Indisposition? How do you sign up for a gig, get announced and then become “indisposed”?

That new casting is a pretty significant downgrade imo, very glad I held back on buying a ticket now.

Eastwick is one of my favourite shows and was so excited when this was announced and booked front row seats as soon as they went on sale. But I have to admit, this isn't looking to be the glitzy, special one off evening I was picturing it to be........

You lot are ridiculous.
Partridge and Barnes are excellent at their craft and fair play to them standing in at the last minute.

Without wanting to sound cruel Partridge barely convinces as himself, so getting me to believe he’s a horny fifty something hetero demon will be a stretch. Giles Terrara is an absolute superstar; a Fantastic triple threat with talent for days, likewise Natasha Barnes and Danielle Steers. I’d be disappointed that the people I’d booked for weren’t there. I’d be even more devastated by his replacement, especially if I’d shelled out big bucks.

Only today I got a Facebook memory of the La Cage Aux Folles tour where JP played it as a mancunian. Yes, that accent and ad libs about Canal Street.
😐
Unimpressed.

Hmm, not overly enamoured with the replacement of Giles Terera - having seen John Partridge in a couple of things previously danb s assessment is pretty spot on… Thankfully it’s a concert not a full production, so hoping that allows a bit more leeway - still, an unfortunate last minute replacement as I was looking forward to see what Giles would do the part (albeit in a limited setting). I’m more curious to know which (of the many) versions they are performing and how big the band is….

I hope they’ve got someone on standby for him as he seems to pull out of most jobs… *cough cough

This whole concert sounds so low rent.
I can only assume they offered the roles to better talents and they all said no.
John Partridge? Please.

Starting to suspect my tickets might be the second "costly mistake" of the week, but let's see.

I’m excited for Claire Moore. She’s going to be a great Felicia! She and Laura P P are the only classy bits of casting here. Natasha Barney’s is great- but she’s not an Alexandra

Just read an interview with Maria and it looks like it definitely isn’t the original or prince of wales version. It is a concert but it will be costumed, the odd set piece and it does imply they will fly

Why are some of you criticising the actors and saying their not right for their role when the show hasn’t even happened? They’ve been cast for a reason, they’ve had one day of rehearsals and they’re all very talented at what they do. I’m sure everyone will be great.

No one performing in the show next week has done it before. You can’t judge someone for a performance they haven’t even given yet.

But if you've seen the show before, and know the roles and whats required of them, you can judge whether established performers are right for the parts... Laura P-P is very similar to Joanna Riding in a lot of ways, so will be a great Jane. The other three? Very questionable.

They’ve still not done the show so they could give a performance you’re not expecting. Plus this is an entirely new production, and they wouldn’t have been cast if they weren’t right for the parts.
