Well we don't know that it definitely isn't but maybe nash16 can confirm. Sorry, Rory. Can't confirm anything other than contracts have been signed. Make of that what you will. I'm hoping for your sake they do follow through and go to London. Did you not catch it up in S-u-A? Finding a venue might be the issue perhaps?

Thanks nash16. I didn't manage to catch it unfortunately but fingers crossed there will be further opportunities in the future! 🤞

For the last couple of years, the RSC London season at the Barbican has been announced in late March or early April so if it's going to the Barbican I guess we will know then.

I thought this was 6 hours of very accomplished theatre. The length was never an issue, the time went by very quickly with pacy storytelling and enough audience-friendly pointers to keep us on track through the ins and outs of Roman politics.
McCabe is terrific, but the show would be nothing without its supporting cast - particularly impressed here by Oliver Johnstone and Pierro Niel-Mee towards the closing stages, but fine work from Joseph Klaska throughout - but I couldn't have picked a weak link throughout. The writing is workmanlike rather than soaring - there's not a lot of poetry here but the pace of the storytelling doesn't really allow for it.
Will be a great shame if this doesn't make it to a wider audience given how well sold the RSC run has been; maybe it will return or transfer at a later stage if the plans really have fallen through now.

The RSC Macbeth seems to be going to the Barbican in late 2018. It is mentioned in Niamh Cusack's details on her agents web site--independenttalent.com

Agent's websites are sometimes a good source of information - it is where I saw NT will be staging Gorky's "Vassa" - of course these things can always fall through.

Not all the cast are transferring. Not a happy company! Is it transferring? And who isn't going with them? What's the source for this? Don't you think, if I could say, I would say? And McCabe may be the star attraction, but be prepared to see his understudy...

As mentioned in 'The Ferryman' thread, this is due to transfer to the Gielgud before 'Company'.

Painless members booking this morning. You cannot select your seat for the Gielgud. Premium price offered me row G seats and the second price row E. Gave me two seats towards the side E4 and 5 initially. I held these seats and asked for two more and was given E18 and 19 which are a bit more central. I was then able to discard 4 and 5.
Also was able to grab a bargain £8 centre front for R&J at the Barbican.

Public booking on the Delfont Mackintosh web site showing a better selection of seats than were being offered by the RSC during members booking.

I went for row V stalls for £49-reduced-to-£39-for-booking-both. It was only offering me £10 seats in the very back row of he Upper Circle, which did not seem like a good deal.

In Stratford On Avon for another play & was interested to see the playscripts for this reduced to £2.50. Productions not previously on my radar (haven't read the books & not my favourite historical period), but bought a copy.
However, belatedly catching up with this thread shows I'm unlikely to be able to afford tickets for the London transfer - unless I settle for the upper circle edges/slips. Or unless they do day seats, but I can find no info about any. I suppose once the Stratford run had ended the RSC thought demand there for the playscripts would fall, hence the bargain price. At least I can read those in case I get to see the transfer!

day seats, but I can find no info about any Won't be any day seat info until nearer the time. Fair enough, though if there are any. they're presumably likely to be very popular.

TodayTix is doing £25 daily rush tickets for both parts. They also have for part 1 top price non-premium stalls seats for £28 for the next 30 days if you want to book ahead.
