I haven't been to see a panto for many years but due to my recently discovered crush on the Pritchard Brothers I went to see Curtis in Dick Whittington at the Wycombe Swan on Monday and absolutely loved it- I'd forgotten just how much fun they can be! As you might expect there were a few Love Island related jokes but also some very clever and witty one liners and a great tongue twister scene. The audience really seemed to enjoy it and the show itself was visually very impressive with some great sets and costumes. The Act One finale was particularly mesmerising. Overall a really fun and enjoyable couple of hours and I will definitely consider seeing another panto again next year.

Thanks for the replies lou & geweena. I finally managed to get through on the phone and they confirmed they had my order and re-sent my confirmation e-mail so I'm all set to go. Was lucky enough to get meet & greet tickets so am super excited for this! Roll on September!

Just booked my tickets (or at least I think I have- I have a transaction reference) but no booking confirmation e-mail yet. Is anyone else having this trouble?

In a further reply to laceyjames, I asked and found out that they think it is tricky to answer because it's not done it at the Royal Albert Hall before. They feel that there is quite a bit of space for spectators so would GUESS that if you queued up from around 10am you should be fine to get a wristband at 11am. Much of the time it’s passers-by who hang around to watch red carpets so I think if people are having to come early to collect a wristband it will probably be calmer. They hope that’s helpful, sorry they can’t advise more as they don’t really have a previous experience to draw upon. Thanks very much for this Theatre Monkey! That's really helpful! I guess the absence of the piazza may also have an effect although, like you say, it is hard to know with it being the first year at the Albert Hall. Will go along and see how the land lies on the day! At least it's meant to be nice weather for it!

Thanks Theatre Monkey and thanks for the welcome. I've had a quick look on there but there doesn't seem to be much information. Maybe more will be released nearer the time- I shall keep my eyes peeled.

Hi everyone!
This is my first post here but I've been lurking for a while.
My friend and I happen to be having a theatre weekend in London completely randomly coinciding with the Oliviers which we've never managed to do before. Sadly the tickets to the actual ceremony are beyond our budget but we thought we'd try and give the red carpet a go seeing as there appears to be no piazza event this year. According to the website the red carpet appears to be a wristbanded event which is fine as we've done this kind of thing before but I just wondered if anyone who has done this previously knows roughly how many wristbands are handed out and how busy it gets? Are there are lot of people (autograph touts) already queuing at silly-o-clock in the morning or is it usually a fairly select crowd of hardcore theatre lovers?
Sorry if I'm asking a stupid question, like I say, this will be our first experience of the Oliviers so we're just trying to gauge how things usually work and what our chances of getting in would be. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
