I've seen that video too, they seemed to be a bit of a novelty act though and I can't help but think they were loving every moment to be honest! They were a pop act that never should have been booked at an indie/alt/rock festival. They had two songs and both were awful and yet i still remember them. Stick You and U.G.L.Y (you ain't got no alibi, you ugly!) And so concludes my TED Talk on D&C. Back to 42md Street... The last time I saw a tour of this was in 1990, in Birmingham. It was the first UK tour with the wonderful Meg Johnson. It was a huge production identical to the original and at the time, the staircase they used was fabulous. It probably looks cheap these days, but it was a real moment when it appeared.

I’m very excited. I’m a huge fan of Ruthie’s but have never actually seen her live, so I’m thrilled I already have tix for this!

Interesting to see excitement about the casting. Two of the leads are usually slated on here.

I think Ruthie and Adam will be great actually - Ruthie will be playing a diva and she'll excel, and if Lulu could sing it well enough at Drury Lane, Ruthie will be fine.
Less convinced by Nicole as Peggy as she was the weakest link in Anything Goes by a mile, and Les Dennis seems a weird choice for Bert...

Several ensemble members returning from the last London production, I notice. It seems like a very small ensemble if that's everyone?

I’m torn - Ruthie will be fab and I want to see her, but my memories of the Drury Lane production are so special that I’m scared this (understandably) smaller production will just seem disappointing by comparison. I’m sure Bill Deamer will do a great job with the choreo though. And yes, Being Alive, Nicole’s casting is a concern after her damp performance in AG (although her dancing was good, so that’s something).

Hopefully Nicole won’t go out on tour with it, because she was deffo a disappointment in AG. Every time she took centre stage the energy completely slumped.

Why oh why do tour stops always have to put up with different casts? Bigger venues often on tour but not the option of the star casting

Drury Lane production holds so many special memories for me that I don't think anything will ever compare, but I do think I'll give it a go and hopefully be pleasantly surprised.

Adam Garcia has got me interested, more so than Ruthie. Although she has been around for a long time I don't think I've seen her perform on stage more than one or twice. No idea why, maybe she has been in musicals I've not wanted to see.

I saw a clip of the Drury Lane We’re in the Money the other day, which was stunning. I’d forgotten how many dancers they put on that stage. Will be a very tough act to follow.
