As i understand it,that is the issue. I think it will transfer but not for months maybe. If at all. I know that various west end theatre owners and producers saw it and none were too impressed. It appears to have sold very well - surely that’s what matters to theatre owners and producers? I saw it several times on and off peak and there were rarely any empty seats. Not bad for a 1000+ regional theatre.

Not bad for a 1000+ regional theatre. Yes but selling well for a limited season at a theatre with a built in audience is very different to selling well in the crowded West End. Plus the bigger theatres have many shows vying for them.

Not sure if he knows more than anyone else but Baz tweeted this in reply to someone who asked if he thinks the show will get a west end transfer....

According to Greg Doran article on WOS, this was due to follow Sunday in the Park into the Savoy later this year. Plan is to get Matilda back first by sounds of things

Plan is to get Matilda back first by sounds of things He also says about the cast album which was meant to launch the West End run, but I hope that gets released soon. Hearing the above video has sparked lovely memories of seeing it in Stratford (twice, which is rare for me!), I can't wait for it to return!

I remember really enjoying it when I saw it last year in Stratford. It is one of those pieces that has some heart to it.

The cast recording can now be pre-ordered from iTunes... music.apple.com/gb/album/the-boy-in-the-dress-original-cast-recording/1539149640...and I've got to say, the preview samples are sounding FANTASTIC! Bloody loved this show so much. Also glad they went for the artwork the RSC used later in the run for the cover opposed to the original poster image AND it features "If I Don't Cry" and "A House Without A Mum" as bonus demo tracks by Robbie Williams!
