Right theatreboard, for once I find myself theatrically stumped... I'm bringing the Mother to London with me on 8th April as we are going to the Southwark on the 9th to see a short play I have on (shameless plug in Noticeboard) But as I'd not planned on being in London at this point there's nothing pressing on my list.
So what should we see on the 8th? preference for something cheerful (or at least one of the two) and something for which reasonably priced tickets can be procured...(play or musical, WE or Fringe...)

Well for me it would be either The Play That Goes Wrong or A Comedy About A Bank Robbery, either would cheer the mascara off...

Honk at the Union? It's top of my list to see!
Park Theatre is always a nice place to visit; Bush will be reopened again by then I think - another place with a nice bar (I do look for other things in a theatre, honest). And how about Wilton's Music Hall? I reckon that would be a nicely unusual place to take a mum - think How to Succeed will be on then.
Would she like to watch old people being filthy in Seventeen in Hammersmith??

An American in Paris (get the "restricted view" aisle seats in the first couple of rows of the circle as they're cheap and the view is hardly obstructed at all) or it seems 42nd Street is being pretty much universally recommended (can't speak for myself until I see it on Saturday).

Thanks all! poster J saw 'An American in Paris' in New York and (shhhh) didn't like it much but 42nd St is a definite possibility! Mrs L...I assume you're taking the mick? anyway the combination of Miranda an Annie makes me want to scratch my own eyes out with a rusty nail (sure she's a lovely woman and all...) @abby My Mother is always up for a bit of filth so not a bad idea (as is Honk! I'd forgotten that was on...) |

You could give the £20 Friday Rush a go - Saturday 8th will go on sale a week today, gives you another week to sort something else out if you don't get tix.
