in front of a screen showing Jeremy Corbyn photoshopped in front of the Kremlin wearing a Russian-style hat? I'm pontificating, of course, I don't expect you to have the answers, but it's something to think about. If you can entertain the idea that Maitlis lied on her twitter about taking a night off, surely you have the entertain the question why?

Replacing a news presenter for telling the truth. Democracy is slipping away from us at an alarming rate. If you're referring to Matlis on Newsnight, she wasn't ever scheduled to present last night. At least according to the scheduled presenter on Twitter @katierazz
The most interesting thing about that for me is that @maitlis herself chose not to correct the fake news, at least to date. Though she has been on Twitter and *liked* something else: so, effectively choosing to feed the fake news bots.
If you are relying on the BBC in general and Newsnight in particular for integrity, good luck.

Daily Mail conducted a poll of 1,038 adults online yesterday. Obviously it's just an online poll, but still interesting reading. Overall percentages in bold, percentages of Conservative voters in brackets. Also puts Johnson and Starmer almost neck and neck in leadership ratings.

Are you being serious? Deadly serious? OK then. For the avoidance of doubt, on the few points I highlighted from your post. They took a child, who could potentially have symptoms of covid or has been in close contact with someone they believed could have covid symptoms to a hospital 260+ miles away from where the child actually lived. The exact opposite of what should be done. You know that, no excuses, which is the most confusing thing. But anyway, that's the difference. OK, you may take a short walk or bus trip to see if your legs will carry you. Do you give a piggyback to a family member while you're walking? Or drive the bus full of passengers? I don't think so. That would be incredibly reckless, irresponsible and dangerous. Also, testing your eyesight by driving seems to go against the advice of many medical and driving professionals who said as much yesterday and today. But again, there's no way you don't know that. Seeing a bit of a pattern here. And yes your final point about how small children behave. Totally agree. So I’m expected to believe there were no stops on a 5 hour car journey? OK then. And on your final point that I haven't quoted about driving and childcare. If Mary Wakefield was not comfortable driving, that leaves Cummings as the only driver. If he became seriously ill that would leave them in the most awful predicament. Not worth it in my eyes, stay put. No childcare in London? Well, they didn't even ask, he said so clear as day in his statement. But if they did ask and there was seriously no single family or friend who could help, they should have gone through the local authorities, as Jenny Harries says in her clip about exceptional circumstances (which Dominic Cummings' most certainly were not) which gets conveniently cut off before she mentions going through local authorities for help, not drive 260 miles and live next to your elderly parents and have shouted conversations with them, which the rest of the country couldn't and largely didn't do. 1) They took him to hospital up north because he took ill when they were up north. For (in my view and others’) the perfectly reasonable fact they had gone north to get potential childcare support they couldn’t get elsewhere. You disagree that this trip was necessary. That’s your prerogative. It doesn’t make me stupid. 2) Experts say a lot of things, but if you give them a hypothetical scenario you’ll be surprised how much they’ll bend! Also: since when do you consult an expert every time you’re a bit unsure how you'll manage in a situation they know about?! eg There are a heck of a lot of people who drink while on medication. I wonder how many of those hypocrites are finger-pointing over this element? Probably quite a few! (Not suggesting that’s you, by the way. Just pointing out the mega levels of hypocrisy generally surrounding this row.) A reasonably short drive to test how you feel before driving further, on quiet roads, with another person along who could drive in an emergency, feels acceptable to me. You disagree. Your prerogative. Doesn’t make me stupid. 3) I agree, it felt unlikely to me too. But if he was asleep they could have done it (they arrived at midnight, remember). And if he was sickening for something, he may have slept more heavily. Did he say they hadn’t asked re childcare? My recollection was that their source of childcare wasn’t available, or something. I read today his wife’s family (London based) had other small children so couldn’t do it - don’t know if that’s true or not. And I‘msorry, but I struggle to believe any middle-class parent would seriously consider putting their child into the care of their local authority!! Well I’ve just skimmed through the statement from yesterday and when asked whether he made enquiries in London before heading to Durham, he said no he didn't. He said he didn't think about that seeing as he'd already received an offer from his 17 year old niece. So neither of us know that he couldn’t get support elsewhere because he didn't even check. If he checked and he DID have support in London, the trip to Durham was unnecessary, not to mention breaking lockdown rules. If he checked and DIDN'T have support, then I don't give a damn what class he is, the rules as set out by Jenny Harries were to contact local authorities, and that goes beyond class. So you mean to tell me that doesn't apply to the middle-class or people who work for government? In my eyes, that is no argument and your admittance that there is one rule for them and one rule for us. I don't know your background, but whatever it is, that sentence is very revealing as to your support for Cummings in this situation. I also, in this situation, don't care what experts say in hypothetical scenarios. This was a real scenario, and based on Cummings' statement, they have given their advice. When asked by Kay Burley this morning what you should do if you're worried about covid-19 and eyesight, Michael Gove replied to seek medical advice. So yes, in this situation, he clearly should have consulted a medical expert before his test-drive (don't worry, I wouldn't for a second think you were accusing me of that!). But if he wanted someone with him who could drive in case it went wrong, ok I can accept that. But his child, too? I don't accept that. The supposed child care he went to Durham for was never used. So leave the child with the childcare and test the eyesight? That being said - I don't accept the eyesight test-drive in the first place. If they arrived at midnight, they would have left around 7pm, I guess? I just don’t buy that they could have done that trip in one go. But that could just be me! I know you said you're taking some time away but just in case you do see this, I never for one moment thought or suggested you were stupid. Apologies if it ever came across that way. I find your defense for him rather confusing and I don't understand why or how, but never stupid. I wish you well.

