Long awaited and long booked trip to Paris to see this cancelled as the Eurostar booked is not running due to strikes!!! Got word in time to get hotel cost back and will get refund/re-booking for Eurostar - but cost of tickets and UK train fare to and from London lost - will try again in February - but if anyone is already in Paris and wants 2 good tickets for Wednesday 11th - I have e-tickets ready to ping to you!! Sorry to hear that. I expect flights are prohibitively expensive. Have you tried asking if they'll change the theatre ticket date to February? I know it's not the same, but you could still visit London and catch some shows if you have the rail tickets.

Good news! The Trainline have been brilliant and refunded the whole of my train fares as my Eurostar was cancelled. Not their normal policy, they say, but they were sympathetic to the situation. Great customer service!! Also pursuing credit card company to see if they will refund for the show tickets - but not holding out too much hope for this one!

Wish I'd held off booking Ghost Le Musical - this was closing a week before I went originally. I'm at Disneyland Paris, trying to work out if I can spare 2 evenings...

Transport in Paris is in complete disarray at the moment, with national strikes and demonstrations against against pension reforms. My best friend lives in the city and it’s a complete sh*t show apparently. The metro hasn’t operated for almost two weeks. Roads gridlocked. Doesn’t seem to be getting much if any coverage on our media though.
Beware if you’re travelling to Paris any time soon.

I'm having enough fun with our 27 day strike on South Western Railway at the moment!

Doesn’t seem to be getting much if any coverage on our media though. I don't know about the 'mainstream' BBC news, which I gave up on years ago, but there was a brief mention on the World Service last night. I'm always suspicious of rounded figures, but trade at hotels in Paris is down 30% on December 2018, at cafes and bars it is down 40%, and at restaurants it is down a full 50%.

I’m seeing it in February (strikes allowing!!!) and would like to hear your thoughts.

I’m seeing it in February (strikes allowing!!!) and would like to hear your thoughts. I loved it. The theatre is beautiful, it’s i a park and has recently been renovated. I was moved from the top balcony to the first circle. They made such a fuss and checked I was happy with the new seat. More people moved when the doors were shut (which seems to be the rule) The show was great. Christina was amazing and seemed to be channelling Barbra without it being an impersonation. All the roles were acted beautifully but I think I’d have to say I preferred Darius in the recent production. He seemed a powerful man which didn’t come across in this production. The ensemble numbers were super and the set design was simple and clever. I wouldn’t hesitate to see it if you have the chance

I was a bit put off by the clip upthread, not of the tap routine which looks pin sharp and fabulous, but by Christina’s Don’t Rain which I think sounds a bit nasal. But sod it, I’m going. Is the seating comfortable?

I’m slightly miffed that after buying an aisle seat in the stalls, it now looks like those extra pull down side seat bits have been put on sale so I’m not on the aisle any more. What’s that all about? Or perhaps I should say c'est quoi tout ça?
Anyway, can’t do nowt about it now. I hope it’s not dead squashy.
Ive never been to a theatre in France before, are there any etiquette differences? Do they sell ices at half time? Is there a merch stand? Can I buy a magnet? Can I eat crisps?
i did notice that the seat numbering is different.

Can I eat crisps? i did notice that the seat numbering is different. I saw the matinee last Sunday and thought it was a very good production. I agree with previous posters in that I preferred the suave performance of Darius than the actor who played Nicky in this one (though, by all accounts, the real Nicky Arnstein was far from suave and debonair!) I also agree that Christina Bianco’s own voice is slightly thin and nasal, but she does sing it well and acts the part very well. I much preferred her to Sheridan Smith actually. The ending as delivered by Bianco is far more poignant and affecting than with Smith. I didn’t realise that Bianco was such a tiny lady; nevertheless, she delivers a knockout performance in my opinion. In terms of etiquette, I don’t think ice-creams or merchandise etc..were on sale at any point (certainly there was no selling of anything in the auditorium or bar area). Nobody seemed to be eating anything at any time in the auditorium (not even at the interval!) and the audience behaviour was impeccable (maybe I was just lucky!) The theatre itself is lovely. The bar is very expensive (€27 for two drinks!!!), but the production is well worth seeing. Hope you enjoy it like we did.

For etiquette, one thing that confused me is that in Paris theatres you’re usually expected to tip your usher as they show you to your seat. Apparently this theatre doesn’t allow tips.

Yes, tipping for ushers was also expected in Madrid when I attended a performance there. I’m not sure if this is standard practice in theatres across Europe. I didn’t particularly notice the tipping of ushers in Austria (though, to be fair, that was years ago and I was probably too young and naive at the time to have noticed anyway!) Tipping was definitely expected in Madrid.

I was there this afternoon. Loved it. Christina Bianca though, she’s absolutely tiny but totally commands the proceedings. Yes she has a thinner voice than I might have preferred but she’s pitch perfect throughout and completely belts those big numbers out. Her acting is great too and those emotional final scenes are played to the max. Agree that Ashley Day doesn’t quite have the presence of Darius Campbell but he’s charming and easy in the eye. Everyone was good, perhaps with the exception of Matthew Jeans as Eddie who was way too low key, maybe holding back for the evening performance?
It’s a different production to the Menier version, there were scenes and a couple of songs that I haven’t seen before. Also, because of the poster they’re using for this I was expecting the roller skating scene. Not in it though.
That Rat A Tat sequence 😍😍😍. And we got lots of the ensemble tap dancing before Fanny came on, which was wonderful. I could have watched again about ten times though 🙂.
it’s 🧸🧸🧸🧸 from me.
2hr 45 including interval. That is one beautifully refurbished theatre. Contemporary, minimal foyer and bar area but inside the auditorium all lavish white with gold relief on everything with everything else covered in rich red velvet. Stalls seat plumply padded and sprung with generous width and legroom.

The ones I saw didn't look appealing

The ones I saw didn't look appealing Booked 28th Jan. I swear they weren’t on sale then. actually it was fine, when the seat swings out it’s on a sort of arm so the seat is a few inches away from the side of the real seat and slightly back too. A tiny woman was sat on it and I was barely conscious of her being there. They didn’t look hugely comfortable though, despite all the padding and velvet, and I wouldn’t trust my not inconsiderable bulk on one!

Show was in good form this afternoon. Packed theatre with well-behaved and appreciative fans. Performances were very good from all and very slick, for over 100 shows in! Go, before it closes on 7th March - you won't regret it!
