Most TV audiences have no idea the level of true talent and technique that musical theatre requires. To them, this is acceptable! But we know better 😁

I knew Amanda Holden would be in this thread before I even clicked!
She doesn't have a totally unpleasant voice, she's just not a SINGER, yet for years the West End has, for reasons beyond my understanding, been desperately trying to make her one.
There's just nothing about her voice or technique or manner or character or interpretation that makes you in any way interested in the song.
I actually don't totally dislike her as a person, I just have no real interest in her either.

Chicago is probably a rich seam. I saw Gaby Roslin as Mama abd she was exactly what you would expect. Useless!
Graham Norton was also rotten in La Cage.

Also Kimberley Walsh's album. She's a lovely woman with a nice enough voice, but she should be steering clear of all of those iconic songs.

Chicago is probably a rich seam. For me it was Alison Moyet. Great voice, but she could give a tree lessons on how to be wooden.

Anyone who's not a trained singer on ITV's Musical All-stars

Anyone who's not a trained singer on ITV's Musical All-stars Yes, but I'd let them off as it's more of a "stars in their eyes" type of thing. Gabby Roslin in Chicago though? Yikes!

Chicago is probably a rich seam. Definitely. Both times I've seen it had awful performers as Billy. Marti Pellow was..well Marti, but he wasn't quite as bad as John Altman fresh out of Eastenders.

I suppose we’re treading a fine line between stunt casting which we’ve covered ad infinitum (and my Gaby R falls into) and other celebs who take it upon themselves to start “singing” stuff.

I have come here to claim my prize.
I suffered through NeNe Leaks as Mama Morton.
Not my choice to see Chicago on Broadway. Stale.

The abomination that was Miranda Hart's "No Business Like Show Business" aptly setting the tone for the rest of the Royal Variety 2017.

If there is a theatre God I pray he never let's Kimberly Walsh sing a musical theatre number again. I've never heard anyone sing Defying Gravity like that before...

Another one from Chicago - Cuba Gooding Jr was dreadful. Ruthie Henshall's vocals were flat throughout the whole show too - there was a really awkward moment at the end of a duet between her and Velma where they both ended the song flat and it sounded awful.

Nancy Dell'Olio in Fashion Victim was truly awful. Mind you the whole musical was dire and its the only musical I have ever left at the end of the first act.
