Had a great time seeing this tonight!
It's funny that I've been putting off seeing this for a long time thinking it's not really my thing...it's the best show I've seen for a while and a real feel good evening!
The cast are incredible and the energy is infectious.
I'll be back!

Also thank you david for your advice on loud noises. It makes me feel like a child but it really affects my enjoyment of a show. I was absolutely fine with this so you were quite right! I'm hoping one day I'll just get over it and it won't worry me anymore. Until then I'm very grateful for all of the help I get from fellow board members.

Sometimes it’s best to know this stuff beforehand so at least you know it’s coming. It’s the unexpected noises and gunshots that get me! The show is is great fun isn’t it? I loved it because I could just switch off and not have to concentrate. It’s just theatrical fluff with some great songs to create of a party atmosphere. As I said in my post show review,I think the staging could have been better if given more money and space but the cast were fantastic. I definitely would watch it again if I was down in London.

Warwick Davis was on LBC being 'interviewed' by Steve Allen (luckily it wasn't just about Steve and his obsession with brussel sprouts and halogen ovens.) This was on at 6.00 am and I only caught the end, but he was talking interestingly about Eugenius. It's repeated tomorrow at 9.00 pm or available on their website.
I absolutely loved the show last time round and was sat behind Warwick and his family.

Saw this last night and loved it. Yes it’s daft but very funny at times and some of the songs are terrific. All the cast are very good and the two leads are really excellent . A standing ovation throughout the theatre. They’re doing a 2 for 1 on Monday to Thursday on top two price bands which makes it great value. Code is EUGALLSTARS.

Some kind of announcement at 7pm tonight via their social media platforms. Looks to be the fan page, not the official Eugenius page.

I wonder if another extension is in the works? It hasn't seemed to of sold quite as well as the previews run, so I don't know for sure if it could justify another extension?

Saw this on Tuesday and loved it. The whole cast were spot on, some brilliant performances. Yes the plot is mad but thought the music was excellent. What a lovely venue too, my first time at the OP. Looked full from where we were.

I saw this Eugenius this afternoon and found it to be okay.
As everyone have said it was wacky, self aware, not taking itself seriously, full of pop culture references, making fun of things. Just like Toxic Avenger, Carrie, Xanadu and Loserville did
And that’s my problem with this. I’ve seen it before. Done better in my opinion. I didn’t find the story and characters very interesting until Neil McDermott turns up on earth in the second act. He was the funniest aspect of the show for me
Not bad, but nothing special for me

Saw this on Saturday. I'm a huge fan of Galavant and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, so Eugenius was right up my alley and I enjoyed it a lot, but I can't help thinking it could be so much better would they do more with this in terms of genre deconstruction, add more parody/cliches mocking, break the fourth wall a couple of times and so on. Still, it's a very fun show and the cast is superb (I bet Daniel Buckley was great as Elder Cunningham). Wish there was a cast recording of the current cast.

I adore it but equally i think it could go further on this too. Perhaps if it has more development before a further life it will. I'm currently trying not to buy myself a ticket for Saturday, convinced I should see something I haven't already. And yet I do long for a comic book kind of love...

I'm currently trying not to buy myself a ticket for Saturday, convinced I should see something I haven't already. And yet I do long for a comic book kind of love... I thought I was completely fine with seeing it just once, but since Saturday I've listened to the cast recording quite a few times and now want to see it again badly, but unfortunately there's no chance. So just hoping it will have a further life (and the writers are lurking around the board so will be able to incorporate our feedback ).

What a lovely little show this is. I saw it on Friday and it just hit all the right buttons for me. The music, the all-around perfect performances and not least all the little lovely nods to the 80s (my decade!).
I think it might just be able to do a "Jamie" and enjoy a longer run in a smaller West End house, if they beefed up the set and tweaked things a little here and there. I don't often walk out of a theatre thinking "I need to see this again" but I'd definitely book for Eugenius again if it came back somewhere.

Enjoyed this again yesterday. The biggest change for me was Super Hot Lady, she's quite a different character now. A lot more geared towards a comedy character and airhead bimbo type character than she was before. I also think that strangely, this ia a case of a show where the lead character really isn't the star of the show. When I saw it last I thought my issue was the guy playing Eugene, but again even with Rob playing him I just thought i was far more interested and entertained by others. Neil is excellent as Lord Hector. Laura and Dan excellent as ever. I really wish they would have given the Theo character more to do this time around, Scott is a star.
Good fun, catachy songs, hope it continues to have a life.

I was back again Saturday. I had a spare afternoon and was taking a friend out for the afternoon after they had passed their PhD viva, and what better way for two super geeks to celebrate (our friendship is founded on being sci fi/movie geeks, and musical theatre geeks) And we loved it! I saw the first preview of this run, and it's really tightened up as you'd expect. I just adore this musical. As viserys says above it just presses all the right buttons for me: subject matter I love and identify with, references to things I love (80s films and bad sci fi) and being frankly camp as Christmas. I also just caught myself singing 'Doing the No Pants Dance' while making coffee and doing a little dance. (I had clothes on before anyone asks).

Forgive my ignorance but (given that this show has had various incarnations) if i'm listening to the cast recordings am I listening to all of the songs being performed in this current production, or am I listening to the odd song here and that that may have been cut/replaced?
Thanks

Transferring to The Ambassadors currently booking 27 October to 5 January.
I think all the songs are on the recording, but they’re performed by a mix of Ben Adams and some of the cast from the concert version including Amy Lennox.

Thanks Tom!
Do we know if they usually do a Wednesday matinee at the Ambassadors? I have almost everything booked for my theatre trip, and I will only be able to see this if they do.
