Gawd. It's a bit pricey for a short, one woman show!

Saw this in Edinburgh; keen to see this updated version but will need to wait for offers... Those of you there last night apparently saw some new stuff, very hot from the writer's pen... Yes :-) on two particular topics, and it was much enjoyed by all!

Gawd. It's a bit pricey for a short, one woman show! Yeah, even at half price its a little on the steep side. Its a shame they just didn't price it at 20 quid from the outset, sure it would lead to more revenue from the run overall.

there was Madonna and Harry and Meghan stuff in on Wednesday, so there is new stuff since then, given the tweet was dated the 7th?

I saw this this afternoon and absolutely loved it. I was crying with laughter at several points and loved the crazy and catchy music. Didn’t realise that it’s not open yet but will definitely be going again. It’s such an amazing performance by Frances Barber.

I enjoyed this one yesterday and I went in without knowing anything about the character, except what I googled the night before. I think this works even if one knows nothing about Closer to Heaven, mind you there were some laughs and knowing murmur at certain points from the audience so I think people who went in with the prior knowledge must have got some extra out of this.
I especially loved the songs, those were good on their own merit, and her voice and delivery reminded me of M.Faithful whom I love. My partner loved the "Soup" so it just shows people enjoy different things compared to others.
My only criticism is that the whole show is build on referencing past and current events & people. It's only funny if one knows those references and I must admit I was often lost and it's so fast paced there isn't time for the brain to digest it. Either you get it straight away or not.
The language is quite crude as others said it, but I thought it fitted the story and the character. It worked so I wasn't bothered by it.
I did a bit of googling of closer to heaven today and I really enjoyed what is up on youtube, I hope it will be revived.
