The only 'unique' voice is the Irish lad who has quite a high singing voice but he doesn't have much personality, I'm not sure he will last unless he really perks up a bit.

Giovanni Spano who has been in numerous musicals over the years often playing the comedy sidekick has got through in Mrs Robbie's team. Good to see him doing well at something a bit different.

This show really should of just ended once Little Mix won. It's just embarrassing to watch these days, no one is remotely in the same league as Little Mix, Leona, Alexandra etc, good lord.

In my opinion, the girls are winning tonight. Loved Bella for her unique rapping skills, Shan gave me Leona/ vibes vocally, and Molly I was very impressed - at her age she is very talented.
I did not enjoy Giovanni, the boy band, the Jamaican man and the woman who sang Clarity. They'll be at the bottom of the rankings for me.
The choir were distinctly average.

Giovanni is really not up there at all for me. I thought his first audition was incredibly self indulgent. The judges weren't even that keen first time around. To add to that, he hasn't for the winning kinds image, or music type I don't think. I think he will make it in a few weeks, but I don't imagine he will get too far in.

Me and my family think he’ll be in the bottom three. I can’t imagine any people voting for him.
I’ll be using the free app votes on Bella, Anthony, Molly, Shan and maybe another vote for Bella.

I re-watched his first audition the other day and it made me just cringe. I agree I think he'll be in the Bottom three. The issue too is I don't think he is coming across that well, and that doesn't make for many votes. It's a shame cause he is great in Bat!

I really hated LMA Choir. It was all about the conductor who is such a try hard that it is painful. The lead vocalist didn't have enough focus in the presentation. I don't want to see a conductor lunging around the stage. It is about the singers not her.
It wasn't badly sung - but they have no place in this competition. BGT semi-final at best.
I also saw no value in Olatunji - the track was weak, his voice is weak. Just slightly creepy.
Vocal star is clearly Shan - even though I can't stand Imagine as a song.

Thinking more about it, the boys category is also weak on the basis of tonight's show. Armstrong was all over the place and Dalton sang really badly.

The girls were were the best by a long shot, but Scarlet was very average I thought.

I thought that was one if the worst shows I’ve seen in a long time. Boring, sub-par acts (mostly) and incredibly boring judges. They could lose at least half of them now for me - too many put through in the first place. And I agree about the choir leader - how annoying was she in the staging? She needs to go, or just join in. Watching after Strictly, which I find fun and quite positive, it all seemed a bit downbeat, and everyone sounded desperate. But then I suppose it’s “ all they’ve ever wanted to do, their last chance, etc.” Still. Keala Settle tonight.

"I have so much more to give!" That put me right off. It was bad enough when one of the Overs did it (adding that she was 50, presumably to emphasise that this was her last ever chance of having a music career), but when one of the Girls did it (adding that she'd been dreaming of being on XF since she was 7), it became truly ridiculous!

I think The X factor has really lost its way. The show last night had no atmosphere and I think really needs to end now after this series. The days when X factor contestants went on to be successful after are pretty much over. Even Dermot just seemed to be going through the motions. The judges are pretty dire too. From a former lover of the X factor I don't think I will bother to watch next week.

Settle is screaming rather than singing most of this.
Not a pleasant live experience. Ouch.

Olatunji first out - not a shock. He had nothing new to offer.
Janice v Armstrong for sing off...
I can see the headlines now.

If they kick Janice out over this mess from Armstrong, there is something wrong with the audio in the studio.
He can't sing in tune.

Keala sounded like she was struggling. Rak-Su aren’t my cup of tea.
I’m sure this all-black bottom 3 will go down well with the newspapers.

Right result from that sing-off.
But I will be amazed if there is not a race-related backlash because of the bottom three.

Giovanni is so dated.
He should become a Bon Jovi tribute act. He has zero relevance to today's market.
Janice was the far better singer in the sing off and deserved to stay.

I don't really know who is voting for Gio. The grannies, or any potential Bat Out of Hell fans?

There is still a market for middle of the road rock. It is not to my taste - but he sang a well-known song with gusto. He didn't try to be clever or different for the sake of it. And there were far worse performers on that stage last night.
He won't win - that's for sure.

Bat Out of Hell have a rabid fanbase, and all of the cast are pushing fans to vote for Giovanni. The issue for him will be, as less people remain, the amount of people voting against him will be greater. Also, his voice isn't that great in my opinion to sustain a sing-off. He has a real rock vibe with his voice, if he does a ballad like they usually do for a sing-off, that could be his downfall.
One of the Bat fans just told me on twitter he is still offically part of the cast, which is smart, as if he leaves in the early stages he still has a job. But even if he wins, the last place he'll want to be is the Bat stage. Are the producers attempting to make people see he is in the cast and buy tickets for the show? He's not even a remote draw for people is he, great as he is in the show.

I don't like Gio. He's not that good and he pulls some weird faces while singing (at judges houses at least, haven't seen first live show).

Just watched the first live show. Ugh, what a weak Top 16. I miss the old days and contestants like Rhydian Roberts, Leon Jackson, Ruth Lorenzo, Little Mix, Katie Waissel...
Misunderstood: well, they are fun, put on a good show, but vocals are average.
Anthony Russell: oh hi, I can't stand you so I'm just gonna skip your performance lol.
Danny Tetley: he's not bad, but he's so boring and there's no way he's gonna be successful. Maybe as a karaoke singer or a cruise ship entertainer.
Molly Scott: finally someone I enjoy!
Janice Robinson: I really like her! Pitchy at some points, but my fave so far.
Brendan Murray: ew ew ew ewwwww!! I hate his voice!
Bella Penfold: boring and amateurish.
Armstrong Martins: that was painful.
Giovanni Spano: oh, so actually I loved it, lmao!
United Vibe: producers just keep forming groups each series and it's just not gonna work anymore. I'd tap one of them, can't remember his name, I hope he's not underage. Anyway, boring performance.
Shan Ako: I loooove her!!!
Jumanji Yearbook or whatever: someone kill me.
Scarlett Lee: that was so good! Love her!! My fave by far!
LMA Choir: hey Mrs. Conductor, I. CAN. NOT. F*CKING. STAND. YOU. They sounded great but she ruined it for me.
Acacia & Aleeyah: meh. Not terrible, but not good.
Dalton Harris: great song choice, I really enjoyed his performance.
So my Top 3 is: Scarlett, Shan and Dalton.
Happy with who got sent home.

I am so glad that I am not the only one who can't stand the conductor from LMA - she is so selfish in her performance. Get her off the stage.

|

Post by Deleted on Oct 22, 2018 21:20:06 GMT
The LMA conductor seems to think that the choir is all about her, without taking into account the two dozen-ish others who share the stage with her. A choir is meant to be an ENSEMBLE - together - and her attention seeking performance just sticks out like a sore thumb.
