James Graham was on Desert Island Discs this week and he chose Tammy Faye as one of his choices, they play a bit of Katie singing If You Came to See Me Cry – www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001x48w

Was it the Royal Opera House a few years ago who got a lot of media coverage because of people trying to smuggle vodka or another clear spirit in plastic bottles, so they banned anyone even bringing a bottle of water in for a while?

This has to be the most exhilarating night I've spent in a theatre in a long time. I don't think I blinked for the whole two hours for fear of missing even a second.

I'm afraid I didn't get on with this so well last night. I thought the concept was an interesting one but found the script lacking, the constant breaking of the fourth wall unbearable, the absurdist elements totally unwarranted and its arguments well-trod and delivered more like a Ted Talk than a play.

This made me really excited for the film, it looks great!
I dread to think how many different riffs they had Cynthia do before settling on that one. Didn't love it in isolation, but maybe with the rest of the song/film it will feel better.

I have a spare £10 ticket for tonight's performance, it's in row E of the stalls, if anyone fancies it? Pay what you can/happy for someone to just take it, rather than it go to waste!

Lottery is now open here – plazasuiteuk.com/lottery/Pleasantly surprised it's £20 for front row tickets, not £40 per ticket which I assumed was the case when they announced it.

Thoroughly enjoyed the final performance last night. Bernadette floored me with Losing My Mind, such a fully committed and deeply moving performance. A total masterclass in acting through song. She was leagues better in every one of her numbers than when I saw the show previously in early previews.
Still didn't really get Lea's Everything's Coming Up Roses though. It was loud and impressively belted but had no depth for me. Her Loving You is a much better showcase of her talents.
Bonnie is soooo hammy but you just can't help but feed off how much she absolutely adores being on the stage. I think it just about works for I'm Still Here.
Janie Dee and Joanna Riding though... chef's kiss.

I think because Nicole cancelled Friday/Saturday lots of people would’ve moved their tickets around this week. TKTS is always good but you need to get them early in the day. Thank you! I had my eye on one for 90 earlier today but it’s gone will try another day then. There's some £87.50 ones available now in the stalls if you're quick

Highly recommend the slip seats in the dress circle for this. We felt so close to the stage, to Bradley's wolf and to these legendary performers. I think there was one moment during one of the group numbers where we couldn't see them for a few seconds.

I totally forgot I'd booked the first preview of this tomorrow evening (thanks for the email reminder Southwark Playhouse)! And I'm double booked. If anyone fancies a pair of tickets, let me know. They were only £7.50 each, happy to take a tenner for both or any other offer to take them off my hands.

Saw this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, what a special experience they've created! We sat in the very back row (row R) for £15 and were very pleasantly surprised with the overall view. These are high seats with a bar to rest your feet, they got quite uncomfortable towards the end of each act. The booking warning is basically 'you'll have a good view of the stage but will miss any elevated scenes' and that's true and amounts to a few minutes in total – Galadriel's entrance in Lothlorien and the peak of Mount Doom was left entirely to our imagination, for instance. I think we did benefit from having some kids in front of us, meaning our view was even better. If there were adults in the row in front, you might be doing a bit of leaning to see things more clearly. The one thing I would say is that the show did feel quiet and could have benefited from some amplification in the circle section.
Starting the show outdoors was wonderful and really set the mood. Any 'audience participation' pre-show is so friendly and gentle, there's nothing to worry about. I played a game of whack the rat with Legolas, which was fun! I was impressed at how quickly the audience was moved indoors too. I didn't think ending the show outdoors was entirely necessary but it was really sweet nonetheless. Miraculously it poured with rain before the show but stopped at about 6:45 AND as the final notes of the music played out, it began to rain again, so we were very lucky.
I was bowled over by what they've been able to achieve in that tiny space with some ingenious lighting and sound choices. The talent and versatility of the cast is incredible too. And that music is just gorgeous!

Have they announced the creatives/who's written the score? That website is so sparse.

Does anyone ever have issues booking on the Almeida website? I’m trying to book a ticket for this on 18th August. It shows as having limited availability on this date but when I click the link, it says it’s sold out? The same thing happened to me when I tried to book for Streetcar here. Not sure if it’s just me? By chance I’ll be in London around that time and really want to grab a ticket if possible! It might because tickets are available but will only show with a certain promo code, perhaps held back for under25s or through a specific scheme, etc

I turned up at the Menier last night only to realise when my tickets were being checked that they were actually for Monday night... d'oh! First time I've ever done it that way round, turned up a day early a few times though. So, I'm rather selfishly glad that it seems I didn't miss much when I opted to get pancakes instead of trying for any returns.

There are two rows in the grand circle for £20, the next price band is £37.50 (front row of the grand circle and the very back rows). Back couple of rows of the stalls are £47.50 and then it's £67.50, £87.50, £117, £125, £147 and £175. This is for previews anyway
