I too enjoyed the original production. Rosie Ashe was having a blast.

Need to do some cast recording investigation. Which version is the best to listen to? Definitely the OLCR. Not all the songs are still in the show, but definitely stil the best.

I have been revisiting the score over the past half hour - there is something magical about the way the three women sing together. Great performers enjoying singing together.
I wish I may and Make Him Mine are fantastic trios

Need to do some cast recording investigation. Which version is the best to listen to? Personally, for me it has to be the OLC recording, but I'm a huge Jo Riding fan so may be a bit biased.

Same source that claimed Jesus Christ Superstar was transferring when Matt Cardle pulled out of Falsettos. Can’t see any announcement on this anywhere. I actually stated JCS might of been extending, after some industry folk told me it was a possibility, that coincided with Matt Cardle leaving. I labelled it as rumour. If you actually read my post, all I'm stating is there is a Witches of Eastwick announcement teased for today by the choreographer Andrew Wright. So we are still waiting to see what that is, hoping this new updated Swedish production, that Cameron Mackintosh has been involved with, makes it's way over here. That really wasn’t clear from an unknown twitter account. Might be helpful if you can link the actual source next time, or explain.

We had expensive seats in a box at Drury Lane and couldn't see the flying...
Also, I'm not sure the flying was earned by the plot. It's not about Living Your Dream and Be The Person You've Dreamed Of and all that.

Maybe you didn’t see the flying from your box as you were at a different show?

I'm pretty sure the ladies were grounded for a while.

Loved this show - maybe not a classic but very entertaining, and the trio of Arnaz / Riding / Friedman was sensational.

I loved the original Drury Lane production. For me, it’s a terrific score that just sparkled deliciously: especially Loose Ends, Make Him Mine, Waiting for the music to begin and the fab Dirty Laundry. Loved that number in particular!
Joanna Riding was sublime and a joy to watch but the three made a strong team. I rather liked the addition of The Glory of Me when it was at the Prince of Wales.

It is a proper musical comedy - very much of the old school in terms of big orchestrations, proper company numbers and lots of story-telling through song

How could you not see the flying? They came right out over the stalls! Because the box was deep at the back of the normal seats and the overhang of the circle above prevented this from being visible.

Maybe you didn’t see the flying from your box as you were at a different show? There's no need to be impertinent. The show had very little idea about what magic/the devil/witches were supposed to signify. (The Updike novel had the same failing.) A triumphant bit about them flying may have provided what was calculated to be a high spot but it didn't really connect with the trajectory of what was going on in them or the town.
