I saw this on New Years Eve, and was actually VERY impressed overall, although I went with fairly low expectations.
Besides the things mentioned by others, the overall sound was excellent, with some great playing from the band, and some great performances from the leads.
Very of it's time though, but shame it's closing early.

Anyone know the orchestration for this production? Not sure if it will be exactly the same in London but in Newcastle there was a nine piece band. Musical director/piano Drums/percussion Bass Violin Trumpet/Flugelhorn Trumpet Trombone Flute/clarinet/alto sax Clarinet/bass clarinet/tenor sax Thanks! Will see who's on it. Hopefully get to see it in London.

Went yesterday (Wednesday). Rachel Tucker did both shows (I was there at night), the Wizard was an understudy though.
As impressed as ever with Tucker, certainly different to the last time I saw her a few years ago though, but as mentioned above, the overall sound wasn't as good as previously. I was in left stalls, K32 (aisle) and the band were unbalanced a few times through the desk (the electric instruments, not musician balance), a couple of very loud guitar interjections, and an overpowering Bass drum that seemed to get swiftly turned down.
Also the ensemble on stage was iffy in a couple of spots ( a few W-Wick-ckeds) and the intonation at the start of act 2 in the chorus was very noticeably suspect.
Picking holes though, still loved it!

So what are the indications of a Tucker appearance on Wednesday Evening, considering the no show on Saturday night?

I'm down next Wednesday (25th) evening to see Rachel (hopefully!). Seen it once or twice every year since it came to London as I know someone in the band (great prices and seats!) and she's by far my favourite of all the Elphebas. I've seen every "January" Elpheba and a few other random time of year ones.
Anyway, hope she's on (I'm there regardless).

Only just signed up after losing the WoS forum (that's how irregularly I visit!) but I'm friendly with a lot of musicians in town, and the players I know that have jumped to this are pretty top notch, and well known in music circles. Some leaving very secure shows to do this.
