Another show has the New London booked up already. I assume with ATG behind it, it will go to an ATG house. There aren't any suitable ATG theatres available at the moment, Drury Lane might be a good option for them since its free from next year

But by March of next year, there will be two ATG houses available for King & I.

The Playhouse and Phoenix are always becoming available in recent years. Yes those two venues are usually free as they play limited runs. I think King and I will go to the Phoenix possibly.

The Phoenix is too small, my guess if it is an ATG house then the Piccadilly is more likely

What shows do you think will go into the theatres that will be empty next year?
E.g. Drury Lane, Victoria Palace, New London, Phoenix etc.

'The King & I' needs a huge theatre for the frock alone.
I kept thinking of Elaine Paige in the show when I saw Juliet Stevenson in 'Happy Days' as it happened . . . .

I am not sold on the idea that because ATG are producing a show therefore it MUST go into one of their theatres, ideally it would, but they could do what Shuberts and Nederlanders do in New York produce shows in competitor theatres.
King and I could be a limited run in Drury Lane and done via stunt casting. Could see that that Young Frankenstein would be a good fit for the Playhouse. I cannot see Dreamgirls running that long, similar run to Women on a verge................. Hamilton seems a dead cert for Victoria Palace. If King and I doesn't go into Drury Lane will they struggle to fill it, just like the London Palladium at the moment?

King and I could go drury lane for a limited run or Finding Neverland is rumoured to go there. Can't see FN running for ages in a huge theatre like that over here to be honest. Yeah Young Frakenstein could be good at Playhouse but i dont know if that would last long... I think Dreamgirls will run for quite a long time. I don't think it will flop, it's nearly sold out the run already!! I dont know what else could go drury lane but I'd like to see new work there

I think Dreamgirls will run WAYYYYYY longer than WOTV! Give it some credit, my god!
I would be surprised if it didn't do at least 18/24 months.

Is Dreamgirls really nearly sold out? The booking period they've released is rather short, which is why I think it appears to be "sold out". I'm sure a new booking block will open even before the show officially opens to guarantee some income prior to hitting the end of the booking period. BTW the site has been updated. It's no longer just a landing page as it was, but the amount of actual information on it is very limited. It's more or less a spotlight on Amber and booking information. I feel that we might finally get lucky with the Savoy with this one and get some day seats. Row AA has been removed from the booking site, unless it's replaced with an orchestra. I'm probably going to see this multiple times, so I have my fingers crossed it's going to day seat! For now I'm happy with my first preview ticket and another ticket to see the alternate sometime in Feb!

The King and I is co-produced by ATG on Broadway so I assume they have UK rights to this production much like they did with South Pacific. If Baz is to believed, it's coming in 2017 with Kelli O'Hara. Would be a good show for the New London if they plan to recreate the staging from the Beaumont. Another show has the New London booked up already. Surprised no one has asked yet (unless it's common knowledge and I'm a bit behind)........what show has booked the New London??

I wouldn't be surprised if The Humans ends up transferring to somewhere like the National, the Almeida or at a push the West End. Given Scott Rudin's the lead producer, the chances are very high especially if it wins Best new play at the Tonys.

I'm kinda predicting either Chitty or Mary Poppins will slowly edge its way back into the West End following their tours...

Maybe not Chitty as its doing lots of venues around the uk but Mary Poppins I think will go back to London as its very popular. I thought the Victoria Palace but Hamilton will go there, maybe Drury Lane??

I can't imagine Chitty going in, even though I haven't seen this new tour, from what I've seen and heard it really doesn't look or sound like West End quality. As for Mary Poppins however, Drury Lane may not be a bad idea (if it was a limited run perhaps). I remember reading something saying that Drury Lane was considered for the original production, but that could've been because they used the My Fair Lady cast to workshop it with at the time.

I really hope the rumoured transfer of Something Rotten ends up happening. Such a fun show!
Must say that from the current Broadway season there is very little I can see transfering other than Hamilton and School of Rock.

Yeah I agree that Chitty won't be west end bound too. However, I think Mary Poppins might edge it's way back to London. I think it would be a really good limited run at the Drury Lane whilst they find a new long time inning poroeuction. I hope this happens!

I'd welcome a Mary Poppins return. I have never seen it live before so would love to catch it I grew up with the film and even though I know there are differences, I love it so bring it on if it proves to be true!

Maybe American Psycho could get a West End transfer if it gets a good reception on Broadway? Although I can't see it winning a massive amount of Tony's this year if it's eligible this year alongside Hamilton.
