It's very pleasant in Cornwall I must say. Off to the beach to drink lashings of ginger beer. Or Cornish wine.

Anyone else looking at next week's weather forecast & thinking that death might be a more appealing option?
A recent conversation at work. They know me:
Colleage 1 (just back from holiday in Spain) "I wish I could go and live in Spain." Colleague 2 (Hungarian so used to hot summers) "I wish I could go and live in Italy." Me "I wish I could go and live..." Colleague 1 (interjects) "In Norway?" Me "Somewhere above the Arctic Circle at any rate!"

Wondering if this year's mosquitos are a particularly virulent variety. Having had a bite on my elbow swell up massively a couple of weeks ago, I've now got one on my knee that has done the same. Very glad I was theatregoing yesterday & not today as walking is currently uncomfortable.

^Get better soon Dawnstar . Wonder if the Cambridge python has been cross-breeding... I did try asking if he was responsible after my first bite but he said that he doesn't bite, he just squeezes & swallows!
I don't usually do selfies but...

My knee was somewhat better this morning but then swelled up again when I did the ironing this afternoon. I always thought I was allergic to housework!

Did you just look at the weather forecast? Aaaaaarrrggghhh!!!! Should I be worried that the UV level symbol on the weather forecast is a tombstone?

I’m very fortunate, I don't have to leave the house and I have an electric fan.

Yesterday the Met Office was saying that the peak temperature on Thursday would be 31°. Now they say 34°.

I heard a potential maximum 37° for my area on Thursday, and we're not even a big awful heat-retaining city like London. I'm already very upset in advance.

Just flown down from Inverness where by its normal standards its been too hot and muggy at about 25C. Flight delayed so for over 3 hours I've been on board a cool air-conditioned plane but will no doubt shortly be walking into a wall of heat.

Same here. I'm so stressed by this weather. Walking out of work today felt like walking into hot soup, & it wasn't as if I was coming out of a very cool office as the air con is pretty useless so I'm too hot all day at work then leave & am even hotter. I really don't know how I'm going to cope on Thursday when it'll be another 4 degrees higher.

I'm just telling myself that it can't make much difference. Once we reach Much Too Hot, a few more degrees is neither here nor there. Searching for hope...

So happy it's only mid twenties where I am and that the weather forecast for Thursday is 23. Good luck everyone dealing with horribly hot weather, hope if you're having thunderstorms tonight they help cool things down.

I am seriously considering doing a rain dance in my back yard tonight in the hope that it will work and just bring a bit of cooler weather for a day or two.

I've just cleared out the garage and filled a skip (getting the house ready to go on the market, so unfortunately it did have to be done this week). I am now going to drink an unfeasible quantity of Vimto.

Still. Fizzy Vimto is an abomination.

Do they still do Dandelion & Burdock in the wastelands of the North? I think there's a blanket ban and hefty fines South of Nottingham

Had a number of Tweets from Theatres in the last few days, if you want to cool down come and watch a show in our air conditioned Theatre.
Would this entice you? or an almost desperate way to sell seats.
The corollary would be more useful to know, couldn’t imagine what it would be like in the Lyric Hammersmith in this heat, it was oppressive a few weeks ago, couldn’t see myself making it through Noises Off If seeing it this week.

The Hackney hipsters lap it up in an ironic fashion of course.
