Went to see Wicked on Broadway tonight and of course it was very special, especially so because I've decided this will be my last Wicked trip for a long while. I still love the show but don't get the same excitement as when it first came into my life so I've decided to part with it for now on good terms. I actually got a bit teary in For Good because it really summed up what the show means to me. I'm not embarrassed to say that this show changed my life; it taught me so many valuable lessons that I will treasure forever, brought me so much happiness and introduced me to a whole world of theatre that I'm so happy to be a part of. While I did very much want to see Sophie as Glinda I've decided it's silly to go all the way to London to see how she tosses her hair slightly differently to Suzie or Savannah instead of seeing a completely new show. I really do think now was the best time to let go for now, what better way to end my Wicked journey than at the original broadway production with a fabulous Glinda and an amazing Elphaba.
Is anyone here who is skeptical about the new cast going to see them anytime soon? I'd like to see if opinions change having seen the new cast. I doubt I'll be able to make it over to see them myself unless they extend well into 2019.
