It was fine. I didn't mind. It's not like the general audience was for people who regularly post on message boards about theatre.

Your move, Pasek and Paul! I am surprised they would risk trying it out on the rich and famous. But then again, it may be years before anything affects his health A rich and famous older person is more likely to have the means to volunteer for this than an older person who's not, as well as deal with any weird side effects. (And if they're getting a wide range of ages for this trial, even better.)

But you just lauded the Vegas production despite them chopping 45 minutes out of it so that people could go on the slot machines. I don’t care whose decision it was, Hal Prince or otherwise, and you’re talking about “cheapening” the original? I would love if they brought over some scenic elements from the Las Vegas production over to her majesty's. I understand that the Mirror set was more elaborate, Christine walking through a fog silhouette of herself and other smaller things like a grand door for the managers office. It would still honour Hal and MB's legacy, though i wont expect Cam to be so generous. I saw it in Vegas twice and I LOVED it there. They leaned into the bombast and it was so much fun. Ever since then I've wished for a few of the Vegas elements to make their way into the more mainstream ones.

One of my coworkers and I have become pen pals! He actually works remotely full-time anyway, so I only get to see him once a year during "normal" circumstances. He sent me antibacterial gel that smells weird.

I certainly hope Ryan Murphy turns this into a miniseries at some point in his life.

When my bad back wakes me in the middle of the night, I switch on the World Service for a while. When I did this last night, by chance it was Sierra Boggess talking about the announcement, from Mars, I think, judging by the quality of the line. "Deeply saddened... Tragic... Two incredibly generous humans... Absolutely devastating..." You get the idea. Only one namecheck for ALW, from what I remember, but she was very gushing about CM. Found it on Twitter. A bland statement as expected, and one which heaped praise on Cameron Mackintosh and urged for financial support...to a billionaire producer.

Reading the actual article in the Evening Standard it does't come across as "It's gone forever". Which is a good reminder: BroadwayWorld rarely has any of their own original reporting anymore. Always read the source.

Which would've been good fodder for a West End Flea Market!

I wouldn't worry only because there's nothing any of us can do about it. I think a bleak version of curiosity works!

Also, wouldn't it be cheaper to leave it in there than to pay for storage? Or are they gutting the theatre?

I saw an excellent high school production of Hairspray on March 7. Before that, the last professional production of anything I saw was the Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat concert at Lincoln Center on Feb. 17.
Going through my photos, I realize the last two shows I saw on Broadway were on Jan 11 and 12 — American Utopia and The Book of Mormon. Wow!

I'm excited for this idea and I don't even have a car! I'm happy to see this kind of innovation while we have to deal with... well, everything.

I can't wait for all the mask fights in the audience! You thought telling someone to stop texting was bad...

That is such a weird tweet. Is he less in control of the property than one would assume?

Same here! I like broccoli, but broccolini has a more vibrant flavor.

www.nationalgeographic.com/history/2020/06/new-york-arts-scene-shuts-down-indefinitely-can-evolve-survive/ Comedian Wyatt Cenac worried that the city’s culture of creation will be even more gentrified than it was before.
“I think whatever bounce back that happens, that bounce back is probably going to benefit wealthy white people before it starts to benefit everybody else,” Cenac said. “That production of Hello, Dolly! may get back on its feet faster than theater made by a creator of color who’s doing a play that is a thought-provoking examination of race and class and culture. That may struggle and that's where I wonder, as things bounce back, if the bounce back centers a more homogenized view of what we consider art and creativity.
“What are the plays, what are the musicians, what are the comedians, what are the movies, the TV shows that people think of as sure bets? And you know history has told us that people unfortunately have a very racist view of what a sure bet is.”

Got up early to drop off compost. Ran some errands. Ate a cinnamon bun! Going to take a nap now. Have a Zoom birthday party to attend tonight.
Have a nice end of the weekend, everyone!
