Assuming you’ve had it, of course 🙂 but let’s not get into that again on this thread.
I thought I’d be quids in, and of course the clever ones amongst us will be squirrelling 🐿 all the lolly away in a special fund to buy tickets at some point in the future.
Other not so clever ones like me will be spending it on stuff I could probably do without (I’m looking at you, shiny new food processor) as well as dealing with the inflated prices on supermarket home delivery shopping which seems to have gone up by about a third.
are you a spender or a saver?

Had very little in refunds as mainly credit vouchers, rescheduled dates or waiting for rescheduled dates. What I have had has gone towards paying the extra bills that are usually covered by overtime so that I keep my head above water and don't incur extra debt

All my refunds were on my credit card, so I'm now paying for stuff I wouldn't normally put on the card, just to get rid of the credit balance. I think there will be plenty more to come when shows scheduled for the summer are cancelled or postponed. "Free" groceries for the foreseeable future! How boring is that?!

No refunds for theatre, have been happy to take credit or donate the cost of the tickets.
For holidays, I've had refunds and that is staying firming in my 'future holidays' fund. Next year is HOLIDAY CENTRAL!

Spender - bought myself an air purifier.
Figured that when the west end reopens I’ll probably stick to roughly the same number of shows I would usually see each month - if not less to begin with (as I’ll want to do other things I haven’t been able to do in the interim), so the regular theatre fund should be sufficient.
I don’t see any big casting announcements or new productions being announced when theatre does re-open, so I see no point in keeping a theatre fund topped up really. Plus when theatre does reopen I think I’ll probably book things on the day or very shortly in advance - I’m not sure there’ll be an appetite for booking months (if not years) in advance.

Same as clair above: I've either donated or turned into credit most of the money I paid for the tickets. The little I got back from the Boulevard I've already donated further (to the Lockdown Plays fundraiser, and doubled, as it was a really cheap ticket), and my Barbican refund will be divided between a donation to the Almeida (which is my favourite, and my local theatre) and a chocolate delivery for a friend (and theatre buddy, so seems appropriate) who sprained her ankle at the worst time possible.
Which doesn't mean I'm not shopping more than I should, just from other sources...

I’m on the free groceries too. Makes the purchase of cake far more justified.

Hadn't actually booked as much as I had originally thought, and three performances are either rescheduled or awaiting rescheduling. I accepted a voucher and ATG membership for one as well just so I can use it when bookings eventually get back to normal.
So not many refunds, but all going into the holiday fund!

Primarily credits for me.
Credits will be used to fill my calendar to a similar position as pre-Covid without a hit on my wallet.
After an initial outlay buying bits for my home office and some guitar pieces my spending is now significantly lower especially ticket purchases and using this pot to buy bits and pieces.

Woolly hats. I didn't have a hat deficiency but some farmers I follow on twitter do a bit of knitting as side line so decided I would support that way. Hat one came and was very pleased with, no awaiting alpaca beany hat which I need even less except hat one was lovely and my hair is going to go badger striped mullet soon so really I will need to wear a hat more. That's my excuse anyway.
On similar thread soap, hand moisturizer, shampoo from a diary farmer.
And few donations to charities.

I had a theatre holiday booked for April - I had a decent number of shows booked, plus hotel and travel. I have had refunds on the majority of shows and hotel - and am now saving that money up to buy a new car when businesses start reopening.

I think if it was a holiday refund or something much bigger I would request a transfer, but as the refunds turn up in dribs and drabs I will leave them as they are. I'm sure I will think of something more interesting to buy shortly!

I’ve taken the opportunity to use the money to do so some work on my house. The house is from the Victorian era so the bathroom was a bit of an afterthought extension with a flat roof. Unfortunately the bitumen roof covering has reached the end of its life so a new covering has just been put on.
With credit notes with theatres at least it will be easier on my credit card when the theatres reopen.

Very little. Trying to save actually. With so few outgoings for the first time in years, I am saving more money than I ever have in my life and I'd like to keep it that was for as long as possible! No point spending on tickets for a long time yet so I hope that with a bit of my savings I can have a good splurge when we know what's what.

Divorce.
There's a story - separated 8 years after the stbx came back from Afghanistan (another story) but now he's found a girlfriend (she's been divorced twice) the amicable split has turned into a bitchfest on his part ..... For me, this Covid poo had a topping of divorce poo and with hayfever working at the desk next to the garden my double whammy poo has gravy.

What refund money? I've literally had one refund out of 16 so far and that's not going to pay for much.

Saver, though not so much from theatre refunds as the huge lifestyle change in not going to London/elsewhere 2 days per week for theatre/cinema nor catching the train back from walks a couple of days per week. So no transport costs, incidental expenses, no ongoing theatre booking for months ahead as normal and no holidays/weekend breaks booked either. A little like londonmzfitz, though OH and I aren't married, we were on the point of putting the house on the market to sell up and separate when the lockdown started, so I had already forsworn holidays this year until I knew where we stood with that. While that's on hold I'm saving as much as possible, figuring that if/when a move is possible, I can't have too much spare cash available. And if there's some left over, I will really have earned that holiday and as many theatre trips as I want.

I'm sure some of our members would love this t-shirt! I haven’t had any tickets refunded, all rebooked, turned into vouchers or donated but I’ve put a train ticket refund towards this T-shirt plus matching notebook and badges (if I didn’t already have too many mugs I’d have got that. I'm still booking tickets too, though further ahead than normal!

I don't yet know yet what refunds have come through, as I don't have online bacnking & my end of April bank statement is currently decontaminating before I open it. I probably won't be spending much of anything that has arrived though. My only expenditure for the last few weeks has been on Tesco deliveries. As I had to raid my savings to keep theatregoing over the winter, when I didn't have a temp job, now seems a good time to see if I can replace some of that. In hindsight, deciding to keep theatregoing over the winter despite running short of money was a good decision!

Chocolate. That is all....and more chocolate..... Thought I had bought quite a lot on my last shop two weeks ago but who was I kidding, long wait for the next shop in another 2 weeks. On the upside hat number 2 arrived and is lovely and soft and it's meant to be getting bit colder tomorrow so that'll be me in hat sat at dining room table.

I had planned on spending some of mine on Lego sets. They always do special promotions on the Star Wars stuff for May 4th but when I went to buy it the ones i wanted are sold out. Think I'm going to get one of those lovely t-shirts though.

Soon To Be Ex. The g*t. Got 2 Hairspray tickets changed to what may be the last performance ... 1 to be refunded in 7 to 10 days. Waiting to hear about Mockingbird and SITPWG. Wilton's refunded. Uncle Vanya refunded to.

All mine will have been refunds apart from those with venues who offered future options such as waiting to see if plays/shows could be rescheduled - so mainly Chichester but a couple of others. With CFT I will still keep the faith despite the latest announcement. No donations to theatres yet as I sent a big chunk to our struggling local hospice but I'm obviously still considering supporting some theatres.
