Perhaps they are waiting for the new London cast to be made official so they can make a joint announcement in one day? Perhaps Emma and Savannah are transferring to the tour so they ARE waiting to announce London first?! Whoa. Didn't you get the memo to never ever joke about Emma and Savannah staying with Wicked even longer?

Didn't you get the memo to never ever joke about Emma and Savannah staying with Wicked even longer? I could live with Savannah staying, but not Emma. I don't think she's very good as Elphaba. But it's probably time for Savannah to leave the show as well. As much as I love her, 3 years of someone playing the same role is more than enough.

It eases my heart knowing that the international tour cast will not be featuring either Emma or Savannah (as confirmed through SD). If it were the case I would not be looking forward to my trip whatsoever and would probably find some excuse to sell my tickets, accommodation and flights! Personally, I am hoping if we do get anyone to return as Elphaba it will be Hayley Gallivan, I would love to see her and I have been told she is a strong belter which is never a bad thing.
Ideally, we'll get an entirely new cast, which I would love, going into something completely unknown is quite exciting!

Of the Elphabas I've seen, the only ones I would actively want to see again would be Nikki and Willemijn (in addition I've seen Rachel, Louise, Hayley, Jemma and Emma). Of the ones I missed, I would love to see Jenny DiNoia give it a go, as I heard nothing but great things about her performance.
Though as I've said, I want new witches in both companies, please no recycling this time!

Just a thought....
Do we think casting news could be delayed because of work visas?
We've mostly assumed that the tour will be getting a UK Elphaba/Glinda/cast but in reality as the UK leg is only six weeks then it's offshore for the rest, there's every possibility that we could be getting International/US/Australian cast?
Therefore a delay could be getting the required work visas/equity support etc for the UK leg if any of the cast aren't British?!

They don't have to be in a specific country in order for the cast to be announced though. I'm sure that for most of them getting the required visa won't be a problem

I was expecting it to be Jackie. And the rumour of Carly Anderson was true after all

And I guess that the visa requirements for Europeans/Americans/Australians are pretty much the same anyway, so there shouldn't be much of a difference to get a work visa for e.g. Singapore for a British or an American actress.

Happy for Carly Anderson (and excited to see her), but I'm pretty disappointed that they've recycled a former Elphaba. Well, at least it saves me the money to travel to Singapore then.

Wow!!! Fantastic casting, Bradley Jaden as Fiyero too!
The tour stars:
Jacqueline Hughes as Elphaba, Carly Anderson as Glinda, Bradley Jaden as Fiyero, Steven Pinder as The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond, Kim Ismay as Madame Morrible, Iddon Jones as Boq and Emily Shaw as Nessarose.

I've had the feeling Jackie would be Elphaba ever since the tour was announced. But people kept telling me she wouldn't leave the Mary Poppins tour. My gut was right all along And Carly remins me of another great Glinda, Katie Rose Clarke

This is a big breakthrough for Jackie - congratulations to her (and Carly). I am keeping an open mind as I have not seen either of them in a principal role, although I did see Jackie recently in Mary Poppins. I guess some will be disappointed with the news but I'm quite happy to see them in Bradford and make a judgement then.

Finally a cast to get excited about! I won't be seeing the this cast unless they're still in the tour when it allegedly returns to the UK again for Birmingham etc. (or has this been confirmed?)
It's just heartening to see some completely new faces in the cast (new to Wicked, anyway).
Exciting to see Natasha Ferguson in the ensemble again. Hopefully she'll still be an Elphaba understudy. I loved her in Brum on tour!

Yes I imagine so, as Natasha Ferguson was 2nd u/s last time and I believe only went on a couple of times. Like Andy614, I feel very fortunate to have seen her. Having such a young actress in the role of Elphaba really changed the dynamics of the show for me (and I'm not one to worry about the age of actresses in the role. Willemijn Verkaik is still my no.1, so I certainly don't think a younger actress is necessary, but in this case I'm particularly excited about it!)

Love this cast. Jackie really does deserve this and Bradley is the perfect Fiyero choice

I for one am really surprised that they didn't go down the alternate Elphaba route given that both Nikki and Ashleigh had vocal problems at the end of their run. And with this tour being (mostly?) in Asia, it might even be a bigger challenge for the cast because of the different hotter and more humid climate.

It's very likely for there to be 2 Elphaba u/s. If they need 4 Elphabas in the West End, they'll certainly need them on an exhausting tour with probably even more traveling than on the UK/Ireland tour

What did I say on the Xanadu thread? "That Carly Anderson is a natural Glinda, if ever I saw one."

Wow Bradley Jades as Fiyero could be A BOMB. I hope they'll add at least a couple of european dates because I can't really travel to SIngapore. Damn it seems a great cast.

Yeah, I'm hoping for some european dates too. I'm from Belgium and we don't have that many big productions here. It would be great to have a big show like this over. I already tweeted the biggest theatre production company in Belgium about this and they replied with "Thanks for the tip". Maybe we should all pressure our local theatres into having the show over. I think that if one European date is announced, a lot more will follow
