Yes they've already said they are recording the Broadway cast too A New Brain is quite wonderful. Solid, fullsome recording and odd to hear the tweaks and changes but sits well alongside the original. Also reassuring to see that American Psycho as advertised on Amazon USA is using artwork completely unrelated to the Broadway production and prominently says "London cast". A possible sign that there will be a Broadway recording with that quite marvelous cast?

Mrs H Presents is out today too.. It's on Spotify . I'll be buying Color P too.. Broadway records don't allow their recordings on Spotify.. Confused by the last sentence?

A bit late to it than everyone else but I bought the Hunchback cast recording earlier this week. Absolutely cannot stop listening to it - I think it's glorious. I'm not usually a massive fan of the Disney musicals but this is an exception. What makes me sad is that it's probably not going to get any productions anytime soon as I would love to see it.
Also bought Finding Neverland - can't say I'm too impressed with it to be honest.

American Psycho (OLC) and Fiddler on the Roof (2016 Broadway cast) are now out. Listening to Fiddler right now. So far it's beautifully recorded, despite a rather subdued Matchmaker, Matchmaker.

I read it as 'I think Phantom will be listening to Mrs H on Spotify, but will have to buy Color Purple as it isn't available on a (free) streaming service.'

Re Hunchback = If anyone watches the tv series 'The Flash' or 'Legends of Tomorrow' on Sky, the girl who plays Kendra/Hawkgirl, is Ciara Renee, who played Esmerelda on the new production/recording. Talented Girl!

Talented Girl! Given that the current lot of DC universe TV shows are populated by many great singers and broadway types (Ciara Renee and Arthur Darvill in Legends, Grant Gustin, Jesse L Martin, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh in The Flash and Melissa Benoist in Supergirl) I'm just waiting for a (hopefully) awesome musical crossover episode!

Listening to American Psycho right now..I think I saw the 3rd or 4th preview or something..But I could swear that the song "Clean" was the opening. The opening on the CD is another number, and clean is somewhere in the middle (Act 2 opening?). Did the running order of the songs change throughout the course of the run?

If you read the booklet from the cd it states that was recorded over a period of 18 months on both sides of the Atlantic. Says reflects changes made on route to Broadway including new opening & additional music.

Yeah, I saw it. Had bought a ticket for myself and then realised I was double booked so sold it to a friend and that (I remember) had to queue for nearly 2hours for a return, but it was worth it.

Oooo I like that they have the dialogue as well as the dance breaks and the fantastic audience responses... I really am happy with this recording!

Just listened to Raise You Up a few times. I really think I prefer live recordings as you get a sense of the atmosphere over the sterility of a studio.
Having said that Killian is a bit shouty for my liking on the second verse, although I love his 'Thank you, Lola.'
The Angels voices don't blend as well for me on this version compared to Broadway but that might be a symptom of the 'liveness.'
There is a bit of dodgy audience clapping.
Matt Henry sounds amazing.
How does it work when they record it over three nights, do they edit different shows together as there are a couple of bits which sound like they might've been edited together?!
I will never like 'if your glitter [pause] rusts.' It sounds so wrong when they don't do it with the preceding lines. If they're worried about what 'glitter rusts' might sound like, they should also be worried about the Bubble butts in the previous line. Maybe that's just me.
Really pleased they've kept the music from the fashion parade in. I think the band sound even more glittery on this version than the Broadway one which can only be a good thing.
Will listen to more tomorrow.

I have just listened to Hold Me in Your Heart and WOW, it is just stunning! And again, I love that it begins with the full Charlie monologue on the phone to Lola! One of the most beautiful parts of the show, with the monologue, the music coming in quietly, then that sensational song!

Sampling it now on iTunes...Matt Henry sounds so flat. How did this guy make it to The Voice? Killian is a male Kerry Ellis. All voice, no charisma and turns every "s" into a "sh".."when will I be the (sh)oul of a maaaan"

Believe me i was sceptical after hearing him on The Voice as i was never majorly impressed but his voice was fantastic when i was the show and he was rarely, if ever, flat. No more than any other performer ever is on a live stage. I also found Killian to have lots of charisma on stage and that was the first role i have seen him in.

Didn't think he did at all when I saw him live though - but definitely a bit on the CD. Cant agree on the Ellis remark though - adore the woman!

Ew he's the anti-hot! LOL But to each his own, and I won't troll the man just on the way he looks. souchyboyy-don't get me wrong! I like Kerry Ellis a LOT, but I kind of think she has her limitations. Her strength is certainly in her voice and not acting.

I think the role should require hotness as a prerequisite to add to the sexual undercurrent between Lola and Charlie. Killian miscast in my opinion... Stark sands did set the bar extremely high to be fair. Other such roles that require hotness are Chris in Miss Saigon, Link in hairspray, Fiyero in Wicked and Warner in Legally Blonde

My Psycho CD arrived just now. LOVE the plastic sleeve with the bloodstains (er, reading back, hoping that isn't just my copy!). What I'm saying is, don't tear that wrapper, it's part of the disc artwork. Yes, I too love the wrapper

So I downloaded Kinky Boots and have been listening to it.. It just reminds me how much more exciting this is as a show on record than on stage. I was seriously appalled at how pedestrian and typical drag queen recycled material it is. I really would have expected something slightly more cutting edge from Harvey. At any rate, the songs are very catchy still and make great treadmill tracks! It's also nice to get the bits that have been cut on the OBC.
Still think Matt Henry is a tad flat at times, but I'm getting used to it.
My biggest gripe is the way the show has been recorded and engineered. English live cast recording producers should seriously work with or consult with the guys who are doing all the Germany and Austria live cast recording like Rebecca and Elisabeth, because these are recorded masterfully. The music tracks on the OLC of Kinky Boots could sound crispier. The dialogue is unbelievably echoey and they didn't bother even omitted the damn coughs from it? It's ridiculous. There are countless live recordings out there from many decades, Barbra, Judy, you name it, and none of them have people coughing. Are you going to tell me people didn't cough back then?

Just listened to the Kinky Boots cast recording. Very enjoyable but yes, the extensive coughing in the first minute of track 15 is just ridiculous! Surely that is just sloppy and with today's technology there should be a way of getting rid of it?
Don't think I know of any other OLC recordings that feature coughing!
A real shame.
