Gosh, she's magnificent. I really can't wait for this now - and with the cancelled first preview, I'm not actually attending the first show on the Monday!

Can't wait for this, I absolutely loved it on Broadway and after Comet it was by far the best musical I saw in 2016/2017 season.
It is just a beautiful show!

I was fairly sure it's 100 mins straight through on Broadway so would expect it to run slightly longer

They’ve added standing room tickets for the first few performances. I managed to get a cheeky last minute ticket for the first preview. Can’t wait!

Have they been selling seats in Circle C for this or are they all just sold out?

First preview went completely smooth and finished at exactly 9:10pm as promised (there was an extra number with the band after that, though).

Sensational. First preview and very few hitches (couple of tiny line things but otherwise spot on). Stunning cast - Miri Mesika as Dina is mesmerising, with her 'Omar Sharif' flawless. Gorgeous production, magical band (on stage and off).
Can't wait to see it again - my musical of the year so far.

Oh my, this was good. Every moment was just perfect. An adult musical that is not afraid to be poetic, thoughtful, subtle, smart and heartbreakingly beautiful. Such a rarity! I didn't know anything about it beyond the central premise, but I've been wanting to see it for ages as I'd just felt it'd be up my street, and it didn't disappoint. Completely mesmeric and the best musical I've seen in a long time. So often musicals can feel compromised or made by committee. Why can't more musicals be like this?!

Well I may have to add this to my upcoming London trip despite having seen it a few times on Broadway.

Does Donmar Warehouse tend to extend successful productions or do they stick to the announced booking period? I really want to see The Band's Visit but cannot make it to London until 6 December .

I don't believe they extend as their programme is planned out well in advance but they occasionally transfer.

Has anyone tried the standing section yet? Going on Saturday for my second visit and standing. My friend bad a standing ticket on Monday and was given a seat at 7.28 - they fill any gaps

Has anyone tried the standing section yet? I stood for the first preview. View was ok, but it will be affected by your height - if you're shorter, you'll have more trouble seeing the action. For a standing section, it was comfortable enough, as there's space to lean on behind the last row. And you're obviously super close to the actors anyway, so it was not difficult for me to get moved by the story.

On the strength of the early good notices here I’ve booked for mid-October. I know absolutely nothing about the show - I’ve no idea of the story, I’ve never heard anything from the score - and am going to see if I can keep it that way. I can’t actually think of a time where I’ve gone in to a show without knowing anything at all and it’ll be an interesting experiment!

I found a last minute singular stalls seat available and booked it on a whim. It's a really nice piece, very poetic. Definitely worth seeing.

Why such a fuss over the term "the masses"? Is the word inherently pejorative to some?
I took its use here to (rightly) mean, this is not the type show that audiences typically expect when seeing a musical. That was commonly said about the show throughout its Broadway run. It is a quiet show with subject matter musicalized less frequently.
But perhaps the crossover London audience between &Juliet or Six and The Band's Visit is quite massive and I am completely mistaken.
