The Other Palace is an awful name so hopefully he changes it back to the St. James or the Westminster or something else entirely.

The problem with calling it the St James or the Westminster is it isn't really in either!
It should really be called the Taxpayer Funded, as I suspect, based on absolutely nothing, some of the purchase price came from the Culture Recovery Fund.

Blood Brothers in here for another 10 years or so? I'm only joking but it would probably sell given the size of the main space. Not sure there is enough stage room though!

The Piglets restaurant upstairs was really nice. Hope they return.

This feels like a good idea tbh - IF a fixed company could work as a rep and perform runs of new musicals in the 'off days'. A surefire hit would be subsidising new writing. Nobody has really cracked how to get new musicals into production on a regular basis, and I'm not convinced that some very good new shows have the necessary oomph to stand alone. A part-time showing in rep, from a company that build a following and fans want to see doing other things, might be a way forward...?

I wonder is he going to be putting his own touring shows in there for short runs. My local theatre just announced their next season and as well as Blood Brothers, there’s a play called Catch Me if You Can starring Patrick Duffy. I know it’s a long time since Dallas was on TV, but he still seems a bit high profile to be touring the mid-sized provincial theatres of the UK.

I would love to see Cilla finally playing London. Is Sheridan still up for it? If not, would be absolutely incredible to see Kara Lily Hayworth singing those songs again.

So disappointing - yet somehow predictable. This interview is fascinating, truly reveals himself as someone with much ego and little vision What's On Stage article

Second show is Be More Chill. I hate it here Well AT LEAST I will see that, wasn't blown away in NYC but grew on me then COVID HAPPENED. Was away for the limited run in town. I just find that lazy programming.

I hope they are putting in a couple of known shows just to get things going. Would be horrible to take a risk for the first show and have it flop.

Remind me, how did you access the studio space. My mind’s gone completely blank.

I forget who it was, but I read someone on here say ages ago that whenever Paul Taylor Mills says anything it’s like he’s accepting a lifetime achievement award, and they’re really not wrong😂

Remind me, how did you access the studio space. My mind’s gone completely blank. Once you go through the double doors, you pass the entrance to the main space on the left, and then their are some stairs that go down. Or you can take the lift next to the bar.

At least Heather's and Chill (if it comes back in) have original scores.
I wonder what will now happen to the Turbine? I never thought the theatre ever really landed or settled in. Hoepfully with increased covid vaccinations and the tube extension it now will.

Hoepfully with increased covid vaccinations and the tube extension it now will. The Turbine is still difficult to get to, even with the new Battersea Power tube station - but that will change I think. At the moment the Power Station is still being converted into shops/housing, which means you walk around a huge site to get to it, and the Turbine Theatre. I presume there will be a straight line cut through to the power station when its complete. If not Battersea Power would be a daft name as it feels nowhere near the Battersea Power Station itself. So - given that, I think Paul Taylor-Mills has done incredibly well to get the Turbine to where it is. I guess the Turbine becomes one of the Fringe venues he's talked about, and a hit new piece or revival there could get a further life at The Other Palace. Conversely, something tried out in the Studio of The Other Palace would be scaling up if it went to the Turbine?

I agree PT-M and his team have done great job in setting it up. This is the wrong place for it but should the tube station at Battersea be renamed Battersea Power Station Station?!

I didn’t see Millenials live at MT Fest, I watched the stream and I was really looking forward to it but it just didn’t hold my interest at all.

I think there are worse shows to be stuck with to be fair (Thriller 🙄).
I just wish it had been around longer in the 2018-19 period because it was one of my favourites back then but I’ve kind of outgrown it a bit now.

Agree there are worse shows to be stuck with, Thriller being a great example.
But Heathers seems to have been done to death, The Other Palace is all about for showcasing new stuff or it was.
In all this new season announcement is well very tedious.
