Although I am now massively pleased that I panic bought a ticket for the last night at the Queen's.

As long as it's not that horrible Jonas brother, it'll be fine, lol.

What on earth does “fully-staged concert version” even mean though? If it’s fully staged doesn’t that make it not a concert version?

Well, "fully staged concert" could mean anything!
Very underwhelmed sadly. Matt Lucas (a great guy who's comedy I love usually) was terrible in the O2 version. Alfie Boe plays Alfie Boe. CHF will bring her fan girl circus with her (though on the plus side the Jamie cast must be relieved and at least it means she's not the Joseph Narrator!)
I'd be interested in seeing Michael Ball as Javert though :-)

Alfie Boe is fine, and I think Michael Ball will make a good Javert, but disappointed it's a concert run (albeit "fully staged"). And yes, the Carrie fans are putting me off already.

Ball and Boe fans competing for space with CHF fans at stage door. This could be fun...

So we lose the iconic staging, then we get stuck with a concert version for the Summer? I imagine there will be alot of ticked off ticket buyers who think they are going to see the full show.

I guess what they mean by "staged concert" is what they did at the RAH for Phantom. A fully acted concert with some props and stuff. No barricade though. And probably projections.

Beginning August 10th for a 16 week run, with the Queens version opening in December. So directly after the end of the Gielgud run as the Gielgud run will end, in theory, November 30th.

Surely with this hiatus it cannot be classed as a continuous production!
The ticket sales for the Queens has picked up - very busy now! I thought I might go to see the original brilliant staging for one last time but it seems a lot of other people have had the same idea!!
The prices have been hiked up too - premium seats front stalls £177 £127 £109 on a Friday evening! Goodness knows what the prices will be for Alfie Boe and Michael Ball!

I’ve seen the plans for the evacuation tunnels for Ball, Boe and Fletch at the Gielgud. Only one a night has to leave by stage door, as two specialist secret exits help the other two escape. One is underground, the other on wires a la ‘Mary Poppins’ for Balls to fly off over the rooftops of Soho to a waiting Cinderella carriage. Boe plans on just walking out the front and getting in his Cortina.

Since they are apparently casting only Les Mis alumni, my vote goes for Craig Mather as Marius. I caught Craig's understudy one night and loved him ... It was Fra Fee .. This was the night of the late night Les Mis Does Christmas which was terrific entertainment. i read this 'announcement' on Facebook and scurried over to find the goss. I saw Alfie and Matt a few tomes at The Queens (sat in front if Nick Jonas one night). As entertainment both gave a good performance, although with Matt it was rather panto'd up, which the audience loved. Yes, I'll try for tickets but it is more of a spectacle than an event, in my opinion.

There will be no escape from the fangirls though who will discover the evacuation tunnel secrets after the first night then post it over all social media for everyone to see!

Watch prices be even higher for the low-rent production of Les Mis.

Not too thrilled by this, but would be quite nice to see Michael tackle Javert. Not surprised by Carrie being Fantine
