It's crazy to think that, by the time the beginning of 2017 comes with Charlie closure, Matilda will be the only child heavy show on the West End! I mean, I know something like Kinky has two children but that is only for the opening scene and the bows, whereas two huge child heavy shows close within a year of one-another! Given Thriller, Les Mis, Matilda and Kinky Boots are still running and Cursed Child will have child roles plus the upcoming School of Rock, I don't think we'll seeing a mass unemployment of child actors after Billy Elliot and Charlie have closed!

Oh I forgot Thriller had a child!
And in fairness, little Eponine literally does nothing! At least little Cosette gets a song!

Tag team Billy is brilliant. They keep swapping in the middle of scenes and big dances are all on together.
Angry dance with all 4 was brilliant. There were 3 Michaels in Expressing Yourself, and 3 Debbies offering up their fannies.
The dream sequence it wouldn't surprise me if current older Billy and the 3 originals come on to dance with all the current ones.

I'm guessing they won't all fly as the stage really isn't big enough and I dunno if they would of build new harnesses in.

That was something really special.
All Billy's on his bed reading the acceptance letter.
Ruthie broke down when she said goodbye to Billy and addressed them all by name.
Billy addressed Michael (Nathan) by name at the end.
Only one Billy in the dream dance and Electricity. I thought they would all do bits of Electricity, but that may have been too messy. The roof went off at the end of that dance, so props to whichever Billy it was, he nailed it.
Elton appeared at the end and all Billys came on stage with cast for a bow. Then appeared again in their Billy shirts after the final dance.
Wonderful evening.
Love you forever......

Brilliant send off for Billy Elliot. Those 4 Billy's were just stunning. No idea who performed Electricity. but that had a full entire theatre up on their feet

Oh, and the East Durham Trust brass band came on stage to accompany Once We Were Kings and The Letter reprise. That was amazing.
Gah, I want to go home and watch the live DVD now.

Wasn't a great evening, but it was a special evening.
Touching to see Ruthie Henshall break down.
Funny when Tony said at the end there will be no work from here to Port Talbot a quip at the closure of the steel works.
Mr Wallico bet you are glad you got the midnight coach now?

Mr Wallacio bet you are glad you got the midnight coach now? Absolutely. I never really thought it would kick out much before it did. I was actually pretty satisfied with the view from the GC at the VP which I wasn't expecting considering I am usually such a seat snob. Will this cause a transformation in me? Doubtful, but it's a possibility.

What were the speeches like at the beginning and the end and who spoke apart from Elton, Stephen Daldry and Liam Mower?

Elton didn't speak, just appeared when the curtain came up after Billy walked up the aisle and ushered the 4 Billys on stage.
The CEO of the East Durham Trust spoke at the start. Called Maggie an evil woman.
No speeches at the end, just lots of bows and rapturous applause. Then a stage hand came on to drag Cam Mac back or he'd get hit by the curtain as it came down, which one of the Debbies did.

Liam listed the number of Billys, Michaels, Debbies and ballet girls there had been, Stephen spoke about the show being seen in a number of countries and that he met the CEO of the East Durham Trust a few days ago when he went to the opening of the tour in Sunderland I believe.

I was in the GC row F, and actually happy with the view. Didn't seem as high up as i thought it would be.
Anyone else notice 1 of the Debbie's going flying when jumping off a chair, she recovered very well,

Obviously everyone saw the Debbie faceplant as she was leaving the stage before Ruthie's breakdown.

They put so much effort and thought into tonight

I obvs had too high expectations but i assumed the current and old Billy's would have done a dance routine together ( after curtain call and final bows)

I obvs had too high expectations but i assumed the current and old Billy's would have done a dance routine together ( after curtain call and final bows) Probably would have been too hard to rehearse as the old Billy's came from all over just for tonight. The live recording finale was something different. The night was running long anyway, ran 3 hours 20 minutes with all the ovation stops and speeches. There's probably a curfew of 11pm too. I'm not sure when I'm going to come down off the cloud I'm on from tonight. Usually by now I'm zonked out on the coach after a two show day, but I'm absolutely buzzing.

I didn't see Cameron Mackintosh, was he on stage? He was on stage for the final final bow, so you may have missed him considering the vast amount of people on that stage. Unless I'm going completely mad. I swear I saw him at the end.

It's possible I am getting him mixed up with Stephen Daldry, but I swear I saw both of them on stage.
To be fair it's hard to make everyone out when you're in the GC.

At that time I was busy trying to take photos with my Ipad, then you had a confetti canon go off, then it all ended rather abrbtly.

Has the Billy Elliot posters and everything been taken down from the theatre now? Since the show has closed.
