Indeed, as others have said. “Lottery.” The clue is in the name!

Jac’s off tonight so Michael Pickering is debuting as Joseph. Wish I’d seen that! He was the last Rusty in Starlight before the 30th revision and is one of the best I’ve ever seen in that role. Incredible energy and enthusiasm! Wonder who did his track for Those Canaan Days...

I’ve entered the Hamilton lottery more than 50 times and never won, Tina quite a few times and never won and Joseph a few times and won once. It’s luck of the draw, and no point complaining about it. There’s plenty of other offers available out there to go and enjoy something else. If you’re desperate to see something, then pay for it.

How long do we think it will be before some unofficial audio finds it's way onto YouTube or something. Invariably it will

If the comments about complaining are directed at my post, I should point out that of course I understand that lotteries are games of chance - and like alece10, I've yet to win one. So not winning is fair enuough, albeit obviously disappointing. My points were that leaving entrants potentially waiting for so long to hear the outcome seems unreasonable - I couldn't find any warning about this and wanted to book something else if I wasn't seeing Joseph - as does allowing winners to book up to 4 tickets instead of the usual 1 or 2. I'm entitled to my opinion and to express it, so if the above is considered complaining, so be it - no-one has to agree with me.

Like you, I was just expressing my opinion too about complaints on where the seats are located. I agree, the length of time to wait is too long in comparison to other shows. I guess I’m used to the daily lotteries on TodayTix, or the 24 hour wait on Hamilton - which one day soon hopefully I’ll finally win 🤞🏼.

I wonder if the 4 ticket limit is because it's a family musical? I say 2 tickets and leave the kids at home.😁

Jac has been off since Saturday. I’m in again at the end of the week- I do like to see understudies and it’ll be interesting to see a different take on Joseph if he’s still off then.

so do they no longer sell show merchandise online? I went to the Joseph home page and was surprised not to see a link for anything

For those who have seen both Jac and Michael as Joseph...how do they compare?

Since I'm sitting around waiting for a service person to arrive to do some work - I went on the Joseph site just to look at tickets - and for the next week of performances at least - all you see is single seats here and there. I don't think I counted more than 20 available tickets per performance. Have to admit, a show 50 years old that's been revived countless times - selling out a huge theatre like that is damn impressive.

Does anyone know why Jac was off for some performances? I’ve heard on the grapevine he’s may have lost his voice, but can’t verify it!

Although these days so many performers seem to only do 5 or 6 shows a week. Not like the old timers like Imelda Staunton and her generation.

And this is why we cast seasoned, experienced performers in lead roles...

Joseph is hardly a big sing either.
so now the show has 3 leads that can't sing.
And yes, i am being snarky before you go clutching those pearls....

Joseph is 2 solos and a few bits here and there.
Not a big sing at all

It won’t be that. Students at a school like Arts Ed sing much more daily than Jac is required to at the moment. As a graduate, he will be in the best condition ever to play a role like this - he won’t have developed any bad habits. Likely to be more to do with his vocal health - how much is he going out drinking etc.

Everyone gets ill, including highly trained performers. Jac should be back fairly soon.

After last week's lottery outcome and given reports above re ticket sales (great for the show and venue indeed), I'm not waiting around again but have already entered for next week.

Seeing the show on Monday night. Anyone have any stage door experiences with this current production? Would love to meet the cast afterwards and have a photo with national treasure Sheridan Smith 😛

I went to stage door last week, Jason came out first signed a few programmes then went back in to get his bike, Jac came out a few minutes later and signed and took photos and during this time the security guys came back out with some signed headshots of Sheridan and said she wouldnt be out

It's a strange stage door. There is very little room and the powers that be certainly won't want people blocking the pavement and the busy road outside.

As it is a limited run I think Jason and Sheridan will be discouraged to stage door as much as possible so they don't pick up any bugs and miss shows. This certainly was case at the Funny Girl Tour.
It's a case of protect their huge investment/s or disappoint a few people after the show. Sad but I can completely understand it.
