Tom Hargreaves plays Fiyero for the hundredth time today. As a cover that's pretty impressive. Is David Witts ever on? He's clocking in four more performances this week! Tom is the best Fiyero 👌

Saw the show Tuesday night, first time watching the London production in two years. Wasn't impress. Alice and Sophie have lovely voices but they were going through the motions, ensemble lacked energy and missed some cues. Lots of innapropriate shouting from Alice. 'well if that's LOVE,' in Defying Gravity springs to mind. And too much riffing at the end. It really must be a matter of personal preference. I love the ensemble. I love Sophie's Glinda and every time Alice shouts that line I get chills and start crying. Not to mention the riffs she does which kill me off every time!

Wicked will definitely have a new Madame Morrible at cast change as Melanie La Barrie just announced as joining the (amazing) cast of & Juliet. Most people are leaving I'm afraid (not sure about those who joined in 2018, but 2017 for sure). The website Mandy is currently hiring for all roles, including covers and ensemble. Auditions are going on now. It's sad times cos Im very attached to this cast They always advertise for all roles so I wouldn't read too much into that.

Sorry everyone, but I'm going to have to take this offline for a bit while we consider it, as there's the potential to create a world of pain for the board.
Please use PMs for sharing things.

It’ll be nice to get back to Wicked, though.

Sometimes this thread just goes around in circles. Riffs, certain individuals, more riffs, poor stage door etiquette, even more riffs.

In fact, can we buy the Les Mis revolve when it gets auctioned? I think we should make The Ongoing Wicked Discussion Thread The Musical.

And this is why I am having a long, long break from the show after Alice and Sophie depart.

I need to see her again, but I just need a break. So maybe I’ll go to cast change, and then see one Ross show, and probably her cast change. Then that’s it. (oh who am I kidding I’ll see the next tour every day when it comes to Scotland)

Might I add, the 2018 touring cast too. Nobody will top the dynamic duo that is Ross and Woolf, in my humble opinion.

In the unlikely event that Lucie Jones hasn't booked Jenna, I'd love to see her take over. She'd sing and act the absolute hell out of this role, she'd be amazing. Also she's age appropriate, I wish we could see some more youthful Elphabas in their mid to late twenties, I don't know why they feel the need to always cast women north of 35 lately! (Except Rachel obviously, I'd happily have her back age 60)

I’d be happy if they’d filmed the closing performance of the tour and set that as the standard for all future casts to live up to.
Well, maybe edit out Aaron Sidwell nearly tearing down the forest at the end of ALAYM.

Benjamin Yates was in watching the other night. I'd love to see him as the next London Fiyero. I second this. By far my favourite Fiyero of the four I’ve seen.

I saw this on Wednesday eve having not seen the London company since Alexia Khadime's first run. It's held up great! I recall reading on the forum some people aren't too keen on the current leads but I have to say, I thought they were both great, Alice especially who has one heck of a voice! I don't want to make this sound as though I'm opening a window for bashing or anything but I'm curious to hear why people on here aren't the biggest fans of Alice and Sophie

heard Alice at a West End Live video, could not listen to a whole minute, very screechy
audiowise i don’t like Sophie as Glinda, also she does not look like Glinda too for me🤷🏻♀️

This transforms itself into quite a harsh, shouty singing tone at times. She riffs a LOT - it seems as though she could trust the score and trust her ability to tell a story without displaying anger and frustration so overtly. She has an absolutely incredible voice, I personally wish she would use it more and just sing the score as written.

I'd always fancied Lucie Jones as more of a Glinda 🤔
