Also I hate having two intervals though you don't see that much these days. Maybe not for plays but two intervals are still common for opera & ballet. I don't mind them too much most of the the time but I do find it annoying when - this seems to be most common for Wagner - one of the two intervals is up to an hour long to give people time to have a meal. As someone who never eats when theatregoing, that's a complete waste of time for me. I worked for several seasons at Glyndebourne Opera. It takes a large technical crew to do the enormously complex and labour intensive set change for most of their productions. We were pretty much always working right up to the bell for house open and needed every second we could get of that hour or so. I know this isn't always the case, but watching 5 hours of Götterdämmerung without an extended interval would be torture...
