Just looking at the casting for their Tempest in March. Of course for such a small space there is lots of doubling of parts but one doubling is potentially very interesting in the context of the play and I’ve never seen it done before, same actor playing Ferdinand and Caliban, the two “suitors” of Miranda. Kirsty Bushell as Miranda i see. Must be the first actress to play that role having already played Regan in Lear and Ravenskaya in Cherry Orchard!! Definitely the first to have also played Sebastian in The Tempest (RSC). Odd. I wonder what Tom Littler has in mind.

What he says... Something about Beckett which pulls you in and you just don’t know how he does it. I mean the second piece was a guy sitting doing nothing except everything. All that faffing about you see with some plays these days which try to tell us what to think, well, come and look at this stuff. Except it was the last night last night..so moving on, try The Tempest coming up next. Jermyn St the place to be this season.
