There are many people Who are black Or women Or both And are major role models Naomi Campbell And you've lost all authority with that response. Naomi Campbell is universally acknowledged to be as personally toxic, violent and unprofessional as she is beautiful. And she is one of the most beautiful women in the world.

But why *her*? When was the last time they went after, say, Kier Starmer or Emily Thornberry with the same ferocity they frequently go after Abbott? Well, according to Parsley, because she's the worst at her job.

I was being ironic as Diane has often played the race card and the name of the band seemed to suit. Maybe her and Catweazle Corbyn could do a duet for Xmas, Oh, you were 'ironically' calling attention to and mocking her race, shortly after you insisted that any criticism of her has nothing to do with her race. Are you actually this nasty or just on the wind-up? I am winding people up. My politics are Conservative with a small c. I'd describe myself as very politically incorrect but not prejudiced against someone on skin colour. I think racism and prejudice based on skin colour or faith are different. People say they don't like the French, Australians etc and that could be called racism. The Scottish not liking the English is always a running story. I'm not a fan of Diane's politics and I do think she might be a person more likely to play on being black than say Chuka, Clive Lewis, David Lammy etc. I don't think the Tory press "having it in for her" is anything to do with her race, they certainly ridiculed Jeremy Corbyn much more than her IMO. I don't think Diane is particularly up to her job as Shadow Home Secretary but Jeremy wants his allies like Diane and John McDonnell in key positions. When someone mentioned that Sir Kier Starmer wasn't ridiculed as much as Diane this is because Kier is seen as a very able politician who held top office before becoming an MP. Likewise Chuka Umunna was rumoured to be the guy the Tories didn't want as Labour Leader due to him being very effective and being called a British Obama. I rate Chuka but I don't put him in Obama's class yet. If anyone was interested the song that Corbyn and Abbott should do as a duet is Melting Pot by Blue Mink. It was sung by a black woman Maggie Bell - who has stared in a number of stage productions and Roger Cook - not the TV guy.

A master of irony and a wind up merchant.
How daring. Aren't we lucky you're here with us.
And no I wasn't interested.

I'm a lifelong Labour member and voter. I think she is a great MP but does not have the skill to be a minister/shadow minister.
Real thorn in Labour's side.

The Daily Mail targeted Diana Abbot specifically, incidentally the same newspaper has asked reporters to turn their car round, when going to investigate a murder, when they learn the victims are black.

Some MPs are very good constituency MPs but they would not be good in Government roles. Although I've mainly voted Tory I'd imagine that Labour MPs would probably be better constituency MPs than a number of Tories. The more left wing MPs like say Dennis Skinner and the aforementioned Diane would probably relish getting stuck into big companies on their constituents' behalf.
If a play was done about Corbyn and Abbott, I wonder who'd play them. I could imagine Peter Capaldi as Corbyn if he grew a beard. Tameka Empson sprang to mind for Diane but she might be a bit young and if she was cast then it might be seen as a bit of a comedy portrayal. Dona Croll or Marianne Jean Baptiste were two more possibles I thought of. If they ever wanted to do Corbyn and Abbott back in the early years then Wunmi Mosaku would be a good choice.

Personally I think there is no better role model black or white than Doreen Lawrence, unfortunately she had to suffer personal tragedy to come to the public attention.
