It should have been Lauren - she was by far the weakest dancer of the evening.

I voted for Lauren because I thought she had been undermarked . That Argentine tango stuff is hard and Graeme was just trotting around the room. Sorry to lose Kate, again she had that AG in previous week and it was v tricky. But her dance this week was too safe.

AJ and Lauren did the worse dance but I could see them getting a lot of public votes plus they had scored higher than Kate for the last few weeks.
With Charles having two great weeks is he now a legit contender, I don't see it quite.
The bookies still have Stacey and Joe as favourites over Ashley and Faye so those 4 would look likely finalists.
Graeme and Charles don't seem to have the support that Lauren has so could go before her.

Oti was fabulous in the Trolley Song but Graeme looked completely out of place. By far the worst dancer of the night, but not as dull as Faye.

He's not the best dancer by far, but I can see Joe winning this year. He's very likeable, has shown great progress and if his social media followers all vote, the others don't stand a chance.

It doesn't seem fair that someone does a hard dance and so gets marked down and then someone does an easy dance and gets high marks. I love the couple's choice dances but they seem to be very highly marked so help the couple get through that week.

I agree Nick. I suppose they don’t want the couple's choice to be doomed. And maybe they get extra help with the choreography.

I'm usually completely a dance purist, but I haven't warmed to any of the really good dancers this year, whereas I think Graeme & Oti's partnership is brilliant (anyone feeling a bit down should watch their carpool karaoke Instagram stories!) and I also really like Lauren (plus AJ isn't irritating me this year for the first time ever!), so I have been voting for both of those partnerships and am delighted they are still in!
I liked Kate as well but she wasn't really improving.

I figured it would come down to the two of them.
For me Lauren was by far the weakest.

Not 100% confirmed but Lauren v Graeme Graeme out is the leading rumour so far On the Strictly Spoiler, but he stresses it's unconfirmed and could not be true, it was between Ashley and Graeme, and Graeme is out. But as he couldn't confirm it with usual sources, it might not be true.

Now confirmed it’s Graeme.
Travesty that Ashley was bottom two. But the judges are turning on her now, and being more picky than they are with some of the others in order to make make sure she doesn’t win.

It's quite right they're being more picky with her though. She's supposed to be this "amazing" dancer but she's not made any improvement since the beginning really. The dancers who are good from the beginning rarely win anyway. It doesn't help that she's got all the personality and stage presence of a dish mop either.

I love Strictly conspiracy theories, on another forum I read that they undermarked her as 40's every week won't get her votes, here it's to get rid of her!
I doubt they need to do anything to get rid of her, she's too good to win and won't have the votes, file her with Danny Mac and Alexandra.
Shame because with Kate and Graeme gone she's the only one left with an ounce of personality and although always a good dancer has became much stronger technically and better at selling a Strictly dance.

As Ashley got the lindyhop points as well it means hardly anyone voted for her. People obviously voting for Lauren cos she is obviously a determined person and AJ has a following I expect. I know it wasn’t epoch making but her dance was more 'honest' than Graeme's - stoopid way of putting it it but I can’t think how else to say it. Ashley needs to do a perfect ballroom to stay in. Too much hopping and skipping for the Grandmas. The kids are out at Xmas parties so only the old uns and the little uns left to vote.

It is a pretty clear indication that Ashley won't have the public support to win
Which many have long suspected but had no proof either way.

Ashley and Pasha won the Lindy-hop-a-thon so were then joint 2nd on the leaderboard and would have got 6 points along with Kevin and the Dooley. Faye and Gio would have been 7 points, Joe and Di 5 points etc down to AJ and Lauren on 2 points.
If Ashley and Pasha were in the bottom two they must have come bottom of the public votes if they rank them 1 to 7. In ties the public vote takes priority and when teams tie on the leaderboard the lower teams often benefit from an extra point.
But with Pashley being in the bottom two in my calculation AJ and Lauren must have been at least 2nd on the public vote :-
Pashley 7 points from judge's vote and 1 point from public vote = 8 Lauren and AJ 2 points from judge's vote and 6 points from public vote = 8 (But public points take priority in tie break so AJ/Lauren ahead).
If Charles had say been in bottom 2 with Oti and Swanny then it would have made sense.
There is a risk a couple of big hitters could end up in a dance off next week or the SF.

People have gone on to win after a dance-off appearance in the past, so it is nonsensical to write Ashley off already.
Yes, she is likely to end up as a runner up because the best dancer hasn't won for many years now, but I still live in hope that one day the British public will actually recognise the dancing not just the showy routines that lack substance. Unfortunately this year is becoming even more of the latter for even the best dancers, so I feel I may well be hoping in vain...

Caroline Flack and Abbey Clancy were certainly in dance offs on their way to winning but Abbey's year was very open if I recall.
I always say look at the Bookies odds they have Stacey at Evens, Joe 2-1, Ashley 6-1 and Faye 7-1.
A majority of us would probably say Ashley and Faye are better dancers than the other two but the bookies clearly don't think they will win or they would not be offering 6 or 7 to 1 over them as those odds would be snapped up in a heartbeat.

I think some people think being the best dancer as the one who puts all of the steps one is taught in the right order (and Ashley and Faye do execute that very well without doubt) but, whether one likes it or not, dancing is also about performance and interpretation of the music with the steps as well and there, Stacey and Joe beat Ashley and Faye hands down. Every time. Even the judges recognise that.

I prefer Ashley to Faye as even though they are both good dancers Ashley's the much stronger performer and can sell a dance, pretty much the only contestant who can this year, Faye is a bit bland.
Stacey and Joe are generally decent mid level Strictly celebs but compared to similar level celebs in the past their performance skills are non existent. I'm bored of them within seconds of the dance starting.

Every time Not for me they don't. And for me performance is meaningless if it isn't accompanied by proper technique. Hence the style over substance comment. To me, Stacey is often style over substance, and I don't rate Joe for either.

Ashley I think suffers from being seen as a "trained dancer", Faye has done some dancing before but no more than say Louise or Alexandra Burke had done and both those two came up short.

Ashley & Pasha vs Charles & Karen
Charles & Karen Out
5th time unlucky for Charles - but he was never going to survive that one
Ashley cannot win this
Lauren can...which would be a travesty

It was blatant bad choreography for Charles and a boring costume. Wonder what will happen if it is Faye v Ashley next week.

Faye v Ashley would see Faye saved.
Ashley would probably only be saved against Lauren.
More interesting would be Stacey v Joe - couldn't call that one.

She should also be saved against Stacey but that relies on the judges actually having some sense. Stacey v Joe would see Stacey saved I suspect. I think Joe would struggle to win a dance-off against anyone except Lauren.
