I normally work behind the bar at the Palladium but I think i'll be putting in a request to usher this one! Exciting!

The guests will be of a high calibre, whoever they are (anyone who has recently appeared in a JRB musical is a good bet). Last time around there was Oliver Tompsett, Laura Pitt-Pulford, Erivo, Willemijn, Bertie Carvel... Even way back in the day, his show at the New Players Theatre (Charing Cross Theatre now) was probably the first time I heard both Jenna Russel and Frances Ruffelle - chist almighty his solo on 'I'm In Business' killed that night. Can't for the life of me remember who was singing Cathy at the gig he played half of L5Y, but I remember enjoying the f*** out of it.
The tickets at the offer price are an absolute f***ing bargain. His shows are a wonder.

The concert was advertised on EP today so I'm wondering if it's one of those "Friday night is music night" type shows. They tend to wheel out the same group of singers.

I've seen L5Y and Parade and really enjoyed both, I don't know much of his other stuff apart from odd songs but it sounds like this could be a great night 😁

Can't for the life of me remember who was singing Cathy at the gig he played half of L5Y, but I remember enjoying the f*** out of it. That was the wonderful Lauren Kennedy, who originated Cathy in the premiere production of L5Y (2001 Chicago). She aand JRB introduced L5Y to London in that unforgettable Bridewell Theatre concert on Sunday 25 August 2002.

Not sure if anyone started a post on this but couldn't find anything. Just back from Jason Robert Brown recording of Friday Night Is Music Night at the London Palladium. Fantastic evening with Rachel Tucker, Norm Lewis and Betsy Wolfe who all sang beautifully. I only knew the music for Songs for a new world and The last 5 years so a lot of the stuff was completely new to me. Not sure when it's being broadcast but I'm guessing it will not be the usual hour programme as this concert was nearly 3 hours. Anyone else there?

I was there too! It was great. Do you know what the last song Rachel sang was? It came right after Betsy did I can do better but I didn't catch the name and didn't know it and now, even though it was amazing, can't remember any of the words.

Not sure if that was the last one though?

Thank you! That's the one I'm thinking of. I don't know SFANW much. Can't wait to hear that when it's on the radio (I think it'll be on the 20th). Also looking forward to hearing the Invisible one. That was a TUNE.

Incredible concert tonight at the Pally! Having watched videos before I came to the conclusion that Mr Robert Brown didn’t have such a strong voice. He was in very good voice tonight! Played some classics and some new songs too. The crowd loved it all. The concert over time by 40 minutes.
Norm Lewis, Rachel Tucker and Betsy Wolfe gave great performances too.
A real treat for a fan like me!

Loved it tonight! Rare I think for a composer to put on such a great performance.
Interesting that Norm Lewis didn’t know the words to the first song...
Three standing ovations. I would have given more.

An unforgettable evening. Broadcast is not 20 April or 27 April, so May at the earliest. It will be worth the wait.

I was there too! Absolutely loved it. Some great song choices, thought JRB had a fantastic voice himself and a great energy on stage. The guests were fabulous - in particular I loved Betsy Wolfe. Thought it was a shame we only got one The Last 5 Years song, especially given how fantastically she sang it. Overall, just a great night out. I'll look forward to listening to Friday Night is Music Night to relive it all!

I was there too last night. Just posted my thoughts in the Performers section so I guess the threads need merging. All in all an amazing night.

Can't wait for this tonight... (as a long time JRB enthusiast) the live concert was one of the best things I've ever seen.

Finally listened to this, and loved it. Let’s hope it leads to London productions of both HONEYMOON IN VEGAS and BRIDGES. Liked the new material as well, although Jaoson said that his new album was out in June, but no release date yet, even though we are nearly in July!

I was tempted, but a little expensive for a decent seat.
Stalls: £65/£85 Royal: £65/£85 Upper: £35 Gallery: £20
May go for an Upper seat. I can't do the Gallery again, I just can't. Worst seats in the West End.

And if anyone didn't catch the Friday Night is Music Night concert it's still avaliable on the BBC radio player for another 3 weeks.
