Half A Sixpence is about to announce. They're waiting for it to close in Chichester first. I sincerely hope this turns out to be true as I think more people should get a chance to see the Incredibly Talented Charlie Stemp.

Half A Sixpence is about to announce. They're waiting for it to close in Chichester first. Woo Hoo! A comment resembling a rumour! At last. This thread went straight from being "I wish/think" to "who gets paid what when the theatre's dark". ...with Idina Menzel & Hugh Jackman! 😀

I never said they were there every day when it's dark. They're either going to be at home or will be at another CamMac theatre. Even if there at home though they still get payed I think Dependant on their contract type. Some will get holiday pay, some will move theatres, some will leave the job. Also, "they are" and "paid". Haha. *'Dependent,' and from a subsequent post, 'knowledge.'

I asked one of the Strife cast the other day about the rumoured transfer (not musical, sorry) and they said they didn't know yet but it was a possibility and they all hoped so.

Strife is an interesting one. It's in some ways a shame that none of the subsidised theatres in London (apart from the NT and the Orange Tree) would nowadays put on such a production of such a play. So a London transfer is dependant on commercial factors, and on sky-high pricing of many tickets, and would probably sit in an imperfect theatre.

A single blinkin' word of it!" (with just 75% of the notes hit, which is fine apparently).

I hope My Fair Lady comes back In the next few years As I understand, that will be Cameron Mackintosh's retirement gift/plan. Produce that one last time and retire.

Cameron like Andrew LW, Sondheim, Madonna, Cher, Manilow etc will never retire - they will work to their death beds and their careers and egos are indeed their legacies.
If I earnt just 20/50 million is quit while I'm ahead travel the world and live between two mansions in the UK and abroad!

Correction: Peppa Pig as Hedda Gabler. How on earth did Peppa Pig beat Miss Piggy to that role?

So I've read on this board that The Color Purple has been rumoured to go to the Piccadilly?
Not sure I can see that happening if I'm honest unless it's for a limited run?

Hmm I can see it. Cynthia definitely has more hype around her now, especially in this role as well as a Tony. There's a lot more nonsensical stuff that gets to the West End than that.

She's already said in multiple interviews that she wouldn't do it again if it came back to London

I think it would struggle in the West End especially if it somewhere like the Piccadilly.

It's not The Color Purple.
Far as I am aware, that show has no intention of coming over as this running priduction has already done a Londin run only three years ago and Cynthia made the production even more special. Whilst I really want to see it over here, I don't know if it has much else without Cynthia.

Would love to see what leading lady is being lined up!!

I understand Big Fish is hoping to make a big splash on this side of the pond in the next year. I suspect it's a tour, I can't imagine they'd risk putting it in the West End.

Big Fish is still the worst musical I've seen live and that was with the masterful Norbert Leo Butz so I can't imagine how it would be without him.

Agree with Jon. This sounds like another Addams Family. It'll go straight to tour.

I wouldn't say it was the worst but it sure didn't work - a bunch of production numbers in search of a story line. Andrew Lippa's bland score didn't help.
