It's a shame. I'm up on the edge of row P in the circle as it was I could really afford, annoying they haven't lowered the prices. Will be the first cast change I've seen this empty... still, looking forward to seeing Willemijn one final time - it's been a really special year this 10th anniversary.

Dare I say it maybe they also dont have the massive fan following that the likes of Rachel,Louise, Kerry, etc had. Anyway I'm sure they get a good send off tonight Perhaps, however when looking at Monday too, I would expect a top West End show to be selling far more tickets than that. When looking at a theatre of a similarish size, such as the Lyceum, you see that it's pretty much sold out for tonight. Does make me wonder whether the show in general is losing its appeal

I've never seen an Elphaba quite like Idina. The comments on the previous page say it all "I've never seen her live" - everyone that did see her live is unanimous about the fact that her performance was in a league of its own.
Sat on my sofa, 2 hours before curtain up, I am the least excited I've ever been about a cast change. I think because Willemijn is so incredible every time, surely she won't be able to go much better? Hope there aren't too many riffs.

Just collected my tickets for tonight as the usual suspects are queuing at stage door - I'm 99% they're not coming out between shows so why queue?!
Unless they want to tell someone that the way they twirled their ribbon was the best ever?!

I'm not really sure what to expect tonight. Never seen this cast.
Sounds like Willemijn riffed her way through TWAI.
Any muck ups ?

Cast Change involves the camp out for tickets, then straight to the stage door to speak to the cast. Watch the matinee. Stage door and try to speak to the cast again. Evening show then try and speak to the cast again.
It's always been that way and to be honest, most Saturdays are like that too. Although normally my twitter is normally buzzing like mad weeks before as everyone fights each other to be in charge of compiling a leaving book for someone. I've seen little of it this time, I can't even find anything at all out about any muck ups at the matinee.

I couldve made it today as a last minute decision. Looked at the ticket, stuffed it back in an envelope and decided it wasnt worth the effort.

Sorry i disagree, i did see her live (also saw her in Chess) and she came no where near living up to the hype. Probably my second to last in my list of favourite Elphabas

Its always been about the show for me but Idina was utterly brilliant as Elphabas go for me. The vast majority of those I've spoken to who saw her live at the time agree.

Have we not gathered yet in our 400 plus pages (plus the thousands in the old forum...) that love for the Elphabi is a personal thing.
What one person loathes another loves.

No performer will ever be to everybodys taste, there is no right or wrong, no definitive answer.

Well that is ridiculous, you should/could have given it to someone else to enjoy. I've offered it to people. I wanted to be able to decide myself on the day if I wanted to go. I made that decision about 2 hours ago. I wouldnt travel to London to hand the ticket over because its a hassle of a journey and those I know in Brighton who mightve been interested didnt fancy it. Your idea is a fine one when its possible and simple to make that transaction. Today with 3 hours until curtain it wasnt. Many apologies that I have failed to do the correct thing!!

Loved Idina when I saw her as well. Although I have to say that every time I have seen her since (admittedly only on telly)she has failed to live up to that performance.

I was just thinking about Carina and how she's been off so much. Doesn't bode well when she's heading straight into another contract...

Ok so insert your own superlatives, as you'd expect I'm going to rave about the show.
Interval and everyone has stepped up their game. Suzie has the audience laughing at every moment and Willemijn/Sue Kelvin are responding too to her moments of humour.
Willemijn is a powerhouse and her acting choices are brilliant. There are riffs but they're tame - I'm not going to say she's holding back but more that she's singing to score which is really welcomed!
Ensemble were crying during Dancing Through Life you could tell that most of the are leaving and they're feeling the emotion!

My favourite moment, from being able to see into the wings from my seat, was Sue Kelvin applauding like crazy after Ms Verkaik's The Wizard And I.
Nothing more I can add than what's already been said above!

Who is the longest standing cast member? From the ensemble I'm guessing Joseph Fletcher if you exclude Hannah Toy, Kerry Enright is on maternity leave but think they were the same contract.

Oh boy, the "everybody look at me I'm desperate for attention" club reached new levels tonight....during For Good, a large portion of the front centre section of the stalls proceeded to pull out green glow sticks and hold them in the air. Whether they were going for a Harry Potter wand salute style thing or what I have no idea, but it was an almighty distraction and like nothing I've seen before. You really couldn't make it up. God bless the army of ushers who pounced almost instantly and confiscated them all.
Other than that they were generally well behaved.
Show was great, lovely farewell speeches from Willemijn and Suzie to round it off. 21 company members in total leaving.

There are no words...
Who would possibly think that was a good idea? Complete disregard for the rest of the audience, the majority of whom had no idea there was a cast change and did not care.

OH that's what I saw the ushers running on the front row for! I got offered one by a fan outside the theatre, I just rolled my eyes and went 'you gotta be kidding'. Apart from weird entrance applauses they were well. Shaved!
Great show. Willemijn and Suzie both gave majestic performances. But Sue Kelvin almost outdid them. Like I'd give her some kind of award for that tonight. Utterly brilliant 😂 Speeches were very emotional, Willemijn saying 'you have no idea how much that meant tonight' hit me like. A. TRAIN.
