To answer your questions... I believe the reason Lauren doesn't wear Kinky Boots is, and I read this somewhere, I can't remember where, because the shoes are meant to be "a range of shoes for a range of men" so firstly, she would not fit into this market anyway, though the other women do wear the boots. But also, in terms of the range of boots, she does wear small ankle Kinky Boots so she does technically wear them. Everyone else was wearing them, even Nicola, that's why I wondered. Shame you never got to see her as Cinderella, Michael. She is intrinsically hilarious, and, as has been noted on here, her version of "Let It Go" is better than... Well, I did see her as Margot in Legally Blonde, but I don't remember much of her performance. Don't know if she was ever on, but I'd have loved seeing her (as u/s) Elle Woods. I will definitely look on YouTube and see what I'll find there.

Re day seat starting seling later: I may have a guess that the tickets-selling people have a list of things they need to do at work before selling tix and that takes, say, 15-20 minutes. I remember that people from some other BO were arriving to work earlier so that would be totally ready to sell tickets at 10:00. Probably Adelphi people decided, that they can arrive a bit later and do all these things while day seats queue is waiting. Because they can

Well I've only gone and won myself a TodayTix lottery seat for tonight! I'm hoping a Wednesday night might not be too "Hen Night"-esque.
I shall not be wearing kinky boots I'm afraid. Cankles. Say no more. But I do find Killian Donnelly strangely hot so I shall no doubt be downing a Gin or two in the bar and stalking the stage door afterwards. As always, more than happy with a wave, a smile, a hello or an inappropriate grope. Your choice.
I'm a kinky virgin! I shall report back. I hope they're gentle.

It was my favourite new show of 2015 (bar Gypsy!) so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Enjoy!!! Everyone seems to win the lottery except me :'-( Be strong d'James! I've swiped for it numerous times and never won. I did it today on a whim and won! Your time will come. Good things come to good people. And if Killian Donnelly is reading this, I. Am. Good.

Well it's a bit of a blast isn't it. A very enjoyable night out and I'm even still able to hum several of the songs. Of the two leads I preferred Killian Donnelly, there were more bits where I enjoyed his performance and when he lets that voice of his go, it really does soar to goosebump effect. I thought Matt Henry was a bit pantomime in the first act, he was *so* much better in the second and so much better at the ballads than the uptempo numbers. Supporting cast are great and the angels are terrific. Amy Lennox is funny but I can imagine it's a very polarising performance, particularly as it's tick for tick almost identical to the one Sophie Thompson is giving across the road. Really liked Michael Hobbs as George too - best of the supporting cast for my money. I even teared up a bit when Charlie leaves his voicemail to Lola. Well worth a visit methinks.
Oh and 'Funny Girl', *this* is how to use a travelator! :-)

It's the kind of role that anyone doing it half well would get an Olivier nomination for I think and he'll probably bag the award too in part because it's a 'big' role.

I don't know what it is. He's not really that hot but then he is. Agreed about Matt Henry, it's the showier part by far.

Also, forgot to mention. 'Kinky Boots' has a really terrific "switch off your mobile phone" announcement too!

I can't wait to see the track listing. Hope it's got photos of the cast on the cover, not just the logo.

Went to this last night. I last saw it on Broadway, shortly after it opened. I really didn't rate it the first time round. I've since listened to the cast recording quite a bit, so am much more familiar with the score now.
I still don't think it's a show of great quality - the score is pretty one-dimensional, and the whole thing is very light-weight. But I won't deny that I really enjoyed it this time. It's very up-lifting and high energy. Some superb performances, too - Matt Henry really stood out for me. Very solid performances from Killian and Amy - you can clearly see why they both get a lot of work. Tim Prottey-Jones was on as Don. He really grates on me - I find him so forced and contrived.
It pains me to say it, but I thought that Marcus Collins' performance was absolutely spot on, and he was clearly loving every minute. The scenes featuring Lola and the Angels were the highlights.
I'd even be tempted to go back!

I really hope I don't have the misfortune of catching him as Don, he is the one cast member I am actively dodging, not gonna lie.

Sophie Isaacs sounds brilliant as Lauren, I really hope I can catch her at some point! Also, if you get the chance, have a look around this channel, it has loads of live recordings of the London Production that can keep us all happy before the cast recording!

I thought he was pretty good, played the part really well.

That is a good channel although Raise You Up is weird the way they sing it. 'If your glitter [pause] rusts . . .'

My guess would be that it was changed due to the fact that "glitter rusts" said with no break sounds far too close to "cliterous" than they'd like!!

The same also happened recently (well, a few years ago) in Gethsemane from JCS. Tim Rice changed the lyric "God, thy will is hard, for you hold every card" to "God, thy will be done. Take your only son". as "God, thy will is hard" sounded too close to "God, thy willy's hard" when sung apparently! Think the change was implemented from the Ben Forster tour onwards. Dunno why it took so long to change it if that's what people have been thinking all this time! I think "misheard/lyrics that sound like other words" is quite an interesting discussion in itself!

I don't have too much desire to see this one again on stage but would love to see Sophie Issacs take on the lead female role.
I not think I will with the slew of new shows for this year now on my radar but look forward to hearing your reports on her performance, she was blooming brilliant in 'Made in Dagenham' and deserves some spotlight!!
