Actually fossil over on the NT thread was moaning about Captchas being used for booking on the NT website this morning and I'm wondering if I have confused the two and actually it was the NT that was forcing me to identify traffic lights? Yes it was the NT that did that this morning so I think you may have muddled it all up again, dear I only took my lead from our dearest monkey...

Dear appropriate deity or other, when you have to practise to get past the prove you're not a robot! 😖 But glad it's not just me that gets them wrong. Thanks for the tip @theatremonkey

Oh, one new wrinkle to add. While waiting in the "Queue-It" line every open window asked at a different time for me to take the "I am not a robot" verification - the one where you have to click on all the cars etc. If you have multiple windows open to the countdown, be prepared to have to answer the question rapido in each one at some point - even with 10 seconds to go in the line. You could find yourself kicked out otherwise.
I didn't get any of this I-am-not-a-robot stuff just now, even with multiple windows (in three different browsers) open before 9am.
The booking experience was - for once - completely not-excruciating, and I got exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to get struck by lightning now, aren't I?

I didn't get *quite* what I wanted, as Appropriate seems to be selling better than the other two, but close enough and very painlessly. I feel quite humbled that the Donmar website is willing to take it on faith that I'm probably not a robot.

The website crushed once so I lost my tickets but luckily I had Chrome, Firefox and Explorer opened so I managed to book new tickets from another queue...

I also almost got what I wanted, but I was upset about checking the "I am not a robot" box as I never realised people minded that I'm a robot.

Fairly painless for me too, both Appropriate and Europe seem to be selling well although possibly that may be a result of the tickets being held back for daily release?

I’ve just stupidly bought a ticket for Europe that I can’t use - seat A34 on Tuesday 6th August so the end of the front row of the side stalls. Anyone wish to take it off my hands - please let me know - it cost £40 but I’d happily take £30

That was fairly easy but I unfortunately panic bought my ticket for Appropriate because I thought all the other days were sold out. The Donmar isn't very clear on these things, the little wheelchair image confuses me. I can use it but would have preferred a different day. Ah well, such is life

If you were looking for stalls seats then there was generally poor availability across all the plays, I thought, but for the cheapskates like me looking for tenner circle seats were provided for.

They will swap for a different day Yes, they've done that for me. Most places do, I think.

Oh thank you both for letting me know. I may try that, it's not a catastrophe but would be nice. I'll let the day play out as no doubt they are a tad busy now and if it's a sell out all round I'll make do

if it's a sell out all round I'll make do It's also worth checking for returns as the date gets closer (refreshing the web page). I've always managed to find much better seats on my preferred date through returns than the one I originally booked.

Shout out to the lovely helpful staff at the Donmar who took pity on this befuddled fool and exchanged the ticket. Also bought one for Europe while I was there, good customer service is such an encouragement to people (Yes, Today Tix I'm looking at you with your unhelpful selves)
Meanwhile I was surprised at how much availability there was, it gives me hope for Teenage Dick later in the year not being sold out quickly. Yes am aware of how that sounds, along with the 'two 12 yo boys' thread in general chat am expecting a full police presence on this site from now on!

I was lucky this morning too, getting no.32 in the Members' booking, meaning I actually got FRONT ROW CENTRAL STALLS for Teenage Dick. Can't remember the last time that happened! Agree with the Monkey that things seem to be selling well, with the Caryl Churchill selling more heavily (although that may of course be a factor of the dates I looked at).

I'm not a member, but generally I've found that given how far in advance people have to book for the Donmar a lot of returns pop up close to the dates, so if you're near a computer screen and can nip in quick you can usually get something better for your chosen day.

They also do the daily release of tickets at all price bands for the performances 7 days later.

Honestly for someone in my line of work it’s the most convenient way to be able to book something, as I sometimes don’t know until very late on what dates I can/can’t do. Likewise with the Friday rush NT do

You've got an onscreen clock? Well I guess if they're not going to let anyone buy anything until 10am, at least that explains why I haven't managed to get myself put in an online queue yet.

I've got the queue thing now - not sure whether to book now or wait for returns nearer the time though.

Went into the queue at number 60, only moved 30 places since. Is the website just having a wee breakdown today, or...?

Got through at 9, despite the clock, but took a few minutes to let me select anything once I got to front of queue. All fine but I only wanted one play and was looking late in run.

Public booking: no queue, straight in. £10 seats a go-go. Breath. Marvellous

Apparently my password was wrong. It wasnt. Had to reset. Now I have no 'valid address' although the four walls surrounding me look pretty valid to me. I am so fed up with everything in general at the moment and this isn't helping!

£10 seats booked easily, just now. Plenty of for Far Away on Valentine's Day, should any board singletons be keen !

Number 266 in the queue this morning, quite slow progress, but managed to find a last front row seat on one of my preferred dates for Teenage Dick.

Went on about 15 minutes after booking opened. Queued for about 20 minutes. Couldn't get my favourite seats for either, so ended up with £10 seats for both, Row C circle.
