I've still got a hunch that there's news on the way!
Fingers crossed.

Bringing it back to the show? Is it any good? I have heard so many mixed reports. Will it make it to the west end again? Reviews aren't an indicator of success; ticket sales are, and the tour has been pretty much a sell out. Breakfast at Tiffany's (with Pixie Lott) had largely horrible reviews and it managed a limited transfer to the West End.

I've only seen Alexandra and Beverley. Bev has an incredible voice but I prefer Alexandra's tone to Bev's. I thought Alex carried the dramatic moments better, too. Rachel John was fab as Nikki and I would have loved to have seen her as Rachel. I'm sure she'll excel in Hamilton. I find Heather Headley's voice slightly shrill- she's a fantastic talent but just my opinion. I never saw Zoe Birkett but she's got a good voice.

I live in Dublin and these types of ticket deals never seem to be here! Unless I'm completely clueless and missing out.

I wonder if they'll go with a 'name' for the tour- it would probably sell well without it at this stage.
Rachel John will be in Hamilton but she would have been a terrific Rachel full time. I never saw Carole Stennett.
I can't imagine Beverley going back on tour?

For what? I assume since you've put her name in here you're suggesting her for a part in the show. She's too young for Alice, too old for Ellie - I guess she could work for the Hatter, but they'd have to take her songs down like in Sister Act, everything we know of her already suggests she wouldn't be able to sing them as they are. No thanks. I think it was a joke and a reference to the fact that people are discussing her career in the Sister Act thread rather than the actual thread for her. I can't imagine her in this at all.

I heard she may play sandy in grease. Has anyone heard this. As grease may be coming back to the west end. Oh interesting, thanks for sharing! I can see her as Sandy and she would certainly sell in West End. Funny as the current tour has no diversity in it.. I was really hoping she was going to be Lauren in KB for a few monthsI'm kind of upset that's not true Nothing at all has been confirmed; I would take the Sandy rumour with a pinch of salt to be honest.

She's in talks for a takeover in a long running west end show. A role that will be the first in the show's history and good for them for thinking of it. Cryptic I know but you'll soon find out. I'm sure you can't say much either way, but any news on whether this has come to anything or if it's fallen through? I know this should be in another thread, but this was before we created one.

I'm beginning to think the talks for this historical-first role takeover in a long-running show have come to naught... She had a photoshoot for something the other day, which she said she was excited to share. I don't think it's another weight loss thing as new ads for that came out the other day. We'll have to wait and see.

What happened to Sarah Goggin? I thought she was down to do the whole tour? No idea...illness, personal reasons- maybe a bigger role on the horizon? She was great.

^Good plan!
I haven't seen Joanna yet, but hopefully before the tour ends. I presume she'll be leading the return to Dublin as Alexandra will be finished then- though it's not clear on the website yet.
It's always nice to see what difference a cast change brings.

^It finishes in Dublin, in early September.
No news on a West End transfer since, but open to correction.
Alice Stokoe has replaced Sarah Goggin as Sr Mary Robert. Alice was in American Idiot and Mamma Mia, previously.
Sarah was excellent so I'll be interested to see what Alice brings to it.

I hope it's a decent role and not something like Thriller Live; that would be dreadful.

Deena isn't meant to have a great voice. My understanding from the movie was that Deena was supposed to have a more 'radio friendly' and 'commercial' voice than Effie, while Effie's is more 'soulful'. There's one line in the movie where Deena's mother is watching her sing lead and she comments that she didn't think Deena had a great voice. It's a bit absurd because obviously she has a different type of voice, but she's still incredible.

If she gets Eponine is she going to be able to do it without sticking her finger in her ear? You'd be disappointed if she didn't!

She was Rachel Marron in the West End for a short time, and on the 'Bodyguard' UK and Ireland tour for what seemed like forever. Now she's starring in 'Sister Act'. What's next for Alex?

^ I had briefly considered that she could be cast as Simba but I'm sure that's complete pie in the sky! I'm not sure how they would deal with the rest of the characters and relationship with Nahla etc. So, I'll just park that.

This is just a complete and utter guess but what about Mary Poppins if it returns to London? Personally I'd love her to be Lauren in Kinky Boots She certainly couldn't sing the title role, not in a million years (because of how it's written). Lauren in Kinky Boots is a fair shout. I just don't rate her... Les Mis roles she shouldn't touch I do rate her but because she's just done the 'diva' roles so far, it's hard to know what else she could turn her hand to. As for not touching roles- we live in a world where Sarah Harding was cast in Ghost! Money talks and if producers think she'll bring in punters, it could literally be anything. Though I suspect she's savvy enough not to take on something she feels she can't do justice to- she did turn down the Bodyguard when offered to her originally; ostensibly due to not feeling confident enough in herself for the role. Let's see how things pan out...

Could be Les Mis.