poster J the Minister who resigned summarised your point excellently I have constituents who didn’t get to say goodbye to loved ones; families who could not mourn together; people who didn’t visit sick relatives because they followed the guidance of the government. I cannot in good faith tell them they are all wrong and one senior advisor was right. Yes, the kid went to hospital but if they’d been in London he’d have just been taken to hospital there. So there’s no difference, really. The trip to Barnard Castle was made when Cummings was no longer infectious. Doing a test route doesn’t seem weird to me. (Eg If I’ve been ill for a period of time, I always take a walk/short bus trip to see if I think my legs will carry me safely back to work the next day.) (the lack of understanding on here about how small children behave would be hilarious if it wasn’t leading to some rather unpleasant comments being made). The fact is, is that Dominic Cummings' son, from London, ended up in a hospital in Durham. The whole point of lockdown was to avoid this. That is the short and long of it. No attempt made to contact friends or family in London before the move to Durham. Nothing that happened in Durham couldn't have happened in London. It is inexcusable. I'm not giving airtime to that ridiculous eyesight comment. If his eyesight was that bad and he had his wife and child in the car, what could have happened? Yet some of you have swallowed it and are completely happy. Well more fool you. If you watched that statement and ended up on Cummings' side, you are brainwashed. Cummings is your Derren Brown, there's no two ways about it, and you are too deep into it to ever believe otherwise. The UK now has the worst death rates per million in the world. But even that won't distract his blind followers. PM's approval rating is now -1%. Overall Government rating is -2%. “Lefty-loony bias” doesn't wash here, as Daily Mail are still on the attack. Certainly non-left wing critics such as Piers Morgan, Iain Dale, Julia Hartley-Brewer, Tim Montgomerie and Iain Martin are, whatever you think of them, certainly not completely on the side of Cummings. A Scottish Tory minister resigned today over aspects of Cummings' “explanation” that he has trouble with. Turns out one of them does have a spine! Michael Gove tells Kay Burley that when Cummings drove to Barnard Castle, the rules allowed people to drive for exercise. Article about being able to drive for a walk weren't published until April 16th, definitely after he returned to work. Reasonable excuses certainly did not include “testing eyesight”. Burley asks what is the government advice if you are struggling with eyesight. Gove says to seek medical advice. Then goes on to defend Cummings' trip to Barnard Castle! PM says his eyesight has weakened since being ill so he understands. Shame there's articles from 2014 where he talks about being as blind as a bat! Wake up!!! We are being lied to every single day. Worse, we are being gaslit. Why are some of you OK with that? There's been some retweets of an edit made to Cummings' blog in mid-April, the day he returned to work, warning about coronavirus, which Cummings now claims he warned about in his blog all along. And blaming the media?! Trump tactics in full force in UK now. The most inaccurate media accounts of this whole sorry affair are his and his wife's.
Didn't think I’d ever live in a society where people enjoyed being gaslit. That is highly disturbing.

Shocker, but I don’t think the government have quite got the public opinion right on this one. These are Cummings’ neighbours on his return, tonight.
Seen a Boo for Boris being planned on twitter for a day next week at 8pm (not Thursday). Some on here will no doubt say that’s too far. I think that’s just about right.

These were the supposed official rules. Not followed by Dominic Cummings yet seemingly the goalposts were changed for him today.
A timeline which may also be helpful. Sorry that it's a pic from the DM but no link, at least. They were spotted on April 5th, March 30th-April 6th was the period that Mary Wakefield wrote about in the Spectator, April 25th. Very much seems to imply they were in London. If you're documenting it, why not talk about moving to Durham?

Staunch Tory supporters baffle me. Are they seriously so brainwashed that they believe this government is doing a good job? Or are they too stubborn to admit what a disaster this has been from start to finish so are just keeping up appearances? How far does this government have to go before even their most loyal supporters can't defend them anymore? I feel like we currently live in a totalitarian state. The government does whatever they want whenever they want and there are precisely 0% consequences every single time. And we just have to accept it and move on.
Obviously a myriad of tweets on the subject but this struck a chord
Followed by Boris' own words, maybe? And don't come back with “well he never left his child with relatives”. So WHY the 250 mile trip?!?!
And so this was a lie?? On top of accusing the Durham Police...

I've enjoyed the celeb one more and more with each ep. 1 was cute, 2 was great fun and 3 was just brilliant, one of the funniest eps of any Drag Race and the guys were just fantastic! Agreed. Why episode 3 wasn't the season opener, I don't know. It finally proved the format works, and that there's something to be gained from people who don't usually do it doing drag. Episodes 1 and 2 were just... meh. Having watched all 4 of them now, I think ep 3 should've been ep 4 and closed the specials on a massive high. Ep 4 was the meh-est of them all!

Hasn't ALW got any more filmed shows he could put on? if he has why end the series now? As has been mentioned recently, I think that's due to it being Universal putting on their back-catalogue of ALW shows as opposed to ALW himself! I guess Universal must be all out now.

Halfway through it and it's one of the best plays I’ve seen in a long time. This is one of the only pieces of theatre I’ve seen during lockdown that has translated really, really well to the screen. The energy was bursting through the screen and the acting is absolutely incredible and you can sense the energy from the audience too. Maybe that has something to do with it translating well on screen. And the fact that this was an archive recording makes that all the more impressive. So grateful to the NT and all involved for this!!
