I planned to recce the new journey to work, which I did, but then the day turned into an epic potter around every small green space between Spa Fields (Farringdon) and Vauxhall Park. So lovely. This discovery was probably my favourite. Only became aware of it becasue of children laughing and the sound carrying (no traffic today in the West End!). tbh, I think it's a repurposed burial ground: www.ianvisits.co.uk/blog/2018/08/22/londons-pocket-parks-drury-lane-gardens-wc2/So interesting. A friend once took me to Postman’s Park where they have plaques commemorating heroic deeds. These little places are so fascinating. Can’t wait to get back to a walk in the City area. Too far for me to get there ‘as exercise.’

Enjoyable programme, not too much chat and they showed the whole of each dance. No surprises for the number 1 spot. Delicious. And didn’t the judges look so close together? Ugh, they wont go back to that.

As I contemplate the the tight onesie with the hole on the bum in the ad below, here to say, pop onto the board if you get fed up, DM me, have a little moan. Been a terrible year. But as was once painted on the side of Brummie Buses - FORWARD.

If she took off her mask to speak to two old deaf ladies so tat could understand what she was saying, then good on her. Looked liked that from the fuzzy photo. And if she let it slip because she needed to take a deep breath after focusing on a funeral then just let her off for goodness sake. She isn’t my fave rave either but 1. I’m not a Scot and 2. She is woman doing her best which is ok by me. (And also she is a good sport a la Jane Godley )

You do know that HRVY and Maisie had a fling? Apparently a little snog after the end of the show, thus breaking a bubble but perhaps forming another...... honestly I can’t believe I’m saying this.

Watched this just now. Excellent and imaginatively done. We managed to see it on big screen tv with a cable Who knew? Well I do now. It did pull me in and the music was lovely.

lynette speak for yourself, I’m sure for most (Dover permitting) getting lighter from today will be the last thing that is happening. 😂 I did not mean metaphorically! There is a reason they placed Xmas when they did in northern hemisphere. On the back of the winter pagan festivals , it gives us something to look forward to. I always wonder why they didn’t find something for end of January too. Or maybe they did and I don't know it. Come Feb we have Valentine’s Day but I hate that to be honest.

On literal the brighter side of life. The sunset in London today at 15:53, compared to yesterday when it set at 15:52. Those one minutes do add up eventually. I think we get lighter from today!

The Thursday books are very good if you like that kind of thing. For me, it wore off after one book. Peggs, your sister should def ride her bike round with its box and we can all chuck pressies at her. Will start a trend.

Maisie sensational audition for the West End and I wish her luck. Hrvy sweet chap Jamie should get signed up for ad campaign for something.... Bill a mature, very musical man who certainly slogged on his ‘journey’ Somehow seems the appropriate winner for this year. I enjoyed his three dances. And I bet he got the old ‘uns vote. Frankly the production team should get an award for getting this on this year.

It is what we would generally term ‘utter crap’ all round. People stranded alone when they thought they would meet up with family or friends. Tickets cancelled, food in the wrong place, people in the wrong place. Genuine suffering. Genuine hardship and sadness. Walk away from the tension, find ways to connect. Sorry to sound a bit trite but we need to look towards eachother and not squabble. I’ll pop back into my basket now.

I agree, women ( sorry it is mostly women) all over the area will be cursing for having bought food, made up beds, wrapped and spent a lot of dosh etc etc and now family ain’t coming. Possibly. I’m not tuned into the press conference. It would have been better to to keep the restrictions as they were, that is whatever they are in your area. And to say that would be the case back in October. So whatever you are in when Xmas comes, you stay in over Xmas. This hopping about makes nonsense of everything.

Hi people. Just want to say that if anyone is feeling really sh*tty over Xmas, on their own or cheesed off whatever, then DM me. I’m happy to chat and I will be around, not entertaining or cavorting or anything. I won’t be on my own myself ( he is contractually obliged to stay with me 😂 ) but would be happy to listen, chat or email or FaceTime even! Don’t suffer in silence.

I would like to see this again and I don't usually do twice. I’m reading the big of TS which is very interested. So often he has been criticised for being ‘intellectual’ ( he didn't go to uni btw) but now an older writer this play has him on the stage exposed I think and all emotion. All.

I'm pretty angry that in tier 3 I'm allowed to go to a church, mosque, synagogue etc but not an art gallery/theatre. I can't see that there is any difference in risk at all for theatre which is essentially the same set up as a church and the risk is surely less in a gallery as you can manage the number of people moving around between rooms etc. These places are so important to people's well-being and valuing religion over culture is an extremely poor decision. So I am not alone.

I’m coming round to thinking that the loosening of the rules for Xmas is to save all the journos the trouble of rewriting the ‘Preparations for Xmas’ acres of columns in the newspapers, not to mention the ads. Very little accommodation of our present circumstances. The elaborate food offerings being put forward are frankly, obscene. I’m not a spoilsport....quiet at the back there.....but more thought would be appreciated.

I despair. I can't see how Tier 3 will make any more difference than Tier 2 to the spread, as it doesn't address the main problem, which is the people who don't care and are just meeting up in private gatherings and in public anyway. They are all still going to go Christmas shopping whether London is Tier 2 or Tier 3! Why should I and many others who are complying with social distancing and mask wearing be left even more miserable when the real culprits aren't being dealt with at all? A change of tactic is needed - I don't know what the solution is, but the tier system does not seem to be working at all. I will be fuming if I can't get to West End Musical Christmas, I've had enough cancelled by ineffective tier rules already! Couldn’t agree more. I’m not going to the theatre, too soon for me, but I am hoping to see the kids, albeit in the garden, heavy coats and boots etc, before Xmas. When we were in the so called second lockdown, so not even garden meets allowed, we saw people flocking to the parks and it was silly, crowded more than a Bank Holiday weekend. So it will make no difference to those people but a hell of a difference to those of us who are just keeping to the rules, have been from the start. Do the restaurateurs ask for DNA proof that you are from the same household when you trundle in to save their business. Don’t think so. Then hey ok to allow three households actually INSIDE over Xmas. So no, cant even meet your kids in the garden if we go to 3 but yes, you can meet cousin Bill from a completely different city over five days Xmas. Bonkers doesn’t even get close.

Covent Garden was busy today with the street performers. Social distancing? What’s that? Can’t say I blame people. London in general felt busy. “Over it” as they say. I wish it were. Seeing the photos from today, long lens allowing, just makes me feel less inclined to go to the shops or visit attractions. I do not begrudge the ‘young’ but anecdotal evidence from my age range isn't very jolly, not yet.

Climb Every Mountain... really doesn't suit her voice. Not sure she ever attempt that sort of repertoire. Very painful at the start I prefer the Mother Superior. In the movie version. 😂

Just a reminder that we are basically a theatre interest group, yes, diverse and with many different individual opinions. The chat threads have become very important this year. However, bear in mind that we are supporting eachother because of our shared love of all things theatre.
