Looking at the pic Rusalka springs to mind. But it's only a guess

They could be really bold and stage Undine by ETA Hoffmann...(same source as Rusalka - but very different piece)

But could also be a Rhinemaiden. Although they are expensive plus I don't like Wagner so I'm hoping it's Rusalka

It's an audience member drowning in water that the security guards have forced people to pour away at the entrance.

The two cans one is perhaps Orpheus in the Underworld.
Three women - maybe The Mikado? (Three Little Maids from School Are We)
The dancer - Carmen?
Cleopatra - Samuel Barber's Antony and Cleopatra or Oscar Straus's The Pearls of Cleopatra?
Another couple ...
Marriage of Figaro perhaps?
Russalka?

Yay to Luisa Miller, Orphee and Rusalka. I'm very excited about the latter two
Boo to Berstswhistle, Rice and mcgregor
Generally seems likes a well balanced season with some excellent casting choices.

Was delighted to see Offenbach on the list until I saw the director.

I guess its not the Gerald Scarfe 1988 production of Orpheus in the Underworld. That was excellent. I'll go to see Willard White. The Mikado IS getting a bit old but I'll see it again its good and has John Tomlinson.

All the productions are on the website now - www.eno.org/Public booking 24th August Whinge time ... no weekend performances for Mask of Orpheus or Orphee presumably because they've filled most Saturdays in November with two performances of The Mikado.

We are sorry the website is experiencing heavy traffic at the moment. Please contact the box office on: Tel: 020 7845 9300 Email: box.office@eno.org
How strange obviously ENO's attraction is bigger than I thought

On first blush; Figaro, Mikado (Jonathon Miller), Philip Glass and probably Birtwistle. Not sure Anthony Minghella can tempt me towards Madam Butterfly yet .

A lot of new productions. Even the ones I'm interested in I won't be booking until after they have opened & I've seen the reviews & production pics. I don't trust ENO's taste! Of the revivals, I'll probably see the Miller Mikado again & the casting of Natalya Romaniw might finally persuade me to see the Minghella Butterfly (Sorrow being played by a puppet is offputting). I don't know why they're having another new Nozze production. I think that'll be the third in the last decade or so. Not sure I'll be seeing any of the 4 Orpsheus operas: the directors for the Gluck & the Offenbach make me very wary and even the casting of plenty of singers I like won't get me to go anywhere near either the Birtwistle or the Glass, unless I wear ear plugs!

Very interesting to see the one subject matter (Orpheus) being tackled many ways in one season! Would like to get tickets to all four productions just to see what they do.
I too am not really a fan of ENO productions, much prefer traditional stagings and costumes. Not a fan of flying dildos or operas being staged in supermarkets.
And Carmen... Zzzzzzzz Overrated af

The MET and ROH did Carmen this year. (I feel like it's on every year though) and now ENO... Sigh
I think Boheme is the only repertoire opera I wouldn't mind being staged all the time.

A very brave and interesting programme from the ENO. Nice to have a theme and great to have work from living composers. I'll try and see Glass and Birtwistle and as much Orpheus as possible.
Hope they have a good season. They need one.

The good news is, when you're an old git like me, the senior discounts kick in.

And Daniel Kramer has resigned.
I won't miss his productions but ENO is apparently in much better shape now compared to when he started and that has to be celebrated.

I like the sub-heading from the 2016 Guardian story on his appointment - "ENO hoping American-born director will bring stability to company that has lurched from crisis to crisis over past two years"
Incidentally the press release mentions one "2019/20 freelance directing commitments of La boheme and Nixon in China in Europe, and War Requiem in Taiwan" - so there's another production of Nixon in China in the pipeline in parallel with the John Fulljames Scottish Opera one.

Mmmm so for a person who works with the ENO, they are most looking forward to a tour of the building?....
A very strange and patronising bit of marketing,
not to mention how obvious it is that one person wrote all these little paragraphs.
Maybe they think their young patrons are 6 years old

Dave Bouncer, Security
I'm most looking forward to the bag checks for food and drink - there are always different people trying to smuggle vodka in using a water bottle and you never know what is going to end up being poured away!

Ben Dover, Head of Opera I am looking forward to reminding the elderly caucasian people to include us in their wills at every opportunity I get! While not attending too often because they don't fit the new audience demographic we need to show we're attracting.
